PS+ July: Until Dawn and Game of Thrones for PS4

Best girl.

Damn straight, she's a riot. And I think if pushed, I'd have to say that the best part of the game is Emily in the mines. I'll say little more for those who've not yet played the game and plan on doing so, but man the whole vibe of that section is off the hook. The graphical fidelity, the camera angles, the sound design... I was shitting bricks.

I checked the list and it was never offered. I think it was just Episode 1. Life Is Strange's first episode was also free for a while, I think, before all episodes were given away this month.

I think you're spot on with first free episode. I think some on here are confusing the first episode with the entire game.

bish gets all the credit :)
These games will be up tomorrow or when exactly, I keep forgetting.
When the store updates tomorrow. It's a holiday tomorrow in the US, though. Whether that means they update early or late or on time is anyone's guess.

All 7 games are free now in EU.

Time for everyone to play masterpiece Until Dawn.

Masterpiece might be a bit of a hyperbole. Game's very good indeed but the 'make-your-own-story-based-on-your-choices' promise is still just as fake as in Heavy Rain and the likes. The story always plays out the same and your actions only determine which character reaches the finish line or not.

I'll get a bit more enthusiastic for these type of games when your choices really start pushing the story in different directions.

Heavy Rain has a lot of smoke and mirrors sure, but it actually gets quite open-ended in its second half. Far more so than Until Dawn.

Miss the classic, carefully framed, fixed perspective horror games of yore?

Until Dawn delivers the goodies!

That's what about $130+ worth of games (if you're interested in everything), not a bad month.
Then there's the previous months and the months to come, PS+ is still paying itself even with some stinkers.

Pretty good month

Pretty underwhelming for me personally, since I already had Until Dawn (I bought it on my US account during a sale) and I know nothing about Game of Thrones. I think there's a meme related to what I just said, but I wouldn't be able to tell you...

But it's a good month for those who haven't played Until Dawn yet, that's true.

Damn right on all accounts. Pretty funny to see all the hate for her, but Im pretty sure even the creative director said she was his favourite haha. Never minded her bitchiness. Also fuck
Mike forever for pointing that gun

One sitting? Hah, okay, I'll definitely pass. Thanks for the answer.

Until Dawn is not a one sitting game unless you're planning to play from dusk till dawn for a realistic experience. ;) And even then you won't see all the endings (they're actually worth unlocking unlike the ones in Telltale's games).

As far as I'm concerned, as long as the story is engaging, what does it really matter?

I supposed it might matter if you care about multiple play throughs, but even then it a little unrealistic to expect branching paths to diverge off in wildly different directions. Niche games like this aren't made with an unlimited budget.

Beating a game in one sitting is wrong? Even if it's one hour I can't imagine whats so wrong with its so angry at a great game being one hour that a person would rather just skip it? Makes sense, hah.
Angry? What are you talking about?

I was asking because my PS+ lapsed and I was wondering if it was worth re-activating. From what I know about the game, no, it's not worth it for me. That's it.

I see. Still not convinced it's worth reactivating my subscription though. I absolutely loathe Telltale-like games.
