What were the best graphical games at E3 2017?

No particular order.

Star Wars Battlefront 2,
God of War,
Uncharted Lost Legacy,
Day's Gone,
Spider-Man,
The Inpatient VR,
Ni No Kuni 2,
GT Sport,
Ori 2,
Cuphead,
Forza 7,
The Last Night,
Anthem,
Metro,
Middle Earth: Shadow of War,
Assassins Creed,

A ton of great looking games coming.

The Last Light was definitely the most interesting visually to me at E3.
Shame I won't be buying it as I wish not to support its dev, along with a lack of confidence in its story since the writer has a gross misunderstanding of cyberpunk.

The Anthem was the most impressive I saw from a traditional AAA sense.
Shame I doubt the final product will look anywhere near as good and we'll instead see severe downgrading as development progresses.

Basically what I'm saying is I'm cynical about what is shown at E3.

Assuming Anthem's demo wasn't doctored in any way it has to be the winner. Just the draw distance with everything shown and the dense landscapes along with all the animals/creatures running around. It looked like something out of Avatar. I think it was by far the only legit next gen showing at E3. Metro also looked amazing but it wasn't anything groundbreaking imo.

While that game looked incredible, I highly doubt you can fly anywhere or even in the distance in Anthem (what a horrible name). And that's pretty much the only reason I'm not too hung up on it.

But even if you can't fly everywhere, it looks absolutely insane.

Uncharted: lost legacy
God of War
The last night
Spider-Man
Cuphead (for the 3rd year in a row)
Mario
And Anthem (Day 1, but the first invisible wall I fly into I will throw up).

Going with OP's pick too, The Last Night.

I'm kind of numb to the "photo-realistic" look we get these days. So the more stylised games impress me more.

I liked the graphics of DBZ more than any other game.

This coming from someone who has never seen a single episode.

The last night does look amazing but unfortunately you will hear gamergate every time its mentioned in a thread . I'd have to say in the AAA realm its got to be anthem for i guess best graphical game. I would say Beyond good and evil but its just a cut scene. Its a bit difficult remembering now what looked best. I kinda feel we usually have a lot more artsy games at E3 but this E3 was lacking a few of them. I'm guessing mostly because of Sony not pushing indie games much this year. Microsoft had Ori but I don't remember if that had gameplay either. Spiderman, god of war, and uncharted all looked great but don't quite wow me. For smaller indie game last night wins the best graphics , its more style i think, and for AAA its anthem.

God of War looked outstanding.
I was totally shocked by Anthem's visuals but I don't think they will reach that visual level at launch.

I gotta say DBFZ because it took the existing bar of visuals in anime games (Xrd) and shot it into space and hit New Namek. It looks like the TV show.

Spiderman, DBZ, and the Last Night all looked amazingly polished and clean. Huge props to Mario x Rabbids too. Can't believe how clean and sharp that art style looks.

Not to shit on anyone's hype for Anthem, but I have a huuuuuuge distrust of any game that presents itself in a scripted format like that. Hope BioWare can pull it off.

Battlefront 2. DICE are wizards. Or maybe magicians considering their name.
Ori and the Will of the Wisp

God of War
Spiderman
Skulls and Bones
Ubisoft stuff was pretty, per usual.

Anthem looked really pretty. Not sure how I feel about the game, but it was really pretty. Mario+Rabbids looked really clean, and really nice. Nicolas Cage of War will undeniably be a graphical showpiece.

yup...

The creator is kind of an asshole...

There were a lot of incredible looking games.

Anthem
The Last Night
Crew 2 (except for that low-sample motion blur)
God of War
Spider-Man
Days Gone
Forza 7
Dragonball FighterZ
Mario x Rabbids (looks WAY better visually than Mario Odyssey)
Uncharted Lost Legacy

I also think a nice runner up status could go to Kingdom Come Deliverence... now only if the mouthing and lip sync were actually finished :/

Fantastic environments, asset materials, and global illumination though.

my problem with this is that it has ZERO STYLE.

it may as well be pretty 3D clip art.

Everything nowaday looks so fucking good that very little of it catches my eye, though that being said forza 7, spiderman, and the last night all look fucking incredible

Edit: fuck, dbz too, how the hell could i forget, i dont like fighters much and im getting that day 0

The Last Night
Spider-Man
God of War
Anthem
Cuphead
No no Kuni 2
Wolfenstein 2
Metro Exodus
Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Dragon Ball FighterZ

We've reached that point where most anything with a budget is going to look really good.

I don't even feel the need to point at any games in particular because they're all good enough to satisfy my desire for sweet, sweet eye candy. Of course, there's still room for improvement (especially with regards to hair), but that's just something that will come with time... and more hardware grunt, naturally.

I'm looking forward to maxing all these games out on my 1080 Ti. ;)

When your phrasing is meant to paint feminism as anti-equality, the cause of society's downfall in this dystopian cyberpunk future, and add a gamergate hashtag? It's starts to paint a picture of what his views actually are. There's a reason people are frustrated by this game. If it didn't leave such a strong impression, people wouldn't be expressing their disappointment at the creator so much.

Honestly, the notion of the "best looking technical game" has gone by the wayside I feel, because most games look sooo good nowadays, it's more down to the art and consistent aesthetic design that complement said technical accomplishments. That being said, God of War, Anthem, and Metro Exodus are all looking phenomenal to me.

Interesting.

I thought Odyssey looked good

Anthem was an easy #1, but I have a feeling that's going to get a hard downgrade before release. In terms of games that I know where running on their release hardware, Spider-Man looked pretty phenomenal.

I saw that pic on twitter, stunning looking considering the fact it's running on what is essentially a 6" tablet.

I really hope they can hit 1080p when docked as it would be a shame to have yet another great looking Nintendo game partially ruined by shit IQ.

1. Spider-Man
2. God of war.
3. Days gone.
4. Mario

Anthem does look phenomenal, but I think they will downgrade some of the more impressive gfx features before release, it was running on a pc with Xbox x specs so off the bat I'm not convinced the game will look as good once it comes out on consoles.

Anthem looked visually stunning. If they can achieve that kind of scale and vast environment as well as the character detail in the final game it's going to be mightily impressive.

Spider-Man also looked fantastic. The character model for Spidey looks crazily detailed, but I think I'm most impressed by the excellent animations.

I think God of war and spiderman and Mario. And because I believe the hardware they were running on was the PS4 and switch. Just like Horizon, no downgrades here.
