Don't quote me... But I think it was $259.99? Or $239.99

As for Amazon.... Wtf

Edit

$259.99

Thanks.

Wow! That is high. I remember pre-ordering the PS3 collectors edition and it was $120. Popularity tax I guess lol. I made a notification for when it comes in stock again. Will make the decision then. :)

Chatted with Amazon support asking for them to cancel and refund the remaining time on my prime membership and they refunded me the entire year I already used apparently.

I loved Amazon but I don't see how they can just change this stuff without notifying anyone.

So amazon prime is 10% off now...

Even Nintendo games drop with 10% fast. Heck, the E3 deals were 20% off so this paid membership is worse. I'll just go back to buying physical PSN/XBL/eShop cards to get free shipping when required for reaching the threshold. Sucks that I renewed in May.

Looks like it's time to cancel Prime. Barely made use of the free shipping and it's not that hard to wait an extra day for shipping and bundle up $25 worth of items.

Also, why is Prime Video so useless in Canada? Literally no way to watch it on your TV save for physically connecting a laptop to your TV via HDMI. No Chromecast, no Apple TV, no Android TV, no PS4, no Kodi add-on... I can keep going.

You can watch it on your PS4 if you make a US account, and then just switch to your Canadian one after you download Prime.

Glad I've more or less made the switch to PC gaming with the Amazon discount dropping. $70 with tax was as high as I would go with new games and I can always find codes for PC stuff for less.

Sucks for Nintendo stuff though.

Wow, Amazon Prime 10% of pre-orders is really bad and zero warning or information on their site. Very shady, I assume their logic is that it is still the best day-to-day deal for pre ordering.

Seems like it is best to pre-order everything via E3 deals.

I can watch it in my Shield TV, but I may have had to sideload it. I don't remember. Either way it seems to work fine with my Canadian Prime subscription.

Shady bastards. I'll be cancelling prime as well.

Anyone get their prime discount for Uncharted Lost Legacy? I preordered in April and still have no discount.

Was it really only that much? I think having our game prices skewed has made me forget what a reasonably priced game was.

Yeah, I dunno if I'll cancel Prime right away, but I probably won't renew it after this year runs out if they actually stick to 10%. Not worth the subscription at all.

I bought a year of Amazon Prime FOR the 20% off... and only got a few months of it. DEFINITELY cancelling, and never coming back. I feel like I've been scammed.

My god, is that ever going to happen? At this point it feels like the only way we'll ever see a discount is through My Nintendo rewards.

I guess Nintendo doesn't have photographic memory AYYYY!. :p

What a sad release. No retail release, but at least we got the F2P thing where you get the first two chapters with no play restrictions right? That's cool.

And wow, Amazon Canada going cheap on us. Luckily I never bothered with Prime. How much is it again (too lazy to check :p)?

I tweeted at Amazon (@Amazonca and @AmazonHelp) that I won't be renewing if the discount stays at 10%. Hopefully there will be enough push back. Any other ideas are welcome!

Complain to many CSRs and get a few consolation gifts of 5$ and extra prime months. Milk it for what it's worth, strike while it's hot.

I'm going through customer service to let them know my dissatisfaction that I won't be renewing and this discount is why.

Eh, this is a classic business tactic. Have some deals that are above and beyond your competitors, and when you have enough customers, shut it down. After all, they have all those customers used to them now, why offer discounts?

Pinning hopes on bestbuy.ca offering some kind of GCU in Canada but I really doubt they care. Plus they don't ship half their games to Quebec :(

I understand the business behind it but I hope people will vote with their wallets. 10% is a joke and I for one will not be renewing when my Prime comes due. I used to buy a ton of stuff from Amazon but I have slowly noticed that their prices have been rising and I can either find the items around the same price elsewhere online or in store. Might as well support the stores that don't charge you a membership just so it's a decent experience.

I don't think you realize how on the brink Best Buy is to closing, especially in Canada. I don't think they will exist in 5 years so I doubt they are in a position to over long term deals. Just look at their Boxing Day sales the last few years, very poor.

I see that the discount on AmazonBasic products is also gone. I always used Prime for 20% off batteries. See below (top is current listing, bottom was my last order):

It's pretty slimy to not update your prime subscribers about the change of deal. People pay for a service and if the rules change they are in the right to know. I suppose they've found out some people only subbed to prime for the 20% off and since games are loss leaders they've decided it wasn't worth it to keep these people.

Was going to pre-order a ps4 game, and noticed the price i checked last week is more now. Thought it was an error until I read here its changed from 20% to 10%... bummer

BB are completely overhauling their design in Toronto. But is that a desperation move? Because that'd be horrifically expensive to do this in basically every store no? Not something I'd recommend to a store at risk of closure.

Only 10% now?? lollll.

Will wait for my pre-orders to come then probably cancel. I'm only paying for student pricing so I guess that helps too

edit - even amazon basics stuff too. bleh

I have too many games pre-ordered to quit Prime...but as soon as I receive them all I'll unsub ASAP.

10% is not worth it.

Wait what? Any source on that?

This is what I'm most upset about.

Is there a place in Canada to complain? If Rogers screws me over, I can go to the CRTC, what about other businesses? Also, did they change this for Americans too?

I'd like to know this too. I've already let Amazon know how unhappy I am with this, but not like that'll do anything at all.

Although I have to say, it's pretty sad that I'm not surprised in the least that Amazon both made this change, and did nothing to let us know... I can't even find any official documentation/policy on their site regarding the discount. I think I got one pre-order left waiting then I'm clear to cancel their shit Prime service.

Would not surprise me, but as per usual, businesses are short sighted. What Amazon doesn't realize is that while, yes, I joined Prime for the 20% discount on games, I would shop almost exclusively at Amazon given that 2-Day shipping was included in my Prime membership. Without the 20% discount, I wouldn't have the incentive to purchase solely at Amazon and therefore why would I buy Prime?
