I would just get Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape and call it a day. Not sure if I would bother with soundtracks though. You can always come back to Icewind later, and those games are quite a bit different in that they are mostly all about combat. Baldur's Gate 1 is a good game but it's slow and it involves low level 2nd Edition AD&D gameplay which is YMMV unless you are used to it.

I DM a weekly DND game and figured the soundtracks were a nice little bonus if they are worth diving into the full bundle. My wallet would appreciate Baldurs Gate 2 and Planesscape though since I already spent 40$ on the sale.

I'm thinking about taking the plunge on the infinity collection with baldurs gate 1-2 and icewind dale and the soundtracks for 30.72. Is there a better deal on that anywhere?

Also planescape torment with the soundtrack as well as a separate purchase. Is the enhanced edition good? I'm so pumped to experience these classics because I didn't play many pc games growing up.
dunno about the enhanced edition but planescape is really good, hope you enjoy it

Thanks to everyone here and in the hidden gems thread that suggested Cosmic Star Heroine. I'm about 5 hours into it and absolutely loving the game. Been dying for more cyberpunk games, and it's everything I'd want in a cyberpunk JRPG-style game.
can u elaborate a bit on what that game's like?

is it basically a snes jrpg?

cos that sounds pretty dope

My Updated Cart and I am still holding....

It's about 41.00 more than I wanted to spend....

I'm thinking about cutting out Gaurdians of the Galaxy and waiting for a deeper sale on that. How was that game in comparison to other telltale btw?

Streets of Rogue is WAY better than I could have hoped. I think MGSV is great. Play Bayonetta if you haven't already. Those should be in your library, not your cart.

Still wondering if I would like Final Station myself...

It reminds me of chrono trigger and has one of my favorite rpg battle systems. The soundtrack is also great. I will say the story is a little lacking and has a lot of cheesy throwback stuff.

Why would you want to change the voices. English Geralt is superior.
Stick with movie subtitles, mate.

No. The English voice of Geralt takes me out of it. It is so off putting. His voice is fine, but the way it's been integrated into the game it feels like his voice is more of a voice over and comes out on top of the game, and not directly from the character in the game world. It feels so very disconnected, so much as it is like he isn't speaking to anyone in the game but rather in his own self contained bubble, and that is a problem.

I think I'm done building my list. I tried to keep the price below 40 but then someone had to open their big mouth about some puzzle games and that led me to Hardware Engineering...

Anything I could change before I hit buy?

Well gotten Stories Untold on Friday, and now coming back from my weekend trip, I going to get through House Abandon again tonight. Looking forward to the other episodes.

It would suck if the last day's final quest is buy a game from the store and you already have bought all the games you want and have no money left :p

Finally getting around to buying CS:GO. Went to the store page and the game is on sale for $10.04. I notice below that it shows the Valve Complete Bundle which offers this game (the only one I don't have) for only $4.52 to complete the collection. So yeah, I'm gonna take that option. So head's up to anyone else, be sure to check bundles before you buy any Valve games...

Yeah pretty much, it pays homage most to Chrono Trigger I feel. The combat system reminds me a lot of it. My only gripe with the game is the first couple of hours are very linear... like FF13 linear, but it opens up a bit more after a few hours.

It definitely feels like a classic JRPG though. The characters are all great, good designs all around. Story isn't spectacular, but it's serviceable.

It's a good idea to pay attention to bundles, even if it's not Valve. Steam's way of handling already owned games in a bundle is very generous. I got Civilization 6 for 55% off because it's in a bundle with XCOM2 which I already own. Without the bundle the game would have "only" 40% off instead.

In SteamGAF news, in the Irish immigrant thread I learned that Saorsie Ronan is...American? It's like my whole world is upside down.

Out of curiosity regarding the Sticker quests: Can you only do the 3 quests the day they get added or do they just get unlocked and you have the rest of the sale to complete them?

One purchase so far, so the usual goal of buying as less games as possible during a sale is going pretty well this time. Asking myself "Do you really intend to play that or is it going to add to the pile of never played stuff?", followed buy "Do you have time to play it?" is doing a big favour to my wallet.

At least I learned the lesson from the 2016 winter sale: Don't get near a computer if you are heavily drugged on prescription painkillers while stuck in a hospital. I had forgotten what it was like to have a backlog.

So this was in my discovery queue..wtf?! lol

I bought it, but ended refunding it when I found that you need at least three players for local couch coop (no AI). I can get another person to play this while drunk, but three is a bit too complicated.

What if I missed a quest?
Don't worry - missed quests can still be completed at any point during the Steam Summer Sale.

Started Nights of the Azure for the first time and I can't believe how many little things this port got wrong. Third person action game with no mouse controls, no way to set my keyboard bindings, no way to skip the initial cutscene, the rendered one skipping all over the place, no way to exit the game other than going ALT+F4 on it, no keyboard prompts if you aren't using a controller. I usually don't shit on KT. Their games play fine for me performance wise but I really have to wonder what kind of person works on these ports and think stuff like this is acceptable.

I keep saying that they have a different intern locked in a closet for every port who starts from scratch.
Explains why there is absolutely no consistency.

Are we allowed to discuss trading here ? Basically I wanted to buy some keys to trade for games but I see the keys I buy won't be tradeable for one week.
What happens if I buy keys outside of Steam marketplace ? Will I be able to trade them immediately ?

So, Streets of Rogue is getting some positive buzz during the sale. Anyone played it? Is it recommended in it's early access state, or should one wait?

Thinking about buying one more game, and right now it feels like either that, or Just Cause 3.

Haha, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If she were faking it, she surely would have slipped up by now.

Are we allowed to discuss trading here ?

Sure. The community/general thread is closed while Steam's seasonal sales are underway, so these sale-specific threads take their place.

Yeah. No cooldown is applied to traded keys, just those purchased in-game or from the market. I recently sold my two remaining CSI:HE spares for 35 keys a piece and immediately made a pretty penny.

How is Wasteland 2? I'm kinda looking for something to scratch that Divinity:OS itch. Is it closer to Fallout 1/2?

It's closest to actual Fallout 3 than what we got.
New Vegas is excellent.
I loved the game even on it's original form, but the directors cut supposedly improved it further more. Haven't gotten back to it.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
Anyone knows whether Hollow Knight has missable stuff or some timer to get endings?

I hated that in Valdis Story...

The only missable achievements are either/or scenarios. Pairs where you can only get one or the other per playthrough. No missable items.

For the endings,
I think you can basically skip the first ending movie if you don't face the final boss before doing some specific things. Bottom line, beat it earlier rather than later.

Pretty sure you're talking about this, which was the original Mount & Blade (not warband) and which you did miss.
