So I'll stick my head over the parapet for a minute...

First things first, E3 is not just the opening presentations.

You may or may not know but we're fully playable on the E3 show floor, plus we've got folk on the ground doing press presentations and more. We're certainly not hiding the game away! In fact we're eager to see peoples hands on comments.

It's hard to show everything you're doing in a short video, especially when it's in a presentation with another 51 games :)

It was our goal to do a proper Crackdown Campaign game and whilst we might not be dropping buildings, there is a hell of a lot of destruction in the game. I'm sure soon enough you'll see some of the new toys we've made let loose on the world, not least what happens when you destroy a street full of traffic.

If you can hold judgement till you get a better look at some actual gameplay, you might just be pleasantly surprised.

We've got an amazing team on the game - it's a real labour of love.

Right back to work, these games don't make themselves :)

Thank you for coming in this thread. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering:

1). Is there day/night/weather cycle in SP/MP? Will we see rain etc?
2). How long is the campaign?
3). Not sure if you can answer this but how many maps are there in this game?
4). How much destruction can we expect in SP?
5). Lastly do you any specific reason why you guys didn't demo the game on stage like other high profile exclusives (forza, SOT)

lol you literally just came up with an entire online assumption of negativity from one amazon multiplayer mode blurb 😂. let them reveal the entire multiplayer before coming to these type of assumptions.

this is why the demo was terrible ms has to do better with showcasing their games

Well yeah. that's what happens when MS fails to control the message. People grasp at straws.

Strange choice for the stage show.

Just realized that Crackdown 3's release date of Nov. 7 is sandwiched between COD:WWII (Nov. 3) and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Nov. 17)...

I'm not knocking the game at all, but IMO any game that comes out around these two games is facing an uphill battle, sales wise.

My issue is not your game, but MS not showing more of your game when its suppose to be a big Xbox one x launch title, they showed more of 3rd party games then yours. Im sure Crackdown will be a fun game and I will get it day 1.

Every year there is one game sent out to die. Like I don't care who you are, there are only a handful of games that could be sandwiched like that and survive, and I surely don't believe crackdown is part of that chosen few.

As someone who absolutely LOVES this franchise and doesnt own an Xbox one, I am genuinely giddy its coming to the PC.

Please dont make it a shitty port. I am even willing to deal with the garbage windows store.

Yeah, but then they demoed the game within a city environment. That's what I meant, sounds like we're not getting that but instead some kind of arena with two strongholds and the objective is to wreck the opposing teams stronghold.

What happened to drop a building on them? Them being lieutenants or kingpins?

It could just be an advertised mode for PvP stuff.

I think what would calm the nerves is confirming the city wide destruction is still there for MP.

If you can few friends and just mess around dropping buildings on each other that be great.

Im willing to drop a full pre order if the full city wide destruction is till intact.

Thanks.

Yeah, watched in very slow motion and doesn't look like CG, and looks quite better than the trailer, the volumetric explosions being back, compared to whatever the trailer shows XD

I wonder what happened here.

Thanks for clarifying.

I didn't have any doubts about the quality of the game, but the graphical disparity is a bit concerning. But, hopefully gameplay pops up soon and clear any confusion.

That was already confirmed yesterday.

I'm worried now. For a game that has been in development this long, it's looking pretty average.

No destruction when firing the rockets ?

Yeah, the lighting in the very least is drastically different from what they showed before.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply here. I definitely haven't given up on the game or anything yet and i really want to see more. Are we getting actual lengthy gameplay footage of SP and MP this week?

That was already confirmed yesterday.

That's good to know. Hopefully graphically it still looks like what we saw two or three years ago, to this day that still looks good enough. Something seems to have happened to the graphics. Well in that trailer anyway, the 30 sec gameplay looked better already.

gameplay wise... i looks like Crackdown. No problem there IMO

You aren't going to see destruction other than props in the campaign.

The visuals, though, leave much to be desired. I thought it would campaign look much closer to the teaser. Going from seeing Sunset Overdrive's open world to this... no Bueno.

Visual standards for Open Word games have gone through the roof in the past couple of years.

Gotta be tough keeping up, especially for a game that's been in development this long.

Sumo's biggest solo project was ruining LittleBigPlanet.

Ugh, this. They did a good job with the Sega/Sonic racing games, but Sony/MM made a mistake outsourcing the game to them (let alone outsourcing the game at all). Game wasn't as polished or as well-designed as MM's titles or even the handheld installments.

And considering how this seems to a massive downgrade compared what was initially shown, I guess SD might end up fumbling another third installment...

Destruction is in a multiplayer game mode called Wrecking Zone

Campaign is your typical Crackdown experience.

Yeah I get there won't be all the destruction like in MP but you would thing they would add a bit of basic destruction to make it look a little better and graphically it just looks average.

Disappointing really.

With games like Saint's Row and Just Cause doing wonton destruction so well, I'm looking forward to Crackdown taking the reigns as the king of ridiculous explosions.

I'll hold out till we start getting information from the showfloor later in the E3.

I appreciate the reply and I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of the game. But this is not my first E3 rodeo and way more often that not, a game that debuts looking janky and unsatisfying ends up this way, Recore being recently one comes to mind.

I am so willing to eat crow on this, nothing will make me happier.

Fuck's sake then show off the multiplayer destruction then. Everyone knows that's the real draw, we all are waiting for footage of it.

If the talk surrounding the game is how crap it looks in single player, then you have dropped the ball, marketing-wise.

Will there be a day/night cycle? Does the announcer return? (He has to) Is the SUV back?

'Wrecking zone'? Hopefully that's not just a mode but an entire suite of gamemodes. Am unconcerned with campaign, though I wanted GTA online style multiplayer with destruction. I'll be severely disappointed if Multiplayer is merely an accessory mode, rather than its own entity, like we saw with Sunset Overdrive

Good to cloud computing is still in for multiplayer.

I just don't get it why you wouldn't show that during the show though. It's cool to hear from them that it's still in, but show it too then. I really hope the destruction hasn't been severely downgraded. But since the dev here said it's playable at E3 we definitely will be seeing something soon then on Youtube and Gamersyde i'm sure.

Pretty sure it's only the campaign that's playable on the show floor.

He says that the multiplayer will talked about at a vague later date. Maybe the night before release.

Problem is Xbox One X needs exclusive launch games. So I don't think we'll see a delay.

In general I feel that Xbox this generation with directing trailers and gameplay, so as to highlight the strengths of their games. Sunset Overdrive, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves (though they are getting better), Halo 5, Gears 4, hell even Scalebound, - all could have benefited from a better cut. Halo 5 should have presented the Sangehelios canyons; Sunset Overdrive should have highlighted the late game insanity and dulled down the obnoxious humor; Gears 4 should have teased horde, and presented more action set-pieces; State of Decay should have blended more action; and whomever greenlit that Scalebound demo last year - woof - should have shown the world, creatures, and traversal instead.

I'm sure this will be a good game, but this was my most excited showing at Microsoft's conference and definitely my largest disappointment yet.

What you want to say is it will get absolutely destroyed, yes. The little amount of screen time they dedicated to it (when supposedly it was their One X killer game) showed what they expect from it, nothing. It is sent to die.

Stumpokapow

listen to the mad man
Given the switch of developer, and presumably all the creative staff, my assumption would be that the original vision for the game simply did not work at scale.

Yeah man, I thought it was going to get a huge showing...but just some low hype trailer.

I think MS really need to show some Ori/CD3 gameplay footage on stage. They blew the revealings for these games. Sure it was campaign footage but should of did a walk-through mission.

Ah well, still looking forward to it.

I know people moan whenever someone dares talk during a press conference but this video is closer to what should've been on the stage. They just kind of dumped that trailer out there as if everyone had been following this games development the whole time. This E3 should've been Crackdown's big blowout event with footage of the campaign and multiplayer. I bet most people didn't even play the original games and still don't know why they should care.
