June Wrasslin' |OT| Break Out Naan And Do The Needful, It's Time For MaharaJEEEEEZUSS

I'll be honest, I ain't mad at Jinder or Corbin getting the wins last night. Jinder is making a fan out of me. He has the character work down, he just has to get better in the ring. Corbin was a good pick for the MITB too. While you wanted AJ or Nakamura to win, Corbin is the one that needed it most. It will elevate him. He's becoming a good "fuck your favorites" kind of character.

On the other hand, I don't know what happened with the rest of the show aside from the Usos being awesome heels.

I don't mind Jinder or Corbin. It's good to have actual heels for once instead of tweener type heels.

It'll be a 10 minute SD match that ends with KO running out and causing a DQ.

Naw, they saw the reaction that spot got at MITB. They treated it like a big thing and it got the reaction of a big thing. It's going to be either a Summerslam match or a Mania match or both.

Is there any plausible reason to think the WWE is smart enough to turn the MITB story into being that Carmella cheated and they'll have to re-do the match with Ellsworth banned?

Hasn't the WWE blew big matches in the wrong moments a few times over the past few months?

I think it's safe to say that Vince doesn't interpret things the way most people do.

Nattie doesn't suck like at all. Not in the ring anyway.

And disagree that this wasn't the right match. It was great and only getting better before that farce of an ending.

I could swear Natalya botches often and has no sense of control/confidence. She often makes silly botches that make her seem like an amateur.

Again, Becky and Charlotte are the only 2 who feel legit. Compare it to the men's match where everyone feels like an all star, and then compare it to the women where Tamina, Carmella, and Natalya feel undercooked for such a match. What's the point of expecting a historic ladder match if it pales in comparison to the talent of the men?

Becky and Charlotte get massive pops because they are huge stars, but they are held back because of the huge disparity in talent between them and the rest. Its why I didnt care much for Ellseworth interfering because I figured most knew the womens match to be a watered down mess.

These historic moments are important but this was the result of corporate marketing and less to do with good talent. If the match lacked James' interference, i still think it would have never been remembered outside of being a "first ever", and that's because 3/5 of those women are unmemorable.

It's the equivalent of a MITB where AJ, Nakamura are thrown in with the Driftor, Erick Rowan, and Tye Dillinger.

There is so much wrong with the womens division... they are a small group, they are split, the talent difference is big, they are constantly feuding with each other, and the booking is off the walls infuriating (Bayley).

Fans desperately want these historical moments because they want them to become standard, but it should never be forced because the result is a marketing stunt where the memorability isn't the talent in the ring, but the simple idea that having women use ladders is somehow indicative of genuine progress. We shouldnt be patting WWE on the back for this match as if women using ladders is SUCH a foreign thing that they can rest on this achievement for months to come. Because in those months, the women will continue to be booked like shit.

Only participants today, the blocks are announced on the 26th and the matches on the 27th.

Not sure there'll be too many surprises this year, tbh - Juice deserves a spot. Suzuki will be in it for sure, maybe ZSJ and Davey Boy Jr. as well. Unless they drop some NJPW guys from last year's line-up, that leaves one open spot for grabs - Cody, or someone interesting?

Saw lots of people begging for Sekimoto and Riddle, both are booked in London during the G1. Others have touted the possibility of Kento, he'd probably have to eat some shit but it'd be a real high profile opportunity. WALTER would be my pick for an outside name, though - based on nothing more than I'm sure he'd be a perfect fit for NJPW.

Riddle can just double book himself in the G1 ;)

Except Carmella didn't cheat. There is a history with ladder matches where if the belt or whatever is hanging ever falls for whatever reason, whoever gets it first gets it.

Holy god almighty that Suwama/Miyahara match.

Now we get Suwama/Ishikawa which will be a fine hoss battle!

I really enjoy the story that they told in Miyahara vs. Ishikawa and Miyahara vs. SUWAMA. I wrote about those matches in greater length here and here, respectively, but in short, I like that Ishikawa had Miyahara thoroughly scouted. He could block the Blackout knee and break out of the Shutdown German suplex. He was smart enough to give up the Splash Mountain when Miyahara countered it the first time with a headscissors. On the other hand, Miyahara had no answers for Ishikawa's offense, and that was enough for Ishikawa to beat him.

In the next major singles match, Miyahara tries something new by targeting SUWAMA's arm. However, Miyahara's not a submission specialist, so it's all fairly new to him. This allows SUWAMA to use his power offense to take Miyahara down.

It's a smaller scale version of the story NJPW is telling about the diminishing reliability of Okada's Rainmaker. Miyahara relies heavily on the Blackout knee and Shutdown German suplex, but those moves have been figured out by his opponents. It's now on Miyahara to figure out something new or fall to the wayside.

Just finished Suwama vs Miyahara and I absolutely agree. Loving the booking across the board.

Hell yeah AJPW friends <3

So my favorite author Stephen King is doing a book tour in the fall for his new book with his son Owen. They've got tickets for the events and they're all around $40. Thing is, you get a copy of the book with the ticket with a chance at getting a signed copy. There is no author signing as part of the event, just a Q&A session.

I'm torn....I wanted to see Stephen King, but I more wanted to meet him and get a personalized signed copy of his book rather than just see him in a crowded audience Q&A.

I saw so many negative reactions to Mike and Maria but I love the idea, right down to him taking her last name.

How was Maria portrayed outside of the E? She didn't seem that bad here: she feels much better than she was years ago here.

Outside of the E she was always a diva and helped Mike out in his matches. The gimmick might not be bad, but the way it was done was just awkward and while I think they were going for cheese, it went too far in that way.

Trent & Wolfie at the Transformers premeire probably.

She was able to destroy the Bullet Club by herself (and the NJPW cameramen loved her)

Friends, I still have bad dreams about school, where I haven't gone to class all semester and I go and there is a test, or I'm late getting something in.

I haven't been to a class since 2010. I've had classes since but they were a slower pace and all online. I haven't done that since 2012 though.

I'll admit, the Seth Rollins story arc wouldn't be bad for a story mode. Shield -> Plan B -> Corporate Rollins.....you could even finish it off with his return at Mania.

Has Roman had a solo WWE game cover?

Goddamn if NJPW had a licensed game you bet Okada would have had at least 2 covers by now if not more.

What are you doing Vince?

Shield > Plan B > Authority > Injury > Return > nothings happening > nothings happening > nothings happening > nothings happening > its over

A couple of years ago a Rollins cover made a lot of sense. He's kind of a side show right now.
He's basically a CAW that lucked into landing his own cover.

Negative. Vince is probably trying to appease the nerds by putting out a Rollins cover first.

Simp Mike and Manipulative Maria is pretty goddamn good. Maria's been a really good promo going back to the ROH days now too

You can get weed in Japan, Sydal tried to fucking travel with it.

In his defense, it's apparently more for pain at this point
In his offense, Japan hates that shit

The only good things about Natalya is her hair last night, all her cat stuff, and her being married to Tyson Kidd.

Everything else is garbo.
