Yeah, seems like it is faked. I really want to know what's up with those coordinates though. Has no one else taken a look yet?

Someone who actually went to the coordinates and supplied proof. Looks completely different from the area the Reddit poster took pictures of...also the pictures are in daytime and he said they found the box at night lol.

Right, so that other thing is clearly fake then. I'm disappointed there isn't actually anything there though. Hmmm.

Anyway, thanks!

In their story they said that they had to go do something else for a while. Hence why the later pictures were at night. Although it's probably a fake.

If I didn't know any better, I'd assume Bill Hasting's rant about what happened with Briggs was Lynch almost poking fun at die-hard Twin Peaks fans and their obsession with the show. "I've never seen anything like it. Never read anything like it. You don't know, you weren't there! It was beautiful!"

It was a weird episode for me. Between the scene in the police station with the Fuscos, Bill Hastings in jail, Johnny Horne, the Brennans with their chairs, Major Briggs' capsule hidden in a chair, it felt the most like old Twin Peaks the Return has yet to me. I have to say, I think if the entire return felt like this, I would have been disappointed. Maybe the feeling was amplified because it followed episode 8.

It wasn't bad, but the way the show is heading overall is much better and more interesting than rehashing the feel of the first two seasons. That aside, Albert was absolutely killing it with one-liners and like everybody else on planet Earth, I was glad to see him and the morgue lady get some time together on screen.

Didn't somebody say the trials from the premier should have already ended by now?

Most definitely, it was only a 4 week trial.

Showtime is on multiple streaming services, though. I've been bouncing around free trials.

The morgue lady being Albert's match was delicious.

Your sentiment is pretty much the opposite of a lot of people here, lol.

Personally, I think the way the show has oscillated its direction from one episode to the next has been a brilliant strategy. Going from 8 to 9 is a stark contrast. I enjoy the weird arthouse shit a lot, but I also love some solid character development and humor.

Not sure how they're tracking it all, but I added showtime to my amazon prime subscription and have watched exclusively Twin Peaks on it. Hopefully, that means something to them.

The closer the premier got the more worried I became that Frost & Lynch were going to try to force it so I was pretty glad when thus far The Return has been it's own thing while continuing the threads of TP and FWWM. I don't think you can do that same show now and not have it feel out of place. Which is weird because more of the same is what I would have told you I wanted when they announced The Return. I dunno, it's like the idiom "You can't go home again". Episode 9 is still good TV, I just don't think it's up to snuff with the best parts of the first eight episodes.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Loved the episode. Definitely felt like one of the most traditional Twin Peaks. But I also enjoy how varied each episode has been so far. I like that we can go from Episode 8 surrealism, symbolism, and horror to goofy mystery subplots of Episode 9. I like that no matter how tonally erratic the season might seem, the content within and the moods evoked all seem totally relevant and interwoven. It really does feel like an 18 hour long movie in that respect, with a lot of indulgence in what would otherwise be far, far shorter sequences and scripting in a more confined cinematic length. It gives us stuff like an entire Episode 8 followed by Episode 9.

I also really like XANDER's assessment from much earlier on with how Season 3 does appear to be a modernized "Twin Peaks" in the most symbolic and thematically relevant sense. The shock of the original series and its careful balance of satire with seriousness wouldn't be entirely applicable all these years later. Still enjoyable maybe, and a nice homage, but not as relevant in the same way Twin Peaks was for its era. Season 3 takes that similar vision and philosophy of direction and scripting, but given context of modern tropes and standards of television and cinema. It's distinctly Twin Peaks, but "aged" in the way that Twin Peaks as an artwork should be.

Was scrolling through the SDCC panel list and saw that Friday July 21st will have the world premiere of Part 11. Damn, I hope I don't run into any spoilers waiting for Sunday.

Am I crazy or the only one under the impression that The Arm's doppelgänger possibly took over Ike's hand? I thought when he was getting arrested the hand made some kind of sound as it seems to zoom in on it, but podcasts and most people seem to say it was just Ike. The Arm did say "rip his arm off"?

I just thought it possible with the arm saying that then it seeming to make a sound in the same episode that Jerry's foot says "I am not your foot."

I thought the arm was trying to influence Dougie/Coop. But I am still a little confused about the whole thing since the Arm was initially the Man From Another Place who is evil. But the Evolution of the Arm seems to be helpful, with its doppelganger being potentially evil, sending Cooper to the Mauve Zone or whatever we want to call it.

He makes the same bummed out sad sound he made when his ice pick broke.

Bobby, Hawk, and Truman going to Bobby's mom house was one of my favorite scenes of the revival. Very Twin Peaks.

Me too. I really loved it.

As others said a couple of pages back, Major Briggs talking to Bobby about his dream vision was my favorite scene in the initial series. This really brought back similar feelings for me.

I have absolutely loved the new season but even I felt somewhat taken aback at episode 8 and how far from what we kinda know as Twin Peaks it was (even though I still loved it). I think they are really hitting a kind of nice balance at this point.

I keep hearing speculation that there are different timelines and that's why many of the characters have been in their separate bubbles with little crossover.

I feel like with this episode pretty much everything is pretty attached across all the story lines that it's at least in the same window of time. Some Twin Peaks things aren't really tied into other stories yet but that seems to be about all.

Dougie is in the same time as the Horne stuff by the key that was mailed, in the same time as Doop due to the Ike stuff which is then tied to the Buckhorn and FBI stuff. Twin Peaks stuff outside of Ben Horne is really the only stuff that isn't concrete yet.

Right, and really other than Horne everything else in TP could be in some other branch of a timeline. We really don't know.

So does it look like Hawk's look at the sheriff is "backwards" to anyone else? Kind of noticed it when I watched the episode and just brushed it off but then my friend brought it up when we were discussing the episode. Could this explain that scene of Hawk going to the pool of oil in the forest and it just cuts and he's back to investigating the next episode? Maybe he was pulled in and DoppelHawk is in his place. He found the page of Laura's diary after the forest scene though so I guess it doesn't make sense that his doppelgänger would bring it to everyone but who knows.

Edit: Seems like the gif doesn't want to work embedded so I just linked it

I know people love to read into these things, but I just think Lynch used a backwards shot here because it worked better for it to start with Hawk's reaction and pan right to left.

The private jet shot at the beginning of the episode was backwards. I find it odd that they'd let a detail like slip.

Was listening to one TP podcast today and they had an interview with Mark Frost which was done before the series came out and related to the Secret History and one thing he talked about was there being deliberate discrepancies between the book and the series in places and on certain matters because often times people's recollection of events and facts are malleable, which I thought was an interesting but fair point. History isn't an exact science, a lot of it is based on peoples memories and all, and so it's easy for dates, and sequence of events to get mixed up etc.

Yeah early on in the season I'd have been more inclined to believe the different timeline thing, but there are actually threads that tie together now.

It's basically his excuse for having continuity errors. I wouldn't rag on him for being not perfect but it is what it is.

Has anybody figured out yet what the light show on the windows of the FBI jet was about a few episodes ago? I assumed it was some kind of morse code or something but it feels like someone would have figured that out pretty quick.

Just finished reading The Secret History.
Definitely a recommendation for those who's closely following season 3 . Enriches the universe and various characters from the series and offers juicy tidbits.
Some of them that I didn't give a second thought got put in a new light.

Yeah. I enjoyed reading it last year, but it felt like only maybe a third tied into the series, and the rest was about topics Frost was personally interested in. Like I said, I enjoyed it, even when it seemed to be about other stuff going on in the world that didn't tie in.

I reread it during the one week break, and now it feels more like 3/4s is directly relevant. I'm very excited to see what the Final Dossier ends up being.

Can you talk about some?

There's about three references to White Sands. The final stuff from Briggs has more relevance. Babalon mother of all abominations seems VERY key.

Off the top of my head.
