Then, think about how much they would be doing if it was a Democrat president. The impeachment proceedings would already be underway.

Are you ideas new and spark fresh and forward thinking debate or are they old and regressive... and have been argues to death already?

There comes a point where debate is no longer needed and we make a decision and move forward

For example... we dont need to go back and ask ourselves if women should be allowed to work

Challenging that idea now would be considered going backwards and only serve as distraction to current issues on top of being obviiusly offensive and wrong in the context of societal norms

One thing I'm curious about that I haven't seen brought up is if they are serious about kicking out any active transgender folks, wouldn't that in of itself be a waste of money? They have already been allowed to serve and recieve training and such to perform their jobs(just like everybody else in the military), so they are fine with essentially throwing that money away as long as it means getting transgenders out? So much for being all that concerned about saving money, especially since it's been shown medical bills for trans people is rather negligible in the bigger picture.

I mean I've seen Chiefs grumble about wasting money on certain sailors to send them to C schools, only to get kicked out a year or so later for PT failures.

I can't believe he's trying to pin this on healthcare costs for trans people in the middle of a huge debate about the affordability and access of healthcare and the government's role in both of those aspects. Especially when his party's ideas on the subject are horribly unpopular.

My point was that this taking sides garbage, red vs blue, us vs them, the "enlightened" democract against the wicked "inbred" republican garbage is WHY we are dealing with this moron.

Well, many wealthy elite won't care about common people either way, but if Republicans disappeared and it was just the current Democratic lawmakers, we would get a lot more done for common people. Not even a question. You've already seen Dems and Repubs vote along party lines on things that affect common people (recently: healthcare, repeal broadband privacy regulations). Plus we know on any laws related to SNAP or anything helping the poor, the votes are along party lines. Dems vote not to fuck people, Repubs vote to fuck people.

Absolutely no debate that we'd be doing more for common people if all right-wingers disappeared from Congress. If I could snap my fingers right now and do it, I would. The right-wing, their policies and constituents are the primary cause of almost everything that makes this country shitty.

I think the real reason is more sinister. By having transgender men and women serve and protect in our military it makes anti-transgender legislative agenda much more difficult for the GOP. So removing them would make it so that the transgender community and human rights activists have less ground to stand on when fighting said agenda.

This has nothing to do with cost.

I have taken some time to thoughtfully type this up instead of outright dismissing you, so I'd appreciate it if you paused and read it for a moment.

One thing you may be missing is that HUMANS do the "us vs them" thing. It doesn't happen because of political parties. Why do you think political parties are created in the first place? Even if you change a system, you're still going to have evil people. You're still going to have people who hate blacks, who hate gay people, who hate trans people, who hate Jews, who hate Mexicans, who hate anyone remotely different than them. You're still going to have psychopaths who want to kill people and are only held back because it's inconvenient, or law enforcement still sort of works.

Democrats and the Democratic party definitely have problems. Obama had problems. The problem is that it is totally, 100% misleading to suggest any sort of "both sides" argument given the current state of the presidency and Republican actions in the House/Senate. I challenge you to find a U.S. president who was worse at the job by any measure. For example, there's hurting the country both domestically and internationally, fostering hate, being totally unqualified for the job, obstructing justice, constantly lying, unable to talk coherently, and behaving in an outright bizarre and irrational fashion. If you pick one or two categories you might find some examples of bad presidents in history, but all categories? You will be exceedingly hard-pressed, and I believe it's impossible.

The things that have happened in the Trump presidency are simply without precedent, and the Republican support through the last 6 months means they lost any chance they had to redeem themselves. You can't simply go "but fuck Democrats too" at this point as if it's remotely comparable or the Democratic party's faults are relevant. I don't know what forms of fiction you're familiar with, but it's like comparing a random stormtrooper with Emperor Palpatine or something. Any attempt at comparison or distracting from the sheer overbearing evil of one side is ludicrous.
