Agree to disagree.
Your bolded especially is where I am not in the same boat with you. You think the game is fun to play, and after the first month I found the game absolutely dull to play.
There is just much funner games with better mechanics that are worth time investment in this day and age, and a lot more around the corner.
If you haven't tried to learn and spend time with games like Guilty Gear Xrd, Injustice 2, and my personal favorite, Tekken 7, then that may be why you think this game is still "good" or "fun" to play.
For myself Tekken 7 is like when I first got Street Fighter 4 back in '09. So much to learn that it was like a new language to master and I knew nothing. I appreciate all of what it has to offer to learn, I love how the combo system works, I love it visually, I love its soundtrack, and I not only love to watch it but also play it.
This was the first EVO where I watched about no pool play from SF5, and I didn't even finish up to grand finals for SF5 when I could have. I had 0 interest in watching SF in general this year, but I saw all the Tokido hype and there was a Gief in top 8. I think Tokido is a fantastic person and player so I viewed for a little there, and I think Gief is the only character that I enjoy watching in SF5 at all.
Tekken on the other hand this year I rarely ever watched, and I sat through all of pool play and finals on the edge of my seat. I was learning as I watched, the commentary was hype, the skill level on display was through the roof, and we got to see JDCR cry and shake from winning to prove he is not a robot.

R - SF5 isn't fun for me to play and is rarely fun to watch. It is a couple iterations away from me caring, and OP I encourage you to try other fighters out there right now to maybe come to the same conclusion that in this day and age SF5 is slacking where other fighters are delivering that didn't before.
