Zenos' voice sucks assssss. Had to go through Pipin 3 times cause I didn't realize I could destroy the swords lol

Was spooked to highhell from this instance because losing makes you likely to pay the horrible price of getting back into queue hell, or I guess purgatory.

I got rid of so much crap off my WHM bar. It feels really empty now.

Didn't have an issue getting past Raubahn. Most of Exodus seems to just be chilling by Conrad at the moment, though.

Got a question about mining/botany collectibles. Just getting into them at lvl.56 Miner with lvl.55 full gear set and 600 GP.

I'm reading rotations for 600 GP and they all include like 3 uses of 200GP actions. The problem is that when doing a unspoiled node, the first action I have to do is the out of reach action which costs a whopping 300 GP so I only have 300 GP left after that to do a single 200 GP discerning eye action and that's not getting me to high enough quality for these 450 quality+ turn ins.

Am I missing something?

You are supposed to reveal them manually, that is, click the slot that the thing you want is in. This uses up a single gather but it saves you a ton of GP. The tough part is being able to do the "reveal hit" with only one tap. That comes down to how high your gathering stat is.

Due to the changes I can't find a good Dragoon rotation guide online. I'm lv 54 and still doing Dragoon quests (on Sky's the Limit right now) so getting a current action setup has me all confused. Anyone know how I should be set up right now? Despite like 200+ hours on this game if not more much of this stuff still confuses me for the most part and I'm just trying to grasp it all.

Then the game introduced role actions to me and I don't know what that is either lol.

I just cleared the first dungeon. How were you supposed to avoid the last boss's charm?

You don't. The point is, as far as I can tell, to face a direction such that you won't walk into AoE.

It has already been too long since I ran it but
you don't; you position yourself to deal with the direction you end up running in (face a clear path for Advance, back to a clear path for Retreat)
.

You don't. you have to position yourself so you don't walk into an aoe. If it says "retreat" you turn around and walk backwards. if it's "advance" you walk forwards.

Not that it really matters because it does pitiful damage and you'll avoid most of it just by looking at her.

I've just messed around with them on my own, and I'm a dummy so someone might come out later with something better later but these work fine for me:

50+60 rotations. Same as before just drop phel. You clip chaos thrust like a second early but eh. Can't really avoid it.

50: HT->Chaos Thrust Combo->True Thrust Combo x2-> Repeat. Put B4B before Chaos Thrust and the jumps wherever should be good.
60:Basically the same except you rotate right back into the beginning of the combo instead of doing True Thrust combo twice. Pop Blood of the Dragon right after disembowel and B4B after your first HT. Use every other damage ability on cooldown.

No clue about the 70 rotations TBH. I'm letting everyone else figure it out and it'll be there by the time I get to 70.

DRG's rotation seems infinitely more forgiving and therefore more fun. I know some people really enjoyed how obnoxiously long the rotation was and getting all of your timings and cooldowns right, but now I can actually focus on the fight rather than worrying about squeezing in one more Geirskogul.

Now that it seems things are mostly working, I'm slightly jealous of the SB progression, lol
Well it's my fault, but I'm still having a blast with HW. I figure as soon as I get to Idyllshire I suppose I'll start gearing up with stuff I can get for Poetics. I'm almost 60 at least.

In terms of maxing damage at 70, it's still a bit of a mess. Trying to not waste an eye by popping a Mirage Dive before entering Life and fitting the most you can under B4B is still a bit weird on timing. It's at least a bit more obvious how to do this all now. It's also way less of a DPS plummet when you fuck up or at least that's my impression.

I'm having such a blast going through Stormblood. HW was great but this is a level higher imo. Had to make myself take a break lol. The changes to Bard has made the job very enjoyable and I commend whoever took the reins on it. I'm already level 68 but only up to level 65 dungeon. The whole Raubahn/Pipin fiasco put me ahead in xp.

Man, I thought Zenos' english VA was the only one so far that was decent. A little overacting in places but a far cry from the usual soap actors and Crestfallen Warrior in the rest of the cast.

Very helpful, thank you! I'll mess around with this and as Stormblood exists a while and advanced players work out the kinks I'll do more research.

Got hit with the Cerberus Queue this afternoon. Friday and yesterday were absolutely fine, no queues to log in past the very first initial rush (which was only a few hundred at 10am Friday), no disconnects or anything. I didn't hit the Raubahn Roadblock because my main is/was SMN and I didn't like the changes so I decided to level SAM instead, but I had no problems with duty finder. It was fine this morning but I had to log out this afternoon and when I came back I got stuck waiting for 3 hours for a 3000+ person queue, got to <100 and was booted at which point it reset to 4000+. Don't think I'll be getting back on again tonight.

At least SAM and RDM are fun, I can definitely see RDM replacing SMN as my go-to caster. Just a shame everyone else in my group is way ahead of me now.

Looks like I'm gonna get in soon, but right before I have to go do some Father's Day stuff so my only option is gonna have to be the asshat that uses the retainer interface to idle so I don't have to face queue again when I get back.

Just getting into this game and loving it so far. Quick question though: What is the point of keeping some classes locked behind level 50 and the main story quests? I really want to play the Astrologian, but the idea of leveling that high only to reset and level all the way up again is really bumming me out.

AST, DRK, and MCH start at level 30, so they get a headstart. SAM and RDM start at level 50. It's really not that much re-leveling as you get the armory bonus and have more options available to you to level.

Just before I head to bed, want to say thanks again to Roek for helping me through my first FFXIV dungeon. In about 50 levels' time I'll repay the favour. ;)

Have there been any tests yet on the new PS4 pro patch versions? Both the high FPS and the 4K versions? I have it on PC but have considered picking it up on pro as well cause I use a controller mostly and have a 4K TV finally.

Pipin Extreme instance is bugged for me, can't target any mobs passed the initial pack of them.

I'm half-tempted to just level RDM to 61 and continue the MSQ with that. I'm not really enjoying SMN as much post changes but I'm having a blast playing RDM.

I'm liking the MSQ a lot so far, but I've hit a but of a lull recently. Azim Steppe takes way too long, and has too many poor or useless quests like finding sheep, collecting dung, delivering milk and talking to randoms. Hope it picks up a lot once I get out of here.

And damn do enemies start taking a lot out of you from the Lv65 dungeon. I was shocked and had to properly play full defensive mode and manage my cooldowns efficiently. That 2nd boss was awesome as well

Ok, that's less terrible than I thought. Thanks!

Quick question about the server transfer function in this game. I know Ultros is one of those realms where character creation is limited, but how does that work for server transfers? Have a friend who wants to try the game, but he hasn't been able to create a toon on Ultros the past two days (and with SB launch I doubt he'll have more luck for a while). He said he's willing to transfer though if the game grabs him, he just wants to be able to play for a bit to see. Would he be able to pay later on to xfer to Ultros, or are they blocked in some way? I assume that transferring works the same as making a new toon, in that he can transfer whenever he could also create a character, but just wanted to make sure.

Also, random question but are there any weird things that don't transfer correctly or get reset that he would want to avoid doing? I'm sure things like houses or some stuff with retainers don't move over but I'm sure as a new player he wouldn't be getting to any of that anytime soon.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Loved the first dungeon of SB in terms of visuals. The area transition at the beginning was really neat. I hope we see more details like that in future dungeons.

Challenge level is what you'd expect I guess. Doing blind runs where nobody knows what happens makes it a little more challenging so at least there's that. First two bosses are whatever while the last one was fun enough.

Finally started doing the EXDR dungeons and it looks like grade VI materia drops there. Combat materia market should be basically dead long-term, depending on drop frequency. I got three in one run so it seems pretty high?

Also the worst part about no ACT and the combat changes to buff bars is that it is impossible to tell how the rest of your party is performing. I have no idea who to Balance!

The dungeons really do seem to increase in quality; the third one is the first really exciting one but even the second one has some mechanics that were kind of neat/memorable. First is atmospheric but less inspired overall. Maybe.

We still pulled everything like it was EXDR, but the bosses were pretty hype.
