How bad? I get over 60 and never below it on:

I7 3770K and a GTX 1060 6GB.

From 30 all the way up to 60-70 FPS...

Can you share your graphics settings?

I read something about enabling Tripple Buffering and that it helps a lot with the frames... Will try that today and ser how it goes.

Regarding triple buffering, disable v sync in game, and enable it (and triple buffering) via NVCP

Regarding the bug, it -might- be possible to grab the missing ones if you go to old systems the galaxy map flagged as terminals but you happened to go to one out of the order it kept spawning them. I really don't know, sorry. This is all I can think of.

For an "atlas ending" do you have to keep one of each seed type?! That's absurd amounts of very rare resources! Let's steal from Reddit exactly how much of everything you'd need of stuff for that:

A ship crash is one of the random events that can appear when you do a "get directions" or respond to stuff at terminals. Probably a rare event when you do a scan from long distance, too. Usually, if you keep looking, you'll find an outpost somewhere on a planet with a distress signal at the console inside. There used to be a bug where you could spawn almost infinite crashed ships but I'm going to assume that's gone. Basically, find a planet with good conditions that has a lot of inhabited places and if you keep poking terminals and talking to aliens the RNG will come up your way eventually.

Tip: Even if it's a ship you don't want, if it has components you should temporarily switch over and dismantle any parts. Claim the new ship, dismantle, then move those elements back over when you move back to your first.

Thanks a bunch! At least i now know HOW to start trying to find one :)

I actually don't use triple buffering, I use vsync on fast in the NVCP.

Though I would for triple buffering you need to set vsync to just on in the NVCP.

Is that this same thing being described here? https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyT...want_to_keep_1_of_each_heres_a_chart/dloirgs/

I think it is what was described in this 1.32 patch note: "Fixed an issue that allowed players to miss Atlas Stations, which prevented progress. This will prevent new occurrences of the issue, a fix for those who’ve already experienced it is under investigation"

So it shouldn't occur for anyone starting to collect that stuff post 1.32 but they are still working on a fix for people who have been hit with the bug already. Sorry :(

Thanks for the response.

Yeah, that's it.

I have blueprints for Atlas stones that require stones I don't have blueprints for.

Lame. Plenty to do while I wait for a patch I guess. Might take a break. Been playing for 6 or 7 hours a day since the update rolled out.

Is there a way to know, before warping to a system, if they're going to have the specific planet types to get certain rare plants? e.g. can you know if a system will have a cold planet so you can be sure you'll find frost crystals (or whatever this farmer wants me to get to make some frost plant)?

Where's your sense of adventure? :p

But seriously, certain star system types and classes have a greater chance of certain resources. But some of the information is probably out-of-date now.

I can't even imagine this game will be like in a year from now. With Atlas Rising HG has gained so much good will back - the folks at the studio must feel great.

Can I move a specialist terminal? Disassemble and rebuild? What happens to the guy working there, will he move to the new one? Or do I have to go find a new one to recruit?

Fly over the surface of a planet and keep hitting the scan button. Eventually you'll find another ship. That's how I spent maybe an hour of my afternoon, and found four crashed ships. So that's something you can do if you have the time.

So what's the story with moving bases? I ended up a nice planet of islands, but that's made the Technician missions a real chore - the exocraft is useless here. I want to move but have heard if I have missions in progress they'll be bugged and I won't be able to complete them? So when is it safe to move? Once I've done every single mission? How will I know when that is?

If they keep up this level of support then they will deserve every dollar.
I'd be totally happy with buying a paid expansion after they do one or two more big patches. They've definitely earned the right to start making more money of this game, I was hugely put off by the launch but I'm totally enamoured with it now and feel like I got a bit too much of a good deal for £10.

Wonder how much more big update like that we will get before being paid dlc/update .

Anyway, the game is certainly going the way I wanted.

If they could add some kind of small cities and more building/ruin variation and more events type on planet that would be great .

But for now I think they need to fix the 1.3 bugs .

They have changed the Atlas Path considerably from launch the more I read. I'll get into it myself after I finish my survey of the current system I'm in.

Holy crap. Though I can't deny I would probably have been doing the same if I could.
Yes, but I'm thinking of this from an existential point of view. Where does he go? Is he in some strange limbo?

He isn't real

no seriously though

You're talking about a game where you walk through a portal to get to your base and build floating structures with a ray gun.. He becomes Space Atlas.

It all becomes easier to process when you remember that
the lore of the game is that you're in a simulation, with no idea how or why you are there, what's real and what isn't, etc. Even the basic multiplayer added so far has a lore definition - "glitches in the simulation".
Actually kind of a clever approach.

Nice i had no idea this would work either. will it be a green circle question mark icon or do ships have a different icon??

Also curious about this, as the ships i've been finding via transmission towers have been mostly junk, but the first two i ever found were just sitting at random, and were far better

I stumbled across a crashed ship that was pretty much crap, so I think there's a bit of randomness.

You'll hear a beep and an image of the ship will appear on your ship HUD, and an arrow on the screen will point in the direction of the ship. You can try it out near a space station, since the scan works the same for flying as well as crashed ships.

My four ships were all crap, so it was a waste of time. It's definitely very random what you find.

Did they change how you get better warp drives since launch? How do you get them now? I found a ship with a Sigma, drive but then I found an S class ship with no upgraded warp drive, but it was way better than my C class so I had to get it, lol.

You can look in gek systems at the nanite shop to buy the plans or keep visiting polo and get them all for free eventually.

Guys, help me out here. Everytime I open the galactic map I see an option for "Scan Discoveries". What does it do exactly? You press L3 on PS4 and then I see a "Contact" sign written on some star systems I haven't discovered yet. What does that mean?

It means it was already discovered by another player.

I believe it means that that system has been discovered by another player already.

Oh, paid stuff won't be coming out for a while, I don't think. The past year has done wonders in restoring good will but they will want to maintain the momentum. Having 3-4 more updates that expand the game and fix current issues shouldn't be at all unreasonable. Creatures will certainly get reworked/diversified sooner or later, the inventory system needs a second look for sure, ground combat needs more substance, MULTIPLAYER has a lot of ways to go, etc. That all seems achievable in reasonably paced update intervals. 3 months was the usual waiting time for all but 1.3 but that one probably has 2 updates worth of content.

The game is selling well again so I don't think they are in a hurry to charge us a thing.
I feel like they want to perfect what we have now to the best of their abilities. Then, when the time is right (I imagine in late 2018) they will most likely release a proper "2.0". By that point, charging us money will not be an issue whatsoever.

Interesting. With a universe as big as this the fact that I can see lots of already discovered systems close to where I am says a lot about how many people have been playing since the beginning.

Yeah, I'm going through the Atlas path and I've purposely been deviating from the optimum route because someone (a single player) has has discovered almost all systems along that path.

Well, yes and no. If you have just started the game recently, you probably didn't get very far to the center (if you are going there at all). Since many players usually start at a similar distance from the center, you are essentially in a sort of "goldilocks zone" of activity. So yes, a lot of players have played this and discovered a lot but that activity will not be consistent everywhere.

This seems true. As I've traveled closer to the center I've seen practically no one else's discoveries. At the start they were everywhere it seemed. Someone even claimed one of my discoveries before I did so myself.

Going to admit I didn't believe them when they said all future content would be free updates. Or, even if they meant it, that it wouldn't cover this much stuff. For a thing that was overwhelmingly GAF Fail of the Year 2016, they've made quite a decent game of it. Yeah, this is the 1.0 state the game probably should have been in originally and it would have been dickish to ask for more miney, but it's very, very rare for anything to get overhauled this much regardless of context.

Just give me at least somewhat variable gravity and I'll actually be content, lol.

Man, I'm at over 100 hours across all versions and still haven't stumbled across someone else's discovery. I purposefully don't go looking, but still spend awhile choosing the next system in the star map and have never seen one that's taken. Must be in a very different part of the galaxy to some of you.

Are you scanning discoveries? I lot of already discovered systems showed up for me after that.

Yeah true, I'm sure they made some pretty penny on last sale, I don't mind at all if they keep doing free update I just don't want them to stop working on it because this game has so much more potential

Same here not a sniff of anyone else discoveries, an I caned vanilla (and I'm doing the same this week with 1.3) benefits of a week off where its too hot to dig the garden :D

Oh and in other news, after trying to provoke a fight for ages finally tried deleting and replacing armorer to reset the sentinel ship fight then spent 30 minutes flying back and forth slowly wearing them down to completion, tedious yet done now :)

I've been hanging out around 4-5k LY from the center since ending my original play in 1.0. It's far from common to find stuff others have already discovered, but it does happen enough now to where I'm not shocked to find someone else's name on something.

There were some bugs in the original release with this. That's how the "you'll see other people" myth got busted, actually! Two people on Reddit just happened to start the game in adjacent systems so it was really easy to check on day 1 that they were lying. To accomplish one of their biggest selling points they were hoping on the microscopically low odds anyone would be near anyone else that was paying enough attention to where they were to ever check with anyone else, to say nothing of being on the same forum at the same time on release day. They must have been furious they were found out because was actually a very mathematically sound plan.

Pretty sure this is also bugged though (or the servers can't deal). Sometimes you just don't see the discoveries you should. The other day a planet I had just been to showed up as undiscovered.

I know about this, but really only from the patch notes (
"a glitch in the simulation"
). Did we know this before 1.3, or did HG just put a massive spoiler in their update notes?

We know this since day one. It was shown at the end of the original Atlas path if I'm not mistaken.

Nah, the OG Atlas Path pretty much says it outright, beyond several hints and nudges (Nada speculates a lot about this, for instance).
