Im definitely getting Destinys Bounty and the Green Mech Dragon, both look fantastic. Not getting the mechs though cause the lack of knee joints kills any interest for me. Every pose looks stiff and unnatural. They really should come up with a new part if they cant currently do knee joints.

I want ninjago city but $300 is a bit much... maybe one day when its on clearance

I have hope I can get some kind of knee joint working. My dreams of a Jaeger to fight Meowthra will be realized.

So I was lucky enough to find the Lego Creator Bike Shop & Cafe, the last one in the area to! Surprise number 2 was that they marked it down in price so it only cost me 68 dollars. I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I'll have it waiting for me when I get home. The only thing left to pick up from the creator line that fits into my little city is the Park Street Townhouse and then I'll get to the modulars. It's gonna be a fun autumn.

Stopped at Walmart to see if the clearance sets had been marked down further, and they weren't...

...but other sets were added to the clearance, at considerable discount.

41172 - Elves The Water Dragon Adventure - $7.00

41232 - DC Super Hero Girls Super Hero High School - $30.00
41233 - DC Super Hero Girls Lashina Tank - $5.00

70593 - Ninjago The Green NRG Dragon - $15.00

75139 - Star Wars Battle on Takodana - $19.00

Spotted some other sets, some more Elves and Friends sets, but those above were the ones I picked up.

With July ending really soon wonder how long Lego is gonna take to fully reveal the star wars last Jedi sets they have to do it soon force Friday is the beginning of September lol.

Force Friday is the reveal and sale date for all the new SW product lines. We might get names of sets/items being released since SW sites will probably have Force Friday checklists. But don't expect official pics or anything unless they get leaked

Adding on to the Walmart clearance prices. Picked these up this morning:

76081 Milano vs Abilisk for $30
70908 The Scuttler for $49

What was weird about the Scuttler was it wasn't marked as Clearance. It was just the MSRP.

Here is the actual review video from those guys I mentioned earlier doing the Ninjago City build. Don't click if you fear for your wallet.

12 minutes into review. Dat ATM!

EDIT: I am both happy and mad that I watched that video review. Happy because it reconfirms my hype for Ninjago City. Upset because it showed off some functions and builds I maybe didn't want to know about until going through it.

But wow, that set is massive next to Town Hall.

Yea I'm sorry all. I regretted watching it too, I'm going to be $300 poorer next month and I'm powerless to stop it now.

I knew my money was gone anyways. This just made the wait for double VIP even harder.

But I am still grabbing Destiny's Bounty on the 1st since I can get a discount at work. Maybe the dragon as well.

Ive been refraining from saying anything, but im always suprised you guys will watch someone build a set you are going to buy. But people also watch every piece of content they can find on a game before release so what do i know

Ninjago city might be the first expensive set i get. We will see. Im still extremely wary of spending that much money on lego at once and i see most of my lego going into a box to build with and only being displayed for very short amounts of time each.

I'm not gonna lie, tearing down sets is the absolute hardest part of Lego collecting for me. I specifically buy sets that I want to display. Running out of room and having to take them down and store them away somewhere just kills me. To me thats not why I bought the sets. I guess thats why I tried to start reigning in my purchases and stopped getting Star Wars sets. I especially hate having to take down my castle sets like the Vampire Castle and Helms Deep. I guess i'm hoping to someday be in a larger place or have that fabled "Lego Room" all to myself to display everything I want.

As far as Ninjago its really weird. I guess I have to agree with Phon that the theme itself doesn't grab me but the specific builds they keep coming up with. The Japanese and Asian architecture is great and the dragon builds are consistently top notch. Add in the occasional bad ass mechs and its like STOP IT ALREADY! Stop hitting all my buttons Lego. Now they are hitting another one for me again out of nowhere with the sea creature villain theme and a freaking mech shark.

So, slowly building Assembly Square, and it has surpassed Parisian Cafe and Detective's Office to become my new favorite modular. This is pretty much due to the fact that every room has something awesome...the bakery, flower shop, and cafe are all cool, but the dentist's office, music store, ballet studio, and the porn set have all been great little surprises to build.

The only major issue I have is with this:
BX4BaKm.png

the instructions say to put the mother and the baby in this area. Are you kidding me? This is a tiny 3rd floor studio walk-up, located above a dentist's office. Aside from a futon, the only real furniture is a massive model train which takes up almost a third of the space. The other surfaces in the place are taken up by a LEGO Eiffel Tower (10181, $600 used), the LEGO VW camper and Mini Cooper, a built Cafe Corner, Market Street, and Green Grocer, and a NIB Cafe Corner (10182, $2000+).

Sorry, but no single mother lives in this studio with her baby...

Perhaps she and the dentist live there together.

With just a futon? Hell no. If anyone in the set lives here, it's the guy who runs the music store...but, really, I'm assuming the single male resident of the studio is away at BrickCon.

Then she's simply house-sitting for her single brother. Making sure the cat is fed and the windows are opened to let in some fresh air.

I will agree to this, IF she is also harboring a general disapproval for how her brother spends his money, and brings it up in a passive aggressive manner every time she notices a new set.

I think it's more that she used to be a big fan too, but since the baby she's fallen into her dark ages. Being back surrounded by Lego is reminding her that as a new mother, she must also find some personal time to make sure she remains a well rounded person in her own right.

You all are being too optimistic. You forget Lego City is a cesspool of crime, villainy and smuggling. She is a drug mule for the dentist using a baby as cover.

Well, we all know who started that trend... I blame this guy (please stop giving him pizza):

Out of curiosity, how much of a discount do you get? I assumed you worked at the Lego Store but I guess I didn't actually read that anywhere.

Better pics of the upcoming Star Wars sets (except the big one!)

Now I'm worried the Kylo TIE will be very close build-wise to the older ones. I feel like I've already built that.

I realize the same criticism could go towards the two bigger sets as well, but I don't own the older versions of those so they're new to me :)

Most of those aren't really doing it for me. I feel like in a few years when they do second revisions they will be greatly improved. The walker looks like an AT-AT with a Cylon head attached to it. And the Star Destroyer looks so odd without the taller bridge section and shield generators.

But those extra pics of BB-8 might have sold me. Showing the interactive functions of it has raised my interest. I can see that being an extremely popular set with kids this holiday season.

...Is Snoke watching a hologram of Palpatine?

I thought the same, but maybe he is talking to Kylo Ren.

I'm 100% in for BB-8, but I think I'll go with the Star Destroyer over Kylo's Tie Fighter like a lot of people here.

I've always wanted a good Star Destroyer set, but I missed the good regular one, and the SSD was too large and expensive for me, so this one looks to be about perfect for me.

With the myriad of bow pieces out I'm kind of surprised they went with the full greebled BB8, but I get it, compound curves are hard. It still seems a bit stylistically odd to slap the snot'd head piece atop all those plates.
