Capcom's handling of the marketing for this game has been sub par at best, even you must admit it. The fact that people were allowed to record this footage through direct capture is not special. Most trade shows have that, and Capcom only actually allowed that after a showing where they weren't. If Capcom had handled the marketing better, it wouldn't only be that fan captured footage that would be hyping people up. That'd just be a cherry on top.

So yeah, it's Max and Tyrant that record the footage with Capcom's help, but when helping is the only thing that Capcom's doing to promote their game, that's kinda off.

It would be obvious that Ms. Marvel would take the top billing for a variety of reasons. Hell, I'm still mildly shocked she wasn't included in the initial roster since she would probably go crazy about being able to fight next to Captain Marvel (or going up against her). Not to mention that if we were to remove Super Skrull out of the roster, she definitely would be a good replacement while adding in her own special abilities to make her stand out. Definitely would have been a nice addition.

As for the rest... You got me on that one. I'm more casual myself with Marvel, so I don't entirely know the full lineup.

Agreed. This game has been nothing short of a PR's nightmare with how it has been handled for character reveals, trailers, and just the overall handling of questions regarding the X-Men and the responses that were given. If it weren't for the showcase of gameplay, I think we would be talking about more about the game's launch and how it was probably going to be poor. It could still be that way mind you, but at least the gameplay has been promising enough to get people interested. Still is rather screwy to think that it has been others instead of those within Capcom that have done a better job in hyping up the game (even with the lackluster roster that everyone can agree is hurting this game a good sum).

I'm caught between Black Bolt & Medusa, but maybe Medusa would be better for more moveset variety. I'd also swap Kid Kaiju for either Quake or Moon Girl (w/ Devil Dinosaur), but keep Ms. Marvel. As much of a good idea as Kid Kaiju would be, he'd probably be considered digging too deep. Plus Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur are popular with younger readers (just ask my little cousin).

I want a playable Lockjaw. He'd have a battering ram headbutt, a leaping tackle where he licks your face, a big bite command throw, a run where he loses traction and slips, and a teleport, obviously.

I could see Lockjaw being lumped with Ms. Marvel or whoever represents the Royal Family (Black Bolt or Medusa) like how Groot assists Rocket.

I actually don't know that much about Moon Girl. I assume she would add more versatility than Moon Boy, but I just don't know what tech she has. Devil Dinosaur is cool and all, being a T-Rex, but he's just a red T-Rex. If we had a T-Rex style fighter I'd rather go with Hauzer or ideally, Deviljho.

If they added moon girl/devil dinosaur and not Regina, capcom would be entirely off their rocker and I'd accept that as the series being more dead than it ever has been over there these last 5 years

Well, I had Moon Girl on my list but Kid Kaiju just edged her out but I'm totally open to see Moon Girl getting in. In general, I have a feeling that Medusa and Ms. Marvel have better shots to getting in if we are getting more downloadable contents.

Don't want to beat a dead horse about the lifeless facial expressions and art style, but damn, it really took me out of story demo. It sucks because the animators are killing it, but the character artists and lighting department are shitting the bed.

True. That being said, it certainly seems like the bare minimum any company on a show floor could do to promote a game they have to know has been embattled with enthusiasts. Sporadic drops with huge periods of silence might be the Capcom MO now for one reason or another, but it doesn't build goodwill. It's self-inflicted wounds.

They've got a good product and they know how to market it, so it's confusing that things aren't more cohesive. Could be due to a number of a reasons we're not privy to, but disappointing all the same.

It's also no accident that the leaked ESports proposal got people excited, because it was one of the few things that felt like there was a behind the scenes strategy that actually resonated for this game. It was just a proposal but the fact that they're looking to support it is the kind of goodwill this game needs.

This is pretty close to if not a flagship title and is looking like it is as fun as one. They should do a quality job on the rest to complete the package.

But eh, I'm buying the game anyway and I don't have Capcom or Marvel stock. Plus Spider-Man looks like fun. This impacts their bottom line more than anything else.

those Morrigan combos in the air where she looks like shes using the same button over and over again remind me of the Magneto combos, is that like a timing on the button presses thing, how does that work? The same punch or whatever usually doesnt combo into itself like that.

While we're on the topic of females, if I had to go with any character i wanted (other than Juri or Cammy), it would probably be Nina or Akira. If the former, then I want her far-eastern inspired design from one of the newer games (BoF6? I know nothing about those games Edit: It's Onimusha Soul lol) since it's the most visually interesting (and is admittedly kinda cute).

I only really care about the first 5 (really 4) but Lockjaw is Lockjaw and I can't hate on Lockjaw. Except what MAA did with Lockjaw....eesh. And Medusa is on there because Hair combos could be cool, I guess?

I've never really cared about the Inhumans at all though.

Man, I just want Scarlet Witch and Ruby Heart. They could do a lot of cool things with Wanda (Modok-type control jamming or something), and Ruby deserves to come back simply because she looks awesome.
