I personally found wallpaper Merged Zamasu funny instead of scary. The manga, it looks like Black's clone technique that everyone called BS on in Episode 64.

I'd take funny over clones. What happened in the anime was just strange and unexpected and way more memorable to me.

Fucking LAME! The new Xenoverse 2 DLC isn't adding Ikari Trunks, just a new variation with the spirit sword as a move and he has regular SSJ2 by the looks of it.
Blue Vegeta and Goku are getting new variations (and Kid Trunks oddly enough), so hopefully they get the right outfits for the arc.
Trunks not getting Ikari despite the fact that it shows up in a CG cutscene is super aggravating.

Not like they can give it any justice ingame with the shit engine.

Blue aura is a disaster so Ikari would be too.

We don't really have the full chapter yet, just snippets. Without context it's hard to judge. A lot of people shit on the last chapter before it was released too, and I was even expecting to hate it but once reading it I felt much better about it.

The manga isn't perfect but it's been an enjoyable read for me. Both the anime and manga have pros and cons of their own right imo.

Maybe what happens in the manga will make sense if it's done later in the anime, who knows. But if nothing like that happens in the anime, I really don't like the direction the manga is taking, I get they can and should be different, but stuff like that just feels like a step too far, just to differentiate itself from the anime, without any care for how it fits in the story.

If Goku hasn't seen a Haki, it's bullshit unless you want to argue Whis taught him it, and maybe that's the angle they're going, but then why did Goku wait so long to use it? And it's more bullshit than the Genki Dama sword.

Well Toyo does like doing weird little things here-and-there that teases future plot elements, so maybe Goku using Hakai will be a development that happens in the future. We still haven't even got to the first time traveller mentioned in the manga months ago.

The last chapter wasn't all that good, imo, because it had two asspulls in it and appeared Toyo doesn't realized that plot hole he created with Merged Zamasu.

Can I have an actual summary please ?

I'd like to jump on the hate wagon.

Cliff notes:

- Goku can do Haki like Beerus, but it isn't perfect and it require Mastered Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan.

- Merged Zamasu tears off his shirt to show off his abs.

- Vegeta saves Goku when he's being choked by Merged Zamasu

- Trunks cuts Merged Zamasu in half, one half is Goku Black and the other is Future Zamasu

- Multiple Merged Zamasu appears like the Walking Dead.

That is my take on what happened.

What plothole?

As for asspulls, Dragonball has always had asspulls (and plotholes too, for that matter), lol. Nothing new to the series at all even in the canon manga.

Throw in that
Vegeta gets the rage boost instead of Trunks.

He said Merged Zamasu would defused since he wasn't a Supreme Kai despite having access to the Time Rings. U7 Supreme Kai said he wished he was still a lower Kai so he could heal, like Future Zamasu. Gowasu said if he wasn't a full Supreme Kai he couldn't used the Time Rings.

So, you need to be a full Supreme Kai to used a Time Ring. Both Black and Zamasu can, but they're not full Supreme Kais since they're fusion will break.

See the problem.

Not even Dragon Ball had two AssPulls and a plot hole in one chapter.

Was it a rage boost or is that speculation?

It's hard to gauge at this point if that's actually a plotholel or not. While that is stated, it's also stated that "only gods can time travel" using them as well. It could be that the usage of the time rings isn't tied specifically to the position of Kaioshin, only that Kaioshin are the ONLY ones that are supposed to use them and no one else as in it's some type of universal law of some sorts (such as time travel itself being banned outside of the usage of Time Rings).

In the anime, the only thing that makes Black and Future Zamasu into Kaioshin is them taking Gowasu's potara earrings, though that's never depicted in the manga in any capacity. Though it is stated in the manga when Gowasu gives Zamasu his potara to travel into the future on Planet Barbari that he's "temporarily promoting him to Kaioshin" which means that there is probably more to becoming a Kaioshin than just taking the earrings IN THE MANGA. Dunno what was stated in the anime though.

Dragonball is bit ambiguous here on this matter. It could be interpreted many different ways and it's likely Toriyama himself was rather vague on the rules as well.

That would be nice if Toyo actually said that. He didn't. He claimed that you need to be a Supreme Kai to used the Time Rings and to stay fuse. Black and Zamasu can used the Time Rings, so why isn't their fusion forever. Especially with Kais losing the ability to heal once they become Supreme Kais.

The same thing was stated in the anime with the 'temporarily promoting'.

More like Toyo making shit up.

I feel like this thread exists in a bizarre alternate world, because in what universe is the DB super manga trash. It's mediocre, just like the anime, and they both have their own pros and cons.

Yep this is pretty much how I feel, though I've always enjoyed Dragonball even at it's worst. It's like a guilty pleasure at this point, lol. Compared to most even the original series is pretty meh but I love the series regardless of that.

I do think the recent recruitment arc of Super has had some genuine good character writing though.
