Lol. That's what I was trying to find. But I swear to God wiggum told lou to get the baby cuffs.

What's it called when you commit money laundering while stopping short of doing so?

I think I worded that poorly. It's probably more like something that smells of money laundering but could not be currently proved in a court of law. I am not attempting to excuse it, but this happens all the time in international business. Similarly, insider trading is a standard practice in the financial world, but rarely prosecuted because of how easy it is to create plausible deniability. Same deal here.

What's your take on why he's so keen on no one seeing his tax returns if he's legit?

Like I said in my initial post, I don't think he is nearly as rich or successful as he claims to be. I wouldn't be surprised if his financial reality is far less impressive than what he purports it to be. I think he is a narcissist. That's not just a regular person with an inflated ego; it's a brain pathology. Also, maybe his tax returns will open up other business deals to further unwanted scrutiny. He likely wants to avoid that also because he probably has a few shady deals on the books. Lastly, I think I remember reading something about how he gamed the system to avoid pay taxes after his bankruptcy. I'll try to find the article link.

Ultimately I am just speculating, some of it is based on sound reasons and circumstantial evidence, but I just think the covert Trump/Russia operation is less likely than him just being an incompetent narcissist that is desperate to preserve his image and brand form being exposed. There is a really good Frontline documentary that offers some interesting insights into Trump. I'll grab the link to it in a moment.

EDIT: I cannot find the link on my phone at the moment, but use any podcast app and look for pbs frontline. It's called "President Trump". It's really worth a listen.

RICO investigation means they can more easily prosecute following the $ right?

This is what I keep coming back to. Whatever it is Trump's afraid of is something the Feds already know and have known for so long they didn't give a shit about it and certainly aren't going to start now because that would be a tremendous waste of time.

Trump's afraid of everyone else finding out about it though. Like his obsession with his wealth and his putting out a exact number when nobody who's a billionaire can give you a truthful stable value on their wealth, but he can?

And when he's gone through as many bankruptcies, lawsuits and other court proceedings that he has? The feds are not going to give a shit about any of this because they could have prosecuted him at any time on this kind of thing.

Insider trading is a perfect example. Martha Stewart being a beautiful case because even though the CEO of ImClone went down for all sorts of shit and practically was the evidence of the conspiracy, Stewart only got whacked for obstruction and perjury because it was literally impossible to prove anything else against her that the court threw out the trading charges rather than bother to have them even prosecuted.

You mean the "evidence" comey commented on a few days ago? which is now mostly confirmed as wrong
Keep acting like nothing is happening.
Let's hope you share your thoughts when this man is indicted or evidence piles up so much the republicans cant hold hold on to him anymore.

Guilty as fuck. He could be on his knees fellating Putin right in front of them and his supporters would say he was a hands-on president working hard to improve international relations.

I am sure pissbaby has done it with with every official. We are just waiting for the CIA and other military guys to step forward.

Man. So I guess now we find out just how far the GOP is willing take their fight with the intelligence community.

This shit has no brakes, but their terms certainly do.

Hold up........If there is actual proof, written down, that Trump actually said, with no other possible interpretation of the words, asked a NSA Director to stop.

Then we might actually see the end of Trump. This if true, can not just be deflected.

Hahahahaha...

Oh man!

In all seriousness Sessions didn't say anything. He said Comey was wrong, then refused to give any details as to how he was wrong.

Comey is still the most believable account of what happened.

I think nephilim meant one of the NYT articles Comey said in his hearing (about continued Trump campaign and Russia contacts) to be "mostly wrong" but could not correct in public because corrections would give out info integral to the investigation.

Trump has now managed to piss off and try to conduct illegal dealings with every single intelligence agency.

Nah. After watching the Sessions thing. And hearing people like Cotton speak. Trump could be on tape handing over classified documents to the Russians and republicans would back him.

The only issue is that there is no statue of limitation on this, (at least what I have been told, could be wrong). If they don't the Democrats will when they own the house in 2018.

This news almost guarantees to me that Trump will make a move to request Mueller be fired. They seem to be getting awful fucking close to nailing him and I don't doubt he'll try and do something desperate to protect himself.

When is all of this going to knock him down, when.

Yo Trump's birthday is getting the best gifts. I'm happy for him
to get the fuck out of the white house already

Honestly, I think I'd rather have the orange buffoon in the White House for the next 4 years with his tenure clouded and mocked due to all this shady shit and controversy than have Pence in his stead. Keep Trump there, let him continue to fuck up and then there seems like little chance the Republicans will win the next election.

Things will change if the special counsel announces he’s gonna indict (or that the president would be charged were he not president).

Republicans aren’t in some sorts of magic spell... they’re just afraid of trumps base. His support there is eroding. There are polls that have him at 82% republican support... most analyst seem to think anything below 80 would be a disaster In 2018... let’s see what republicans do when trump is I’m that zone.

I think once Trump fears his business going down the drain he will make a move but perhaps he is in that deep that walking away doesn't save his business so he is screwed either way and we will see how desperate he is. Even his kids are probably entangled and his son in law, Kushner, what a mess he seems to be in with loans. They need Trump out without pardons and then get criminal cases against him, friends and family.

Telling the NSA director to his face that he and his intelligence community are incompetent and stupid for their conclusion that russia helped trump lends strong credibility that he has genuine mental disorders.

That goes beyond stupidty, like he genuinely believes that he can change this dudes mind by telling him to ignore all evidence because he told him to.

They won't do anything.
The opportunistic moderates that used to swing between R and D now either don't vote, vote 3rd party or vote D. Trump's base is the only reliable voter bloc they have, but there's a catch. They vote R specifically because Trump is the R's posterboy. If the Rs drop him, a number of his supporters will either stop voting or go 3rd party (they will never vote D since they viscerally hate them).
Without Trump, Rs face bad odds, even after counting their numerous voter suppression actions and gerrymandering.

Sorry to play the idiot here, but with all the shit Trump has done is there any possibility he ends up in jail soon. Its the only outcome that makes sense.

The more Trump struggles the tighter the ropes squeeze around him. The more he fires people, makes enemies, tweets lies, throws around toothless threats, denies, the looser the faucet of leaks becomes.

You'd think he'd learn by now. But at the very least it's an entertaining ride.
When you're that old and have gotten away with everything for so long, well, let's just say it's impossible for this leopard to change his spots.
Donny no longer has any capability of learning from his mistakes or altering from his rooted behavioral tendencies.

Thankfully because of how long this is taking we can also collect significant footage on GOP members defending him. Keeping tying yourselves to this anchor you embarrassing fucks.

Gonna be fun (and terrifying) watching him have to repeat a Saturday night massacre just to get rid of Mueller.

Watergate took little over two years from start to finish. They have barely started the investigation on this. These things take a lot of time.

Republicans also have to be the ones to initiate it since they're in charge of both houses of Congress.
