Crackdown 3 (XB/PC, Sumo Digital) E3 Trailer out Nov 7th

As it is one of the more bigger releases coming to xbox this year why no stage demo? They could of had a stage demo showing some Single player and a bit of multiplayer with the destruction elements.
For the SP, crackdown doesn't really demo well. 90% if my time spent with C1 is goofy off by climbing buildings, sniping random people and getting agility orbs. Then I'll clumsily take down a syndicate

For the MP, they just didn't want to show it yet

Damn.
I'm left wondering if they thought technology would catch up to their idea before release.
As it stands, I'm convinced it's incredible in perfect conditions, I remain skeptical about real world usage, and I think they want Crackdown 3 out the door, so I'm expecting a scaled down version on release. Weather the storm and talk Crackdown 4 when it settles. All mad speculation based on the lack of anything from the conference, because the old E3 footage is still crazy good, and if it was working as intended, we'd get something...

Even at this e3 they are saying that fully destructible environments will be in day one... so, I dunno..

It is definately a strange way to try to build hype for the game. It should be clear this approach would have the opposite effect.

I am going to assume if the destruction is still there they would show it off at Gamescom.

I know they keep saying its still there on twitter but I really suspect its super downgraded.

Also word of the wise if the official website changes away from the destruction its downgraded. https://www.crackdown.com/
As the main website is still showing it. If that were to change assume its super downgraded as not to mislead people or false advertising.

At this point I won't assume anything.

Showing MP at e3 would have been the smart thing to do.

Everything they've said and all of their media still suggested that total destruction is still in the game. I don't see how/why they could "downgrade it". There solution is bandwidth, not latency bound. It doesn't seem to be a matter of scaling back- it's a matter of does the tech work or not.

Any gameplay footage yet? Trailer seem like the game had a huge downgrade in graphics and the destruction was completely removed.

Biggest fail so far.

Sumo really need to be called out here, it honestly doesn't look like the improvement you'd expect for Xbox x game, it looks pre alpha, like a test map with everything turned off. MS should delay this one more time, if it ships in this state the game will not only bomb it'll kill the franchise

This is my fear. Worried this franchise was bound to be a one-hit wonder.

Pretty sure they dedicated more time to hat trashy platformer than they did their 'big' autumn release.

At some point reality has to be accepted, you don't treat a good game the way MS treated this at the conference. You just don't.

The question we need to be asking is will multiplayer ship at the same time as the campaign?

And what happened to that beta they had planned? I vaguely recall them talking about one...

Destruction is not gone. This was SP and the huge destruction is in MP.

Yes. Check the dev interview posted above.

Too much sun yesterday perhaps. I dunno. I'd show it.

Yeah, both are launching this year (unless it gets delayed too).

The beta was cancelled i guess . It was supposed to launch a mp beta last year, that would evolve into the final game, with the campaign being added at a later date.

Now they both launch at the same time, but from the looks of it, seems to be 2 different games (one campaign only and other mp only), in the sense that might be some fundamental changes between them two and perhaps even different levels of polish.

Either way, does not look very promising. Anxious to see show floor footage, since some insiders said the game was amazing XD

multi was done last year.

Did anyone here take part?

Yes. Check the dev interview posted above.

I should have worded that better. I meant to say can we believe the MP will ship this year. It's been a no-show for two years and instead of showing it at E3 (so far), they just keep talking about it.

I'm getting the vapours...

I really hope they prove me wrong here, I actually went them to because CD remains one of my most beloved franchises, but I'm struggling to hold onto hope.

This should have been their major demo of the show. With a proper play through segment of the campaign. Then finish with a crazy multi player match with the physics stuff, if they still exist.

Some quick jump shots of the campaign and Terry Crews was just lol. It's slim pickings on the Xbox exclusive front and they basically just brushed over the only real 'big' one they have this holiday.

Some more information, courtesy of Amazon.com

Crackdown 3 comes with Wrecking Zone - a 10-person Player-vs-Player race to tear down the opposing team’s stronghold using your strongest Agent superpowers in a 100% destructible battle arena powered by Microsoft Cloud

Because the animations look so much better in 2017

That torso is so stable it could pass as a firmware update.

Am I remembering incorrectly, or, wasn't the original pitch that the entire world of the game was destructible?

And this...

Let's just accept that it's not gonna be like this anymore, not in MP either. No way that it will look so drastically improved in MP over the trailer. That's graphically speaking, 'we'll see about destruction.

So it's not the entire city any more?

No wonder they aren't showing it.
I'm guessing its just that mode, for design purpose. Hopefully just sectioned off bits of the map.

I for one am very disappointed about how they showed Crackdown at E3. It should of been that trailer then an MP gameplay demo on-stage.

I'm astonished by how shit it got treated. Shame on you MS.

They said from the outset that the multiplayer environment would be a different map/setting from the campaign. Calling it an 'arena' does concern me, though.

Yeah, but then they demoed the game within a city environment. That's what I meant, sounds like we're not getting that but instead some kind of arena with two strongholds and the objective is to wreck the opposing teams stronghold.

What happened to drop a building on them? Them being lieutenants or kingpins?

Also, I love Terry Crews, but it felt like they trotted him out as a hype man because they got scared that they needed to show this game, but knew it wouldn't show well... Need playable demos.

This is so fantastic, I played the shit out of red faction guerilla and dreamed of a game with similar tech and destroying giant buildings. The gif shows a giant city but this talk of arenas makes me think they're scaling it way back.

Really sad we didn't get gameplay. Also it makes me wonder if anything from the announcement trailer a few years ago will be in this.

So I'll stick my head over the parapet for a minute...

First things first, E3 is not just the opening presentations.

You may or may not know but we're fully playable on the E3 show floor, plus we've got folk on the ground doing press presentations and more. We're certainly not hiding the game away! In fact we're eager to see peoples hands on comments.

It's hard to show everything you're doing in a short video, especially when it's in a presentation with another 51 games :)

It was our goal to do a proper Crackdown Campaign game and whilst we might not be dropping buildings, there is a hell of a lot of destruction in the game. I'm sure soon enough you'll see some of the new toys we've made let loose on the world, not least what happens when you destroy a street full of traffic.

If you can hold judgement till you get a better look at some actual gameplay, you might just be pleasantly surprised.

We've got an amazing team on the game - it's a real labour of love.

Right back to work, these games don't make themselves :)

lol you literally just came up with an entire online assumption of negativity from one amazon multiplayer mode blurb 😂. let them reveal the entire multiplayer before coming to these type of assumptions.

this is why the demo was terrible ms has to do better with showcasing their games

It would have been nice to see the main appeal this game was marketed for in front of millions though which is the mp destruction.

Is the multiplayer destruction and map scale the same as the gif above?

I have to ask, what was the thinking with that trailer? You could have just had the announcer do a monologue and cut to an agent going after a lieutenant with one of those new toys.

Did you even okay the trailer or did MS just cut a few scenes together without your input?

Feels like they had no game of any such degree beyond the tech demo, ported over Xbox 360 Crackdown and have been trying to make something of it in short time.

That is comforting. Interested to see impressions.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm still holding out hope. I just think the footage chosen for the stage created more concern and questions than excitement.

Eagerly awaiting more footage.

Now Get back to work agent
