Since we've solved the "SaikyoBro" mystery, let's talk about the things we want from the confirmed modes.

Eh, sure, why not? From a semi-casual point of view, this is what I'd like to see from each.

-What exactly do you want from Story Mode?
Cheese. Glorious campy cheese. Oh and for every playable character to get a turn so I can get at least a quick feel for them by playing through the story. This includes playing the villains, too. It would be nice to have a branching path where you can choose the order of doing stuff, then come back together for a finale, but doing it like SFV, only with more cheese is fine.

-What exactly do you want from Arcade Mode?
10 fights of increasing difficulty. Fight 9 is Ultron and Sigma, fight 10 is Ultron-Sigma. Simple enough, really. Should have many difficulty levels, but the point of it is to try out characters and teams against a vide and unexpected variety of CPU controlled foes. See how it handles before committing to Training Mode.

-What exactly do you want from Vs Mode?
I rarely use it, so I'll just cop out and say whatever the competitive community thinks are great quality of life additions. They know what those are better than me. Vs. CPU would be great to have, of course.

-What exactly do you want from Training Mode?
Just a completely off the wall suggestion, but you know what would be awesome? To be able to import from a replay. You get into a situation in a fight that you don't get or don't know how to defend against, you import that into training mode directly and try it out.

Oh and a slow-mo option, right down to frame by frame movement, maybe SUPERHOT style. The game doesn't move unless you input something. To quickly test if what you're doing is even possible or not. Then you can worry about timing later.

-What exactly do you want from Mission Mode?
The most important thing would be doing things that you normally wouldn't. Basic combos, sure, show off those, but also show off weird properties of each character, show off the edge case scenarios and such.

-What exactly do you want from Collection Mode?
A model viewer would be nice, with the ability to pose them in any of their moves. Useless trivia, Smash trophy style, too. And of course alternate outfits and music and all that. A music player would be nice, too.

-What type of ranking would you prefer in Ranked Matches?
Early placement matches! If you're good enough for a higher rank, you start in it after 7-10 fights. Maybe not top ranks, but let good players jump ahead early... to get rid of them in the lower ranks. Nothing is more discouraging to a casual player than their first 10 fights being completely unwinnable to the point where they'd do better by putting the controller down rather than trying to fight.

Some sort of seasonal ladder might be nice, too. Maybe have a player level (which should NOT be grossly inflated by doing ridiculously easy singleplayer content, looking at you SFV!) and the rank as two different things. It's just pretty bar filling, but that's nice. Even if you're on a losing streak, you're still inching closer to next level up. Which... really doesn't do anything, but increase a number. Bigger numbers are better than smaller numbers!

Again, this is from a semi-casual point of view. They had me with X being playable already. X in a silly cheesy story with Marvel characters is just a bonus.

the second SaikyoBro is obviously the .zip leaker using another leaker's name to hide himself. It all makes sense.

Fake leaks aside, I still believe Venom and Monster Hunter will make the base roster.

To be fair, that's almost all we discuss in the SFV OT too and we made it to like 9 OTs in 1.5 years.

Didn't we get SFV news or footage every few months though? Didn't follow SFV very closely.

Something more akin to MKX than SFV, also i hope the part in the demo is the begining of the second Act, let's have some bits with the characters in their worlds before and during the merge and slowly coming together before they attempt to break out Thanos.

-What exactly do you want from Arcade Mode?

Same as MVC3: A bunch of fights and classic styled endings with 2 illustrations and what happened written or narrated.

-What exactly do you want from Vs Mode?

I don't know, just the usual stuff.

-What exactly do you want from Training Mode?

Standard fare.

-What exactly do you want from Mission Mode?

Same as MVC3

-What exactly do you want from Collection Mode?

Bios, Model Viewer, Sound Test, Endings Gallery, Cinematic viewer (including an option to see all Story mode cinematics back to back like a movie) and Concept art viewer.

-What type of ranking would you prefer in Ranked Matches?

No preference.

If you mean pre-release then yes. There was no shortage of footage or character reveals or hype.

I was talking about post-release though
(It was a crack at the shitty communication by Capcpom)

I just want 2p rematch tbh.
Too late, I already emailed Ono and he said it's gonna be a pre-order exclusive.

...I'm over here still wanting a 4 player tag mode. lol

EDIT: Now that we know all we know about this game. Imagine how insane this mode would be!

-Setpieces and comedy like the MCU, since it's obvious that nobody's expecting a legitimately good story. Based on what we've seen in teasers from SDCC, it looks like that might actually be the case.
-PvC, CvP, PvP, and CvC. And P2 rematch ofc.
-Same as SFV's combined with MvC3's.
-Same as MvC3's, though with the practicality of SFV's.
-Artworks, voice lines, model viewers, and hopefully an unlockable costume (or at least a few colors) for every character.
-PP and BP, but if possible, give teams a combined BP based on the teammates, weighing it towards the higher score. For example, if my Ryu has 13000BP, and my Morrigan has 4000BP, my team has a combined 10000BP (average Ryu's twice and Morri's once).

I wonder what they could add, besides the obvious really. Maybe transfer HVH cards from UMVC3 but now with Offline Versus? Some gimmick mode where you play as the grunts/NPCs? Survival? some weird clone of the Challenge Towers from MK/Injustice? Advanced Guard projectile Volleyball like from Budokai2 and Tekken(I think?), Ultron-Sigma vs the world? Color Edit? 2 player tag? VsCPU?

Honestly All of this could be answered at one time by saying this: To be good.

I hope the story mode can be engaging and have a few nice crossover moments (like the Ryu/Hulk one that was shown off previously. That was completely silly, but more of that please).

Arcade Mode (can't believe I have to think of the chance it wouldn't be in), to have the standard progression before the obvious boss fighter against Ultron Sigma

And the rest to properly emulate and improve on what has been done in previous Marvel games. As long as the gameplay feels solid, the game itself should hold up well (at least one can hope)

Are there details of these modes anywhere? I've only ever seen some of them name dropped in a couple press releases with zero details.

lmao ya'll listing fantasy modes.

you're gonna get 3 half-assed game modes and you're gonna like it.

We're really excited for Survival mode at this time.™

Only mode I really want back is a Heroes and Heralds equivalent with even more cards of unplayable characters.
Not like Mission Mode actually taught me anything lol. Galactus mode was cool for one match.

Has any Capcom fighter in the past ever had a tutorial? Not missions and trials but one that teaches you the basics and different fighting mechanics.

lol Tekken 7 story mode. "Here's an assist button to press buttons against opponents with bullshit story only moves."

Except Tekken 7 didn't teach jack shit in the story mode.

That's the joke.

SF x T taught you basic mechanics and eventually in SFV they added some tutorials outside of the garbage one when you boot up the game but they were not interactive.

The most I can remember is SFV's tutorial mode.

It teaches you basic blocking, how to do basic special moves (hadokens), button strengths, throws, how to use your v-skill, how to use V-Trigger and supers.

All the other stuff is taught by demonstrations which aren't interactive but it's SOMETHING.
That's the joke.

I would expect the normal from the modes we are going to get. If yall are going to have high expectation for the modes then you are insane.

- dont give a fuck about single player in fighting games

- dont give a fuck about single player in fighting games

-marvel 3 was fine

-marvel 3 was fine. if they were cool they'd give us the stuff from the vita version but I doubt' it.

-i don't even know what collection mode is

So now you see how low my expectations are, and the fact that I'm still disappointed speaks volumes I think. I literally give no fucks about single player stuff.
