They're also a lock to lose a minimum of 10 games.

Edit: Darby will bounce back. He's a great force/run defender. Last year he was in a man heavy scheme and was roasted because he didnt have much help. In a zone heavy two deep scheme like the Eagles use he'll bounce back. Plus he's cost controlled.

And zeke showed his ex was trying to set him up hell Elliott cooperated with the investigation and charges were thrown out because of "conflicting and inconsistent" info. Its a bullshit suspension. Big Ben didn't even get six games for his sexual allegations and his case was thrown out too.

After seeing Mack Hollins play so naturally last night I think he should be the slot guy, frankly. He's a big dude too. I liked Jordan Matthews and thought he was a little above average, but he was on the last year of his contract and did play a super major role in the offense. I think it's a good trade on both sides frankly.

Excited to have a real CB and it should make the defense way better.

He ranks first in receptions (225) and third in receiving yards (2,673) among all-time Eagles in their first three years, and is one of only five players in NFL history with 65-plus receptions and 800-plus receiving yards in each of their first three seasons. The other four? Randy Moss, Odell Beckham Jr., Mike Evans and A.J. Green.

I can see why howie didnt want to resign him.

Great? The secondary is still a huge question mark. Darby is one starter but who starts opposite him? Rookie 3rd round pick Douglas? 7th round pick Mills from 2 seasons ago? Garbage VET CB Robinson?

Hopefully one of those guys steps up. Would love to see Mills and Douglas actually become real players but against one is a 7th round pick and the other is a rookie who isn't known for his speed.

They also have very thin depth at LB. Their D can be decent because they have a great Dline and two really good safeties but considering they will face Dez, OBJ and Marshall, and Pryor 2x each - they are in for a long season.

I do wonder if Kendricks next. He was the other Eagle long rumored to be traded and even asked for it. His situation is different though considering they are thin at LB and wouldn't be getting a better LB in return.

I wonder Carson Wentz feels. Apparently, he is super close with J. Mathews. Both went to the same Church and worshipped together.

Alshon better be in chuch with Wentz on Sunday.

Hundley is better than some starting QBs in this league IMO. You're generally right though.

Ronald Darby gave up 7 passes of 30 yards or more last year, and QBs had a rating of 101.5 when targeting him last year. He was really good as a rookie though so who knows, but Matthews was definitely the more reliable player. I am really surprised that the Eagles had to include a 3rd to get this deal done.

No one is going to take a one year rental on Matthews for their starting CB

I still remember him from college. I don't get how he fell that hard. His Oline during his last year at UCLA was offensive (he was put on his ass 10 times against Utah, I remember that in particular).

I think it will be lowered to 3 or 4 games tho

The bills trades make sense for them. Yeah getting rid of Watkins sounds dumb on the surface, but they didn't sign his rookie option, this is his last year on his rookie contract, and they're very clearly going nowhere this year + have a rookie head coach. Watkins was either gone in FA or he was going to be a massive investment coming off 1 year of good play. Too much of a risk for a team going nowhere, especially since they just drafted a WR in the second round this year.

They're stacked with picks, so they have some draft capital plus they're realistically a 5 win team this year now. They've been "mediocre" for way too long with no playoff potential. Best to just start a fresh rebuild.

I like the Watkins move for the rams too. Gotta build around the #1 pick no matter what. If Goff manages to breakout that could be a fringe playoff team, all depends on how he plays.

If Darby manages to bounce back it'll be a good pickup for the eagles. Worse trades have been made tbh.

I say he gets maybe 3-4 on the appeal, dude has made some bonehead desecions, but the NFL found some things the law couldn't? Ok... If Sammy can ever stay healthy this could be good for the Rams 👍

Bills can win 5 games on their Oline and Shady alone. That said, the 6 games they will win will give them a good range to trade for whatever QB they want next year. They're thinking a year ahead and can't blame them.
