Android |OT8| ConFuchsia say beta is better

All of it still sadly.

Expect the opposite in terms of performance. OP will hold more apps in memory be way quicker and smoother experience.

In the end it's what you prefer. Samsung will have better screen, features and camera. While OP will be way better on software experience.

OP also has their horrendous customer support should anything go wrong.

meh. I'll have to think about it. I should be able to hold out till end of the year or see what deals are there on black friday for phones.

I remember I picked up the OP2 when it came out and I wanted to return it and they advertised no questions asked yet when I set up a return request they asked me a bunch of questions and eventually I had to put up a paypal claim and they never responded to the claim so I got it for free basically. It was such a joke I couldn't believe this was a real company.

Apparently they are working on it? They spent all that money on that feel good video!

I've had issues with samsung though. Only Apple is good.

Customer service has improved a ton. I've returned a couple of phones through them. It's a quick process now.

Phone is a beast speed wise. You won't find a faster phone right now. If you care about software and speed OnePlus is the best option.

For $439 I need a microsd card slot. Only saving grace is 8 gigs of ram because my phone and computer will have the same ram.

Cons of the OP5:

Lack of faith in One Plus to provide two year of OS updates.

No microsd support in a flagship device.

No IR, waterproofing, FM radio, Daydream, (at least give me two out of four)

Camera is not flagship level according to some reviews.

No Google Now pane to the left.

Everyone cheats at benchmarks lol. Don't really see the point. Expect similar performance from same chips.

Don't get why people care about software support for oneplus that much. These phones hold resale value better than pretty much any other android phone because they don't go on sale the day after launch.

Just upgrade every year!

Yep you can sale it a year later and basically only lose $50. They improved the vibration for you Jeffrey!! lol

Not everyone is as rich as you.

I do agree that people make too much of a big deal on software supports. I bet these same people get pissed when Windows updates their software.

With bezels that big, you would think they could have dual front firing speakers on there. The abysmal screen to body ratio, average battery life, and good but not great camera alongside the price tag - makes this a pass.

Bezels aren't that big. They are the same as 3t and 3T bezels were pretty small unless you compare it to g6 and s8. Also from all reviews I've been watching battery life is very good and much better than average. No ois sucks though especially when their focus is camera.

Hmm not too sure on the OP5. Speaker placement, 1080p display, questionable camera quality, no waterproofing and other quirks for £500 is a hard sell for me.

The first official thing of the OP5 that I saw was a Jeff rig everything and you can see when he zoom in the fucking pentile pixel lol

One french review site that I follow is saying that the Zoom optic is trash and nonsense, they are adding a numerical zoom on top of the 1.3x optical one to have a 2x zoom ...Wut?

I will pass
I'm waiting for LG to release the G6+ in Italy, but LG is stupid

Seems like pretty much every review is Luke warm about the camera, the one thing oneplus spent effort on this year.

Hope they can get a refund from Dx0.

Seems like op5 8gb still can defaults to max 32 background processes out of the box lol. Guess I'll root mine when it comes.

I'm prepared for the backlash :( curse me getting so bored with devices so quickly I need to check myself into some sort of help programme.

Hmm...I was excited for the OP5 but I think I'd rather just spend a little more for the Moto Z2 (getting announced this month?) or maybe the S8 with the deals they're having.

Besides 8GB RAM, does it do anything better?

Besides being the fastest and smoothest android experience around until op6, that's really about all it has atm lol.

If performance isn't an issue get a s8. So many deals like daily.

Don't care about the screen or camera. I was ready to preorder when their guy was talking about how smooth and fast their shit is.

2 months with old Samsung give me something with a bit of zip pls.

I'd rather get the next Motorola tbh, assuming it's in the $600 range. My last Samsung was the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch so I'm not a big Samsung fan boy.

I'm not worried about RAM/battery life/display resolution as much as I am concerned about the camera quality and ease of warranty claims. But I've been kinda spoiled on the latter due to motocare on my Moto X pure.

Hope I can sell one of these OnePlus 5 for $50 profit when they came in since I'll have it before official release. I need to try out the dcip3 color spectrum setting to see if it prevents me from getting headaches looking at their shitty pentile screen.

Also usb 3.0 is pretty pointless on a smartphone. At least it has Bluetooth 5.0. That will be big in Oreo.

How is it useless? Especially if you have your own media it's a huge difference. You don't realize how slow 2.0 is until you use 3.0 consistently and then go back.

It's typically around 3x faster for me. Only a big difference when transferring gigabytes of data, which I never do to my phone, but everyone is different.

1080P is such a waste of time. And there isn't waterproofing? L.O.L. Where's the freaking OIS???

What was so impressive for an impluse buy? The ram?

8 gigs of RAM in a phone is a complete waste of time.

Even for futureproofing sake, 6 gigs is plenty.
