Steam Summer Sale 2017 |OT| The Weather's Hot and the Deals are Not

Are they doing flash and daily deals this year? The mobile app is bugging out.

Getting a PS4 Pro has kind of tempered my desire to play games on PC that I could play on my PS4 so I'm hoping Civ6 will get a deeper cut.

Never jumped in to Banished when it first came around. Are any of you still playing it, does it have some longevity? At $4.99 it seems like a good price point to take a look.
It's not very deep but it has Steam Workshop support and there are mods that add a lot more to it. On the downside, using mods disables achievements.

Subnautica for 10 bucks?

How do people feel? And will it ever be "done"?

It's very very close to coming out of early access. They just patched in end game content today. I know lots are waiting for it to be done and I think it's a good time now to see it.

Sold all of the cards I got via the glitch, sold them all for about a dollar total. Not bad.

Lots of historical lows in my wishlist. Lots to buy. Might start making a shopping cart this evening.

Viewing my Friend Activity page isn't giving me stickers, it still shows quest as uncompleted :( Am I doing something wrong or is it just that broken?

Anyone else manage to get that PayPal deal (in the UK). Every time I try to click through to it I still get the 'can't save any more offers for this merchant at the moment' message.

Was Torment a disappointment for most people? I like to try and play most GOTY contenders for genres I like, but reviews don't look too good so maybe I should skip it.

Torment had publisher issues that required them to strip out promised kickstarter content (most of it was already in the game in betas). Inxile has been adding it back in but the damage is already done.

I want to get an old cRPG like one of the Balders gate games, Planetscape, IWD etc.

Which is the "best"? Are any of them Turn based combat? ( which id prefer)

Is hollow knight a frustratingly hard game?

Nope, it's satisfyingly hard.

Controls are tight, and enemies and bosses have telegraphed movements and patterns. So if you like MegaMan or Dark Souls difficulty type, you'll like Hollow Knight. No cheap deaths, no insta-deaths, many bosses and some sections are entirely optional as well.

Prey.

It's the best game I've played this generation and it runs very well on the PC.

NieR any day of the week. Prey is damn good too but Automata is a complete masterpiece.

Prey, 1000%

Nier, baby.

NieR: Automata. Turned out to be my favorite game of all time. Just that great.

Nier Automata's story is the best in any video game since Planescape Torment 18 (!) years ago.

People here wil say Nier and that's fine - I haven't played it but it looks amazing.

But Prey is just incredible. Severely underrated. *snip*

Cheers everyone! I decided to get Nier first, but I will absolutely get Prey sometime later this year.

Squad or PUBG

They both look fun but I can only buy one from steam with my credit (I tried using a coupon code for GMG but it's not working for me). Which one would you guys recommend?

If you have an account and have yet to purchase, they are emailing the discount after you already purchase the key from them?
I didn't buy my copy from them but I've received a couple codes that I was unable to give away. I'd hope they would not send codes to those that have purchased directly from them since that would be pretty useless.

I got an email from GMG randomly for 27% off PUBG. I dont want the game so I gave to a gaffer but they said it doesnt work.
Understood. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely purchase it if I get the email.

That does seem dumb, but I'm guessing it is an automated mail list.

Everyone is probably going to say PUBG, although I heard Squad is also good.

I'd get PUBG while it's heavily populated.

Everything that's on sale now is sale price for the entire sale right? Nothing on sale will be going lower in the next couple of days?

They're not old but the shadowrun returns series is recommended.

The Fallout series is also turn based. And Divinity: Original Sin

Correct, not cheaper on Steam anyway. Elsewhere is another story, nobody can predict that though.

Not the same type of games, at all.

Squad is more battle focused and teamwork capturing/controlling areas and advancing as you kill the enemy. (ARMA style is a close comparison I guess)

PUBG is drop down, hope you find things and that the server don't kill itself so people die when you shoot them and maybe you will win.

Honestly it has little depth so longevity is really the main issue I had with it. You very quicky feel like you are doing the same thing over and over and...........probably worth a punt if you are interested in 10 hours or so worth
Thanks guys, I might still give it a shot and use the refund process if I don't see much potential.

I've refunded a handful of games over the past month or so, anyone know at what point any red flags might be raised for abuse of their policy? I don't think I'm close to being there but ya never know.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Disappointed Night In The Woods isn't on sale. I'm wondering if the site just hasn't updated yet.
