What pisses me off the most is that there's no communication from NOA. A simple "Pre-order will start this day/next week/month", or "we won't take pre-order this time" would be better than waiting all this time without knowing if or when pre-orders will be available.

I get why they wouldn't give a precise date. It'd be the same flood as letting people purchase day of/any other time. If they're not going to allow retailers to take preorders, though, a simple note would be much appreciated. And if they are going to allow them, a month or range would also be nice.

I get that this is a pretty ludicrous thing to want- a preorder schedule- so it probably didn't even occur to them to make any kind of plans known. I'd just like some consideration in the future, so long as their hardware is going to continue to be sold out instantly.

i have a feeling that amazon FR and CA preorders will be up soon, possibly before US preorders. both amazon DE and UK also restocked after the initial preorder sold out so i have a feeling the same thing will happen for FR and CA

Nintendo runs Amazon, Best Buy etc?

Ask journos to question NOA on this

The question/answer on Amazon lol

Question: Is Nintendo gonna make more than 10 of these? Secondly, is Amazon gonna put up the preorder at 4am on a Sunday night so that i wake up too late?

Answer: They are only making one and all that are interested will have to participate in a death match to win it. This death match will be held at 4:00 a.m. PST and the only weapon allowed is a controller with an irritatingly short cord.

I just wish I was given a day for when preorders would be available. Don't tell me the hour, that's not necessary and would probably only make it harder for people to get it. Just tell me it'll be on a Monday or something.

I can confirm
USB power and games run at 60Hz in english iirc. though i'm sure the power adapter wont work in the US.

Also if you UK and EU people hate that some of us NA people got pre-orders don't blame us, blame NoA for forcing us to be predatory consumers in order to survive.

It's up to retailers when they start taking pre-orders
The only thing I'd say to this is that I got an email from the Nintendo Official UK Store about doing preorders and I'm still waiting to hear anything from NoA about it. I hope they follow the same plan but I won't be surprised if they don't.

I hope so there's no link or anything like they had with the other ones.

Spectrum was my first system, or at least the one that I have the earliest memories of. I used to play a game on it that I'd love to know the name of, but I can hardly remember much about it...

I immediately had to declare war when he told me as I had C64 as my first computer and that's just how things are done.

I've also got a game like that that I've only vague memories of. Something to do with a ninja and breaking into a house... maybe. Edit: Could your game be Head over Heels? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_over_Heels_(video_game)

The NES was next which is why I was excited about the NES Classic. That thing brings back nostalgia in spades. After that I moved to Amiga so this is going to be my first ever SNES in any form. I know it sounds odd but I'm really looking forward to playing some of these classics with official Nintendo (non-virtual console) hardware and real Nintendo controllers. This things going to get used as a scalper I am not.

I was assuming N64 was the next one, but completely forgot about the portables. I weep for anyone that wants one if they release multiple colors too.

Maybe they will bring the N64 mini next and save up the release of the Game Boy mini for its 30th anniversary - so in 2019.

Some of those are pretty entertaining. This one gave me a good chuckle too:

Q :"Is the cartridge slot operational? Will it be able to play game cartridges as well?"

A: " The cartridge slot is operational. You need to insert all your money into the slot. Nintendo will then digitize the money where they print it all back out at their headquarters."

...hate me...
At least it can change games without having you get up from the sofa...if the controller was long enough to reach the sofa
Even if the controller was... the button to switch games is on the console itself.

They should've added a cheeky hidden home button to the controller.

Ordered one each from german Media Markt and Saturn. :)
Damn, didn't know that the US SNES looked completely different from the EU/Japan one? Even the controller buttons.
The US SNES is butt ugly!

was it a perm?

Only a (short) temp ban, I hope. Should be enough to scare away others who might have thought to post a similar joke.

Hmm good to know. I have an Amazon UK preorder, and TBH, I like the look of the European version more.
Same. In the US myself and this version is a lot more appealing even though the purple monster does scratch my nostalgia itch. Plug in USB for power and hdmi for video and all is good.
