I am trying hard to think of stuff that is worth watching on FX, let a lone pay for.

The League is over

Always Sunny is only 6 weeks out of the year

Atlanta is on hiatus

Archer is wrapping up
The Americans for sure...although that ends next season.
So do I. Still not sure what caused the split and only thought of it when looking at the list you posted. I think Always Sunny is on FXX as well but I'm sure FXX stuff would be on their app as well.

Come to think of it, I think Atlanta is the only reason my TV ends up on FX
FXX is more comedic and FX is more drama I belive

Dexter is in the next season of The Crown!?!?

Awesome!

Landgraf updates us on a couple FX series:
On the future of Louie
“I really don’t have any update on Season 6,” the exec admitted to reporters. “I think it’s possible there’ll never be another season of Louie. And I think it’s also possible there’ll be four or five more seasons of Louie over the next 30 years.”

Landgraf acknowledged that Louis CK has “changed a lot since he made the last season of Louie,” adding, “I think he had run out of things to say about that time in his life. … He’d become so much more successful than the Louie he portrayed on the show, that I think to him, it was starting to feel a little false. So he had to make a decision: Do I want to take the Louie on my show through the pathway of success that I’ve gone through? Or do I want to stop making it for a while? I think he decided to stop making it and move on. I think if it ever comes back, it’ll be a really different show. Because I think Louie’s already a very different guy than he was the last time he made one.”
On Fargo Season 4:
We haven’t heard the idea from [series creator] Noah [Hawley] for what the fourth season would be,” Landgraf shared. “And I think what we’ve encouraged Noah to do is think about it and make sure he has something that he’s really, really excited about and believes in. There’s at least some possibility he won’t have that idea for some period of time, but I think there’s also a possibility, because Noah’s been insanely fertile and productive, that we’ll hear that idea fairly soon.”
Basically they have no idea, and it's up to Hawley.
On that Sons of Anarchy spin-off:
The pilot for the Sons of Anarchy spinoff — which is currently being reshot — is looking good, with Landgraf “confident” a series order will come sometime this fall.
On American Crime Story Season 3 that was once Season 2 till literally everyone realized it wasn't gonna going to happen:
The long-delayed iteration of Ryan Murphy’s Emmy-winning franchise is undergoing “a creative pivot” which is what prompted FX to air the Versace edition next and hold Katrina for Season 3. “It was a difficult decision, because we were far along in one creative direction… [but] the bar is really high for this franchise, and we just weren’t confident we were going to get over it. And simultaneously, there was an idea for a creative pivot, which I’m going to let Ryan announce to you when he feels the time’s right to do it. I think you’ll see when he does that it’s a really, really exciting idea, and I’m now more confident about it creatively than I was before we made this pivot.”

Anne with an "E" looks to have been renewed for a second season:

http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/03/anne-with-an-e-season-2/

Yay, I never read the books but I like the show.

Awesome! Loved the show, I was just wondering if it was going to get picked up the other day. I think the first season was the first 18 chapters, or so, of the book, and the next season should be the next 18. There's a few books in the series so if they continue at that pace there could potentially be several seasons.

Legion.

Pamela Adlon's show Better Things.

American Crime Story

But other than that, their slate is relatively bare.
Mayans MC: This seems the closest to being greenlit for a season.

Y: The Last Man: Nothing since November last year, but this has been notoriously hard to get off the ground.

Honey: Nothing more than a concept, really. No casting work either.

Pose: Second-closest to an actual show, since casting has begun for an October start.

The Mastermind: Nothing more than a concept and producers.

Space: Same here.

Ride or Die: This seems the closest to reality on the comedy side of things: Cristin Miloti and Nina Pedrad are attached to write and star, but nothing much on that front since then. It does appear a pilot was shot, though.

Singularity: This also appears to have a pilot shot. This is the Seth Rogen-Evan Goldberg AI comedy with Damon Wayans Jr as "Wayans Jr. will play Doug, a guy who loves to be in the moment and is often dressed in YEEZY streetwear."

Untitled Robert Kelly Project: Concept and producers, but its not even on IMDB yet.

Cat's Cradle: I don't know if Noah Hawley's going to tackle this after Legion, but between this, Fargo, and that Dr. Doom movie, I don't know.

No Place Safe: This also appears to be in initial development. But, with John Ridley and Regina King, FX probably wants this sooner rather than later.

That, plus the Hue miniseries and the Montreal Mafia series (which is done and should air in the fall) is what FX has up to bat.

pretty sure Archer has two seasons left. Always Sunny is delayed until next year.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise

American Horror Story
The Americans (for one more year)
Baskets
Feud
Taboo
Trust (the Danny Boyle anthology miniseries about the Getty family)

FX's biggest problem is that a lot of their drama lineup is on very irregular schedules now with all the miniseries/anthology setups.

I do wonder what will replace Game of Thrones as the "biggest" show. Maybe Westworld? Although I bet it will run out steam.

I'm a pretty big FX fan but I couldn't care less about any of these shows. Louie/Fargo are tired and should be dead, lol at the SOA spinoff, and in a world where Treme exists there is no need for ACS: Katrina.

The last seasons of Louie and Fargo were both fantastic.

But if your logic is that they should go out on top, I agree.

I really like Westworld, but I'm very sceptical about it becoming the next big thing. It certainly doesn't feel like that to me.
I'm going based off the number of thread pages, and the Emmy noms, as well as tv ads. It seems to have a lot of hype.
On HBO? Obviously Westworld. In terms of hype, nothing else they have comes close.

The last season was awful.
Just in general, there was Walking Dead/Breaking Bad before Game of Thrones, but I don't see any shows that could possibly replace Game of Thrones in the zeitgeist.
Im surprised it took many people for Disney to remove films from netflix to finally complain about too many streaming sites, when its been kind of happening for years now.
It caught many people off-guard especially since Disney's deal just started last September I belive. In all honesty if Disney's streaming as most of their movies, I will pay for it.

2017: The year the LA comedy scene bubble burst

And I don't know if Netflix is helping by letting everyone and their mother get a special. Letting people do a full hour of undeveloped material sorta poisons the well.

And on the East Coast, SNL isn't even a good launchpad for creating superstars anymore. People love Kate McKinnon, but didn't show up to support her in Ghostbusters or Rough Night. Popstar made less opening weekend than Hot Rod did a decade earlier. It's even rough out there for the alums. Whew

I ain't even mad at Disney. They're producing a lot of quality content every year. Why not cut out the middle man? What I want to know is if people are okay with paying for Netflix just for their originals? Cause that's the future.

I've watched more Netflix Orginals than any Cable show this year. They have something of quality almost every month, hell May was insane with how many shows came out.

They just need to work on their movies, their best one is still Beasts of No Nation.

I'm fully expecting a True Detective type arch on the audience response to that one. Though obviously they don't have to do the "itssamaaaaaze!!" thing now anymore, so maybe the second season will fare better.

But then I am not even remotely interested in watching it either. Might binge it if good.

Same. I've basically already been doing exactly that, as much as I hate to admit it. They got me with GLOW, Ozark, and new seasons of their originals.

From the sounds of it, Netflix knows how to throw money at talent for movies but doesn't seem interested in producing a movie. I'm all for artistic vision, but I don't think every director is disciplined enough to just be let loose and still turn out something that's digestible for a large audience. We'll see how Bright turns out...

I like the idea of the Amazon Channels thing, that's what Netflix should offer, too. Then just have Disney content as a separate channel for $10 or whatever, much better than having a gazillion separate streaming providers which usually have terrible apps and platform support.

Yeah, same. They had an awesome run but have really started to fade.

From an HBO perspective or in general? Right now there are really only two "event shows" on TV: GoT and TWD. You pretty much need to watch them live or simply not go on social media until you've seen them. No other show comes close to the level of live interaction right now (except sports obviously).

I don't see Westworld getting to that level.

The Deuce may pick up a lot of viewers, especially with the cast it has - James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, created by David Simon (The Wire). premieres Sept 10th 2017, and synopsis is good although Vinyl was a huge dud and sounds a bit similar:
A look at life in New York City during the 1970s and '80s when porn and prostitution were rampant in Manhattan.

Then of course there are the spinoffs from GoT, and the infamous Confederacy from D&D.

There was supposed to be a new JJ Abrams sci fi show on HBO, "Glare", that was about mankind's first colonization of another planet in another star system. Not sure where that is anymore. Watchmen is also under development.

Has everyone forgotten about the best FX show, You're The Worst?
I'll never get the love for You're the Worst. The best I can say about it is that it's watchable. A 6.5/10 at best.

It's a show made by David Simon, we can be sure that like five people total will watch it. Maybe we can all pretend we're twins and double its audience.

that's almost what I already do, because my region's selection is so limited.

Dexter is in the next season of The Crown!?!?

Awesome!

is The Crown any good? I see the second season is starting soon (well in december), the time period is interesting.

I've never really heard much buzz about it tho.

Looking at my podcast feed, I see more people talking about The Bachelor than Game of Thrones and I have no idea what TV is anymore. lol

As I wrote in the Netflix community thread; the reason why you hear so little about that show on GAF is that the target audience for that show don't post much on GAF.
