gave away the keys to the kingdom.
From the Ori 2 E3 thread:

Another thing I noticed in the press materials is the game is described as coming to "Xbox One Family of Devices and Windows 10 Launch Exclusive". I guess that Ori should eventually come to Steam then.

Ori survived the blind forest but this launch is on another level.

Porting KH3 without any of the prior games first wouldn't make much sense.

That it isn't coming was obvious when they chose not to port the 1.5 and 2.5 Collections.

I don't think that's a relevant argument since Xbox One is now getting Kingdom Hearts games without the aforementioned ports. Something has clearly changed in the licensing, previous Kingdom Hearts games were never available digitally, until recently when Sony began offering them on PSN.

Trying to justify Japanese publishers logically is just pure absurdity though. They have no idea what is and what is not viable on particular systems, what games are worth developing, and even what's successful in the modern era. Often times it seems Square is just flailing around trying to figure out what works.

Kingdom Hearts as a whole doesnt make sense so you dont need much to put 3 on different systems.

I played all KH games multiple times and I gave up on understanding what's going on. It's a giant confusing mess. But I like those titles.

That argument doesn't make any sense when the Xbox One is getting a port tho :p

I have no doubts it will be a late port like Square Enix always love to do. That is if Disney isn't the one being weird about it.

The XB1 version was announced before the XB1 even released tho.
I'd imagine that they wanted to port the collections too and just gave up on the platform in the 3.5 years between the KH3 announcement and the current gen collections.

In either case, all i'm saying is, it would make a hell of a lot more sense to port the collections before KH3's release in 2020 cos

  • They already exist
  • They are an easy sell
  • They are literally made for people to jump into the franchise
  • They would groom a fanbase for KH3

I dont think SE cares about people getting prior games or not.

They bothered to produce a 2 hour CGI-Movie just so western people can get the story of the japan exclusive browsergame, so they clearly care in some capacity.

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
I have watched the trailer for Battle Chasers and I have noticed there is a woman wearing a bikini armor.

Then I go to the Steam forum and notice there is a thread about it. It turns out the game is inspired by a comics, and the new character design is pretty tamed compared to the original one (in the comics).

I don't know what to think anymore. 😵

it's a late 90s comic. Joe Mad still one of my favorite artists ever tho, and I remember thinking even back then "dude what are you doing".

He can also draw normal red heads tho

I've never really got into Souls.

How's SOTFS as an unconventional starting point?

It's a fine point to start.

A lot of the negativity towards it is from people who feel it didn't leave up to Dark Souls 1 since you won't have that you should have no problem.
Even with 1 in mind, 2 is still a great game, I'd just say take it slow at first.

I feel like the 2 hour cgi movie was more of an excuse to not make feel like 2.8 was basically DDD HD + KH3 demo prologue (0.2)
What I find surprising though is XB1 not getting 0.2.

does being cursed in darksouls 3 have any effect whatsoever? in darksouls 1 you'd permanently have half your health (until you purge yourself), but i can't seem to find what it does exactly in ds3... aside from insta-killing you.

We don't have them right now but I don't think anything's stopping Square from porting them later either
They still don't bring Final Fantasy day one but we keep getting them so a late port isn't that far fetched

It just kills you. No permanent effect.

Good evening. Having a rainy day here so I decided to get the latest Bundlestars bundle and this is the only game I already owned. Have fun. :)

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
I played all KH games multiple times and I gave up on understanding what's going on. It's a giant confusing mess. But I like those titles.

I've only played the original (and Re;Coded for some reason) and I already had issues following what the hell was going on, especially at the end.
Oh god, that airborn fight against Ansem. Bad memories.

I love that game, though.

I should really buy that new collection of Remasters on PS4 and finally play some other games in the series.
The Toy Story footage posted on the previous page caused a surprise hype attack.

I just discovered that Trails in the Sky has a feature that lowers the difficulty if you retry a battle. Does this affect anything in the game? Like do I miss out on achievements or anything for it being on?

I'm now on the 4th campaign of RE6 \o/
Incidentally, it appears my level of enjoyment of a campain directly correlates with how over-the-top the melee moves of my played character are. So far I've played Helena - Chris - Sherry, and Chris was really lame compared to the ladies.

Nah, you're fine. Only 3rd has difficulty related achievements and I don't think those care about retries either.

Wow the Final Fantasy 6 PC port is really bad, much worse than I thought. People focus on the stupid looking sprites, but that's barely in the top 25 problems.

Resolution locked, blur filter, weird problems in scrolling sequences, weird scrolling on the main menu, you can't set options properly in config, background animations run too fast, NPC movement on maps is too fast, the font is ugly, the text boxes are ugly and not really visually consistent, the hideous typewriter effect for centered text, the ugly character name entry screen, the awful battle UI (no matter which one you pick), permanent fast-forward icon on battle screen, permanent minimap on overworld screen (and it's not even put in a corner, it's sort of in the middle of nowhere, only 5 save files, the weird boxes in the menu UI for character formation stuff, all the tutorial text is hardcoded for the default keyboard config and not controller friendly, default controller bindings are bad, the weird polygonal world map towns are awful, the perspective in the intro isn't right, any kind of parallax scrolling has incorrect speeds on the layers, the flashback sepia filter is changed to electric pikachu piss colour, no toggle for sprint shoes, battle speed option is incorrectly described... a bunch of the battle backgrounds look great but the character's positioning on them is wrong, the equip screen is a total mess, the abilities screen has tabs that are totally undescribed, tab switching behaviour in menu UIs is inconsistent (you can switch between tabs for a character's abilities, but need to cancel out to switch between tabs for the Bestiary), any story battle with text events playing out has an undismissable empty text box sitting on the bottom of the screen, the default icons for stuff make no sense, tutorials in the adventurer's house are inconsistent with one another. When I cancelled out a menu during the Edgar+Kefka scene the music incorrectly changed...

It is seriously hard to imagine how so many basic things were gotten wrong. And some of them might make sense in the mobile port (so this is just a lazy mobile to PC port of a game Square Enix doesn't care about) but many of them don't even make sense in that context. They just went out of their way to make bad design decisions.
