I haven't played it so I wouldn't know how anime it is. Is it Metal Gear Solid levels of anime or closer to Halo? I assume all fiction is some level of anime right?

Edit: What about anime in general? Does "anime" automatically mean it's bad or is there a scale of some sort where it can have either a positive or negative connotation?
Nah. Anime stories can be cool.
I wouldn't know, I find most anime I've seen trash. but the nier: A story is fucking phenomenal.
Maybe I just expected too much after reading how people though about the story for days after playing through the game.
Does Dan's story really surprise people? Half the people in college don't do shit.
And yeah, most of them fail, but if you're smart at gaming the system and get lucky a bit there's probably plenty of stuff you can pass without much effort.

No offense, but that kinda means nothing without the context of actually playing the game. It's basically like reading the plot of a movie on wikipedia and then saying that movie wasn't good.
Fair enough. I'm sure playing through it myself the story would have a way bigger impact on me. I'm just Jeffing it.

Could anyone but Dan pull off the stuff he did in college? Feels like the biggest anomaly ever.

You gotta give Dan credit for at least talking to the professors about it.

I know lots of people who would have just taken the F without even trying to do anything about it.

Having initiative is good.

Ok, then. I guess something more descriptive than the term anime would probably be better to explain your position since it can be both a positive and a negative. Maybe not here or maybe at least in spoiler tags, since some people in the thread seem a bit restless.

I don't see how people get mad at Dan for his college stuff. He figured it out. He worked around it and succeeded.

Film school isn't real school anyways

This is my fear as well. It's been hyped up so much that I'm worried it won't meet my expectations when I finally get around to it.

Nah, that's not needed.

Attack on Titan is a good example of what I consider an anime going too anime.

The setup of that show is amazing. The visuals are striking, the outset stunning. I really love the first few episodes. It completely shits the bad in the second half though in my opinion. It adds layers upon layers of complexity that waters down the initial premise, just so it can add dramatic moments and nonsense.

I also use Attack on Titan as an example since it's pretty much the only anime I've watched.

You know, I'm an expert.

I'll watch One Punch Man eventually, I promise.
Nah he's just salty nobody plays Zelda.
DLC isn't out until the 30th, pre-order now.

The issues with Attack on Titan are related mostly to character archetypes and some ham-fisted arcs intermingled with some interesting world building, characters, and a much wider story. As for the anime, it's at bit more melodramatic than it needs to be. It's not great by any stretch, but it's not as watered down as you think it is. It's complexity comes from being a story much bigger than Eren and his buddies and it would be boring if it remained small and closed off from the larger world.

OPM is pretty great, but it's also pretty dang anime. There are also better anime out there if you are actually inclined to watch something genuinely good.

I can increase The Crew 2's chances at GOTY

if it's anything like The Crew 1, it has loot.

The Crew 2 - It's like Destiny 2 but CARS

What if it's more like the Crow?

Also, the Crew isn't the one where you're shooting up all of the scared New Yorkers in the name of freedom right? I still get those confused.

The Nier discussion on the Bombcast ends weirdly with Brad talking about 80 hours games. 30-40 hours is enough to see most of it, and you can buy the trophies you missed with in game currency if you care about that. The gameplay and the open world aren't really interesting enough to justify grinding out the harder trophies.

Why is The Division the game where we suddenly have an issue killing gangs in video games?

Did everyone get upset that Mike Haggar was superplexing scared Metro City civvies?

In other news, I launched Steam World Heist for the first time today and that game seems amazing. Super polished and great fun. Would be perfect for Switch but now I'm playing it on PC. Cool little game.

I would argue that the gameplay and the open world aren't interesting enough for 30-40 hours.

how was it? I'm from San Francisco and absolutely loved the setting so I'd like an excuse to go back to it for a few hours, but Ubisoft DLC is pretty rough sometimes...

It's short but pretty good. I got it because it was 50% off on Steam for the Summer sale and I liked WD2 enough that I figure I'd use it as an excuse to come back to it. I usually don't like short DLC, I don't want to bother 'relearning' a game just to play it again for like an hour and never come back but I liked WD2 enough that I figure I'd check it out. There's some fun missions but nothing really super innovative to WD2 or anything. It feels like more of the same, climbing up buildings, hacking cameras, good characters.

Jordi was kind of a disappointment because I really liked him in WD1 because he was the only character to like in WD1 but in 2 he comes off as obnoxious. I don't know if he was always that way and just was amazing compared to the other people in WD1 or if it's just the characters in WD2 are SO much better written.

Hmmm okay I might check it out then, thanks for the info! Did you buy both of the story packs or just one of them?
