THERE'S the rumored "Ninjago modular!" So I wasn't crazy - I did read about that somewhere months ago.

Now I need to go figure out where, and start following whoever said it...

€329 in Belgium. Think I'll better start saving up.

£259.99 in the UK.

It's a good price-per-part, but man, that's gonna take some pretty creative hiding to keep it away from my other half if I give in.

Hmm, wonder how we'll that'd sit with modulars, in real life.

That's actually pretty reasonable. Do you think it'd fit up your shirt?

I was checking brickset to see if I own any other Ninjago and apparently I bought 70756 Dojo Showdown last year but have no idea what I did with it. I literally have no recollection of deciding to buy it or opening it, and I don't see the box anywhere.

That sounds like a sensible shout, assuming Europe gets Double VIP too. Thankfully I've never seen Star Wars, so can avoid sinking money into that facet of Lego!

Usually there is a double VIP in Europe somewhere around october I guess?

On Lego's facebook they said it doesn't have the technic pins to connect it to modulars. I don't see any in the pics. But ya, it would fit next to one and you could add one; would need to be a corner building of course.

I think it demands a Blade Runner/Neotokyo type cityscape MOC though, instead of just placing it next to existing modulars

It's visible on some of the detailed picks?

And maybe this one too:

or arent the technic holes not spaced in the same way as the modulars?

I think this set might be modular in and of itself, those technic pins are how the rooms connect to one another.

Yes, but the two 2X1s with technic holes by the elevator are on the ground floor and are ten studs apart from each other, just like the modulars... Don't think there is another part fitting in that? I can be mistaken, but it seems like it's made to fit with the modular line...

I wonder if, with things like the ideas sets, LEGO have nailed the logistic side of things to allow them to do crazy batshit sets like that huge Ninjago one at relatively low volumes and low risk?

Also, it looks like it's not on a baseplate, so the technic pins won't line up with a modular because of the height of the single brick height on a baseplate is shorter than on a plate.

This might be the most stacked field for the annual "Top 10 sets of the year" list ever, and the year isn't even half over yet.

Any rumors on the Winter set this year?

And possibly two ships in the running for set of the year this year is crazy. And a Ninjago modular beating out the regular modular building release, a very good one at that, is also insane.

Thanks! What are your thoughts on the ones from the Lego Batman movie?

EDIT: Jang was pretty critical of the Batcave you mentioned, but its good to get more than one opinion!

Both the LBM Batcave and the Classic Batcave represent their respective source material, it comes down to which era you are looking for.

That said, I'm critical of the Classic Batcave as well - it definitely has it's flaws (giant tan wall I am looking at you), but it does have its merits and represents something that I grew up with.

The LBM Batcave is a fine set, it's just very much set in the LBM world. I do wish they would have used the piece-count from the Penguin duck to flesh out the cave itself however.

First your meh about the Apollo Saturn V and now this? Ruthless.

I'm not "meh" on the V, just not in a hurry to grab it, but I have been ruthlessly picky in what I buy lately. I passed on the yellow sub, even though I like the beatles, passed on the cateram. Passed on a fair chunk of the lego batman movie sets
