Destiny 2: PC 60FPS Gameplay

;( I mean, I guess it's somewhat okay since it's mostly PvE but I'm not excited to that MP has auto-aim for controllers. It hurts Titanfall 2

I wish they didnt have it, but from what I hear, it'll have a tiny bit of aim assist on controllers (Nothing insanely gamebreaking/crazy).. and users on m/kb will still have superior aim.

If it's the same as console Destiny 1

...

Also, aim assist was different for different scopes. I wonder if PC will have something for that.

Furthermore, I wonder if on the fly FoV changes are possible

I play with controller on PC exclusively and always turn aim assist off. It's bullshit if they add it to the PC version in PvP.

Aiming well with controllers isn't hard, but people are so used to aim assist they are terrible when it's disabled. It's like never taking off the training wheels for a kid learning to ride a bike.

I'm all for having it, for people with disabilities for example, but people need to try it with it off.

Fuck it, I never buy games at full price but I'm going to order this, it looks incredible on PC.

Footage was smooth af. I'm ready. 144hz panel + 1080Ti + 6 core i7. Phew. Hate playing 30fps fps, and I was disappointed Bungie went that route again on consoles.

The one month wait will be worth it.

Lol.

I played 1 on PS4 but man 60fps and hopefully ultrawidescreen support is making me switch to PC. Don't care that it's delayed. I can wait.

I have some 4k footage from E3 today. The PC were using ran the game so damned good, I was drooling. This is going to be so damned good when it finally comes out. I'll get my stuff uploaded later.

No one is saying a 1060 isn't enough for the game. Nvidia is doing a promotion for a free copy of D2 if you buy a card, but it only applies to the 1080 or 1080 ti.

Actually, the person I spoke with today at E3 did state that you're going to want to have a GTX 1080/1080 Ti if you want the full experience. I did ask about lower end cards and machines, but there wasn't anything mentioned.

Guessing they're focusing on the high end and will scale down and then optimize the game.

Oh, and a teammate managed to break the game already. He ended up finding a glitch that the Bungie person in the room was interested in.

So far most of the footage I've seen from this game looks more like generic scifi than bungie sci fi. Where are the epic blue bungie skyboxes? Everything looks darker and more drab.

Would be great if it supports 21:9 Ultrawide monitors properly. Any word on that? I know that might be iffy given the multiplayer aspect.

That 10 minute gameplay looks so damn smooth..

but why is no one adjusted the FoV yet? Is it still not available in the current build?

I noticed that the crosshair was properly centered. Bungie opted for a lower crosshair from Halo 2 onward and even Destiny had that carry over to it. It's always been off-putting to me, so it's nice that they're opting for a normal crosshair again.

That's usually because of the Nvidia marketing deals. They're all about pushing that 1080.

I mean I already do have a GTX 1080 so i should be looking at a nice clean 100+ FPS on my rig.

Yep. I'm in the same boat, but with a standard 1080.

I've been waiting for Destiny on PC for way too long. It's the absolute perfect fit.

What monitor would best for this ?! I got a i7 1070 but my screen is just a 1080p tv lol

Depends what you want really there are so many choices... Do you want the highest refresh rate, resolution or real estate?

The top dog monitors that will be out before Destiny 2 are 4k, HDR, 144hz, Gsync displays but they will be around $1300 as a rough guess. So what ever you budget accounts for :p

I recently upgraded to a 34" 21:9, 1440p, 100hz, Gsync display for around $800.

ASUS already have a 27inch 4K 144Hz HDR monitor out, it costs $2000, and not even a Gsync model.

Game looks so good, but just something weird about this being loosely through b.net. Anyways, absolutely, positively blows this version comes out after consoles, and that far out. But hopefully will be worth it, bug free, and stable. Oh, and cheater free since it has aim assist baked in due to controller support likely.

Hmm. If I get this I should get it on PC. Now, I assume there will be some kind of bonus for Destiny players coming back. As long as that bonus is applied to the PC version I'll get it. If there is a bonus and ex PS4/Xbox players don't get it then they can fuck off. Hopefully that won't happen.
4K and 60fps is hard to resist.

I double dipped on this and got it on PC and PS4

Seeing as I travel most weeks, I will be spending most of my time on my Mac.
How do you think my setup will fare @1080p

MacBook Pro 2016 with bootcamp and latest bootcamp drivers
Core i7 6920HQ @2.9 GHz
Radeon Pro 460 w 4 GB VRAM
16 GB RAM

Today I can run the following games @1080p
Prey - Ultra @30 fps
Rise of the Tomb Raider Ultra with minor tweaks @30fps
Nier highest settings @ 45 fps

Will it hold @1080 30 fps with Ultra settings? Can I hope for 60 fps?

How do you guys think my 980ti/i7 6700k combo will fair at 1080p? I'm hoping that I can get 144hz on mostly Ultra.

It is super early for any Benchmarks as we have no idea what performance is like apart from it is solid 4k/60 on 1080 Tis (I think they are using those in the demo machines?).

If you compare it to most games that are out, ultra 1080p on a 980Ti tends to be around 70-100 fps depending on AA settings etc. So if you knock down at least some settings you can expect some high 100+ fps.

With it being Bungie's first game in a while on PC we also don't know how the engine performs and how scale-able the art assets are etc.

Thanks for the response. This gives me a better idea of what to expect. I'll upgrade down the road regardless but it's nice to hear that what I have will still do the job.

Man, I bought a gtx 1080ti from newegg on Monday at 11pm, saw Tuesday the announcement for bumdle code, so I contacted customer support and they told me nope on getting a code.

I was bummed, they told me to refuse the delivery and order a new card if I wanted a code. Customer service top notch.

Despite that, I'm super excited about mouse keyboard destiny at 60fps. I loved destiny on the ps4, and being able to play it on my preferred platform is just amazing to me.
