maybe its just cuz its day -900 but homing dash looks hella dumb atm. the idea of immediately closing space with a safe move that can lead to good damage on hit and pressure on block makes me worry that zoning will be tough to implement and neutral will be a blow up.

even pushblocking it doesnt really stop them because by the time both of you recover it doesnt seem like the defender is greatly +. what i seen in that situation is both players press homing dash and clash midair.

maybe an AA assist ala gohan could punish it on reaction, but assists take quite a while to recover so that wouldnt be a consistent tactic i dont think, at least at the moment.

If it has air-invul anti-air normals like BB or GG it should be fine, i'd think. It does look kinda dumb right now though..

If it has air-invul anti-airs like BB or GG it should be fine, i'd think. It does look kinda dumb right now though..

yeah it does seem to have a lot of start up too so if they have a 6A equivalent then that would but a great way to stop it unless you were locked down with assist or caught throwing a FB or something. if it becomes situational like that i think i'd like the mechanic a lot. still prolly gonna be a frustrating experience for beginners tho.

Broly even got a new form recently in that 4D movie, I doubt they're going to replace him.

Few things

1) Didn't know that was a thing
2) after googling , those renders of goku and vegeta make me want a large scale expensive CGI dragon ball movie,
3) I just noticed SSgSS goku looks like Toriko
4) God broly or whatever its called reminds me of dio

You can hit it and you can parry it.

It certainly doesn't look dumb so much as people don't know how to deal with it.

It looks dumb in the same way that Zangief looks broken during the first week of a new Street Fighter release...

Imma break it down for you. I'm going to tell you a secret, i'm going to give you the lore.

He's a cool big guy who yells, kills people and is super strong and punches the thing widly.

That's it. Not everyone wants indepth character backgrounds for all their villains , sometimes punching the thing , really cool is enough and makes an impact. Also character design.

Its why Eddy Brock venom is still around, sometimes you don't want depth, you just wanna see a cool feral big guy punch the thing and be a monster. Would i prefer flash thomson venom at all times? Yes, but I get why people like eddy

I'm not a fan of him but he always manages to sneak into every video game. He's on the cover of Raging Blast, a game that has no other movie characters! (Unless you want to count Bardock.)

Kale is not, I can't stress this enough, is not getting in over Broly. I don't care if you hate Broly, I don't care if you love Kale, I don't care if you created Kale, Broly has top ranking here. There's level to this "DB game Saiyan" shit and by that there's different tiers of Saiyans who will always appear and who won't. It goes like this.

Tier 1 Saiyan - These guys will always be in the DBZ games no matter what, you can't make a DB game without them. (ex. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan)
Tier 2 Saiyan - These guys will probably be in the game due to their popularity above all and while not Tier 1, they're very valuable (ex. Broly)
Tier 3 Saiyan - These guys are liked but it's a coin toss on if they'll appear in the game, it just depends on the character amount (ex. Nappa)

Broly is Tier 2. There's no way that Kale gets in over Broly.

It doesn't matter if you like him or not, this is a fact. I don't even play dude but he's one of the most popular Saiyans out here.
 
Wait what does that have do with anything regarding Dragon Ball Super. Also Cabbage went SSJ in episode 37. But yeah I would take Broly over Kale, for the fact that Broly at this point has some moves while Kale just transformed, but a kale costume for Broly would be nice.

Its a sign that the well of creativity has run dry. Especially, since a non-cannon character had to be ripped off to create a new cannon character. There are also clones of other characters like Frieza, Goku, Kaioshins, etc. Add to this, the lack of a signature villain, and lackluster character designs (i.e. Jiren looks like something designed by a 5th grader).

Somebody gotta occupy that big man role and I definitely don't want nappa in this...

I actually do want Nappa. That said, Super's bringing Kale, Toppo, & Jiren to the table, & even if we ignore everything non-Z, there's 16 & Dabura (Who I don't remember that well so I don't know if he'd be a grappler... But I do know he's big). And in a 3v3 game, I'm willing to consider 16, 17, & 18 a package deal. And thanks to Super, I'm convinced the latter 2 have better odds than most.

The man had dope sword attacks with demonic aura in budokai 3

He really didn't get much screentime, but Dabura's got some unique things to work with, so I hope he gets in. Firebreath, spears & swords, stone spit, and maybe Babidi assists.

I'm down with 16, 17 and 18 being in the base game as a trio as long as that cuts down these other Super characters in the base game like Cabba, Kale and Caligula. Keep them outta here. 17 can be a mix of his Z and Super form for all I care as I think we won't get 2 17s. Just 1.

im not asking for nerfs i just wanna talk about the mechanic.

i dont think you get a punish off it. it basically resets neutral from the examples i seen. i think i seen both chars push homing after pushblock and get clash in the air.

you can also cancel off it which is kinda dope cuz you can do stuff like homing then airdash other side, cross up divekick like this example.

Does the homing dash begin an attack when you collide with opponent or do you need to start pressing attack buttons once you get near?

It may also be possible to counter the homing dash with a tag super while you are blocking. I think i saw that in one of the videos i viewed.

Just treat the homing dash like an air dash, either you punish them before they reach you, or you block and have to deal with the blockstring.

Or you can just pushblock and return to neutral, that sounds pretty good honestly. If the game just gave us a free punish for blocking the homing dash, then the homing dash would be kind of bad outside of combos and specific punishes. It'll be fine, but might take a little bit of time to get used to how neutral will work in this game.

I guess even -if- there's no 6A equivalent you might be able to jab it like you do hops in KoF.

Wonder what happens if you try to neutral jump it, would it chase you up?

Yes, I believe it will try to follow us if we jump. I have no idea how good the tracking is though since I only have videos to go off of.

It'll be great if this game has 0f throws like in GG, jump up and toss them out of their homing dash, haha.

Edit: oh right, the dragon rush thing is this game's throw, guess that's not going to happen.

I hope you mean Super as in DBS 17 & not the travesty that is GT Super 17.

I hope everyone on the Universe 7 team is playable. That means Roshi, Tien and Android 17 as well. I feel like everyone else is a lock. What's cool about this team is that all major sagas of Dragon Ball are represented, even the early days. Other safe bets include Future Trunks, Kid Buu and Beerus.

From there I would personally prioritize Super over the movies. Characters like Hit, Goku Black and Zamasu would be great to see.

That hitbox response is weird, most DBZ alt costumes wouldn't do that.

I guess that's easier to explain than, our animation process is so insane it would make that hard to do. They might charge for them
 
Am I the only one who wants Cooler?? His character looks like thrift store frieza, but his final form is super badass. I'm set if we get him and Broly.

Why?

The way it worked in Persona allowed new players to get in some reliable damage if they landed a hit, while more advanced players would be encouraged to perform real combos as they were FAR more damaging and way more meter efficient.

I'm not saying the system is perfect, but it certainly works well enough.

Oh, you mean disable it so that you don't actually perform one yourself. Yeah, that is fair.
