I've actually never played Destiny, although I own the Taken King (came with the console) but downloading 40GB (?) to try it out seems like... something. I just want to see how the shooting feels, I use a gamepad and play solo anyways.
There's no indication that it'll be rolled out differently to the console beta. Still no firm start date, though, just the vague window of next month.
Only consoles this weekend. PC beta is sometime next month.
Why can't you? If they fix heavy ammo drops, I just think you're not going to be able to waste your shots on low tier enemies.

To me the D2 beta vs D1 feels like a Halo 1 > Halo 2 level of epic fail. Hopefully they fix the PvE problems for release like they said in the TWAB but we have experienced them saying things and not actually doing them before (that 0.04%). If we have to wait for D3 to "finish the fight" then IDK man bail out now.

I want to somewhat agree with you, but Everytime I think about D2 I just want to play more. The game is just fun. There are a ton of issues. They have been said time and time again, but man at the end of the day this game is a blast. I'll be playing it day one.
That's the huge Crux of the issue. They know the majority will still play while the vocal minority will bitch and moan about PvE and PvP balancing. Do they want to put the resources and time to balance separately when it probably won't make much of a difference in sales?
As bad as that is to say out loud, I have a feeling that is how it will go. Destiny 2 will still be the biggest hit this year.
So SMGs seem like a worse version of autos with more recoil and less range.
Hand cannons are very inconsistent. I just took a clip of me literally shooting a guy in the head 4 times while he was AFK and 3 of them counted as wiffs, the shots weren't even spammed as fast as possible either. Coming from the HC being my main weapon from D1 something is definitely wrong.
Really glad auto rifles are actually good now though, hopefully they don't nerf them for 3 years this time.

This is literally the worst thing I could have read. Halo 1 > 2 was one of my biggest ever disappointments (bar H2's multiplayer that was good fun).
Well, maybe it will lower my expectations so much I enjoy the Beta more than normal.
lol no. I'm loving the beta. It could use some adjustments, but they've already said it's an old build and they've made changes for release.
