Lol, 18 looks better in Super than she did in Z.
Kale, Cabba and Caulfila were specifically designed to be skinny and have different proportions, they're supposed to look like skinny kids, it's not like they stopped doing buff and more Z proportioned characters.
Super just has body type diversity.

But I wouldn't worry too much this early. ArcSys have plenty of experience in their company with fighting games, especially competitive ones. They have a demo coming out and they'll probably do more live tests and cons and stuff. They take feedback. A lot could change even in a couple of months

The show started with production problems and after the production completely fell apart back at the end of 2015 in the F arc they've been improving with each arc, current arc is pretty consistent and has some pretty nice animation fairly often and the production still isn't normal yet.

It's too clean compared to the older stuff and that makes it looks very static at times. Everything is washed out.
They should make it like the slomo effect in Tekken 7 which only gets triggered at the end of the round : If the two players are playing with their last character both on low HP (enough to die if you get hit) and they are both using a special attack that clash with each other, then you trigger a "beam" struggle.
Since it only happens once (and on very specific conditions) it wouldn't break the pacing, it would raise the tension a bit (because if you're in the situation where it can get triggered you're probably a bit stressed out), plus it would be faithful to the series since beam struggle is not something that happens so often, it's mostly a dramatic tool for the climax of the fights.

If we can get up to 30 including DLC I feel pretty good about Tien being in the game.
Although can definitely see a couple GT characters getting in, and by that probably just SSJ4 Goku and maybe Gogeta.

If the roster is limited to 20-24 characters then I think there's a 0% chance of GT characters making the cut since even regular Z characters would be on the chopping block at that number. Heck, even at 30 I think any more than 1 or 2 GT characters are long shots. Super is almost certainly going to get more representation than GT.

Yeah I don't see GT getting in, core characters to the canon series will be given priority and if the roster is only expected to around 20 then its even more doubtful.

If the game had 10 characters I'd buy it. This is the biggest surprise of E3 by far.
I can tell you without an ounce of sarcasm that Pokemon would first make a game with only 150 Pokémon featuring the PokeRap as a main theme and having a note at the start screen saying that all other Pokemon species suddenly died, Before Dragon Ball ignores Super in it's games from now on.
Last week's Super episode had more audience in Japan than freaking One Piece, and people love Super characters like Black over Z Filler/GT stuff like Pikkon or Giru

Yep. All the more reason why hopefully Super-themed DLC will take care of the likelihood that we won't get any female roster picks besides 18 and maybe Videl on the base roster. It's pretty safe to presume Zangya and Pan (GT) aren't likely to show up on anybody's short lists.

And Super has revived the series to the point where it is Toei's #1 money maker and Bandai's #2 (right behind Gundam).
We're definitely not getting a large amount of Super content at first, they have to cover their Z bases, but they aren't going to ignore it either.

If you guys want beam struggles then perhaps it will be there in story mode. A vs match probably couldnt capture the intensity needed to pull it off.
I'm not totally against beam struggles but can only see them lasting about as long as sword clashes did in samurai shodown 2. It was a spazzy mechanic but no one seemed to complain about it at the time it was in arcades and on location test.

Pikkon is a much better character than Goku Black. I think it'd be interesting to know where he came from and some of his backstory. I'd like to see him incorporated into cannon and hopefully Uub makes it into the game as well.

Can it be done? Yes, but I don't think is feasible.
Allow me to flesh out Pikkon's backstory:
Toriyama was feeling nostalgic and wanted to relive the glory days of Goku vs Piccolo, but couldn't make this happen because Goku died fighting Cell and power creep resulted in a huge gap between the two former rivals. So Toriyama and Toei gathered the Dragon Balls and wished for Shenron to create a new warrior who could fulfill his request.
I'm talking more about ArchedThunder trying to shove Super down the throat of casual watchers/Z watchers here.
I want Hit and Beerus myself as long as the awful SSJ Blue forms don't make it in.
Then I hope they're DLC because I don't want these trash clones in over more deserving Z characters.

I think beam struggles can work. The Capcom JoJo fighter had the attack rush clashes and that's basically a beam struggle with fists.

They're characters that are generally more interesting than Burter, Jeice, Recoome, or bland filler episode characters like Pikkon.

LOL at Pikkon being a better character than Black. Pikkon was a fun filler character but Black was a legit awesome villain.
