OG Xbox Duke controller re-releasing for XB1 & PC Holiday 2017

Now that OG Xbox games will also be compatible, might be interesting to play Breakdown with this controller. Clearly, holding out hope for a Breakdown remaster isn't doing me any favours.

They're not going with bumpers on the redesign?

THE DUKE

Not a huge fan, just nostalgic. I have fairly normal sized hands, so it's not for me. But this is pretty cool.

Outside of the d-pad, I loved the Duke. Every controller since then has been too small for me. Will keep an eye out for this.

It was the diamond layout of the buttons which fit the hand perfectly... controllers are all too similar in layout... this tried to be different and it was perfect for FPS games IMHO.

I'd agree with that, unfortunately it was terrible for almost everything else. The narrow slanted face buttons were too small and crowded compared even to regular pads.

Great idea. I want it from all the players in the console space, especially Sony. DS1/2/3 shaped DS4 for all of us that LOVE it.

It's nice to see Duke again.

A fantastic controller. I'm glad they are re-issueing it.

If the black/white buttons function as the Left/Right stick clicks that would be great.

But I want the Xbox S controller, it's the perfect size :(. The Duke is just stupid as shit huge

That’s pretty cool. Should’ve made it Wireless because...well cords. But that’s a cool gesture.

Not for me but cool it exists.

The new Duke is a slightly modernized version that will be, for the most part, a ”faithful recreation of the original controller's form factor." That's not to say there won't be any new features: Hyperkin is updating the controller with ”a logo display screen, left and right bumpers, and a 9 ft. detachable cable."

Release a good Halo collection on PC to coincide with it and I'd pick it up.

Although they say detachable cable...does that mean it can be used wirelessly, or is it some weird conversion to usb that detaches like the original? Would much rather have it wireless and no silly cable.

the S controller is where it's at. it had the right amount of weight to it and was comfortable to hold. still cool to see a 'remake' of the duke though, if for nostalgic reasons alone.
