And I hate to break it to em but Trump already broke his big campaign promise by having American citizens foot the bill (if the plan were to go through, anyway)

You guys are really misreading the whole 'goibg to war for Trump' thing I think. He sees a large part of the 'enemies' as being people who are currently in the WH, as well as many on capital Hill. He may not be going after Trump explicitly, but he's obviously going to create a lot of issues for the administration that is going to hurt Trump whether that is the intent or not.

They're largely screaming about how not-upset they are about this. "HAHA LIBRULS YOU CAME LOOKING FOR A MELTDOWN BUT WE'RE NOT MELTING DOWN HONEST!!".

Much of The_Donald is hyper-aware performance. They're frequently up-voting things specifically to look "good" or to frustrate librul expectations. Often in the comment thread you'll see some down-voted top level comment that's upset with Trump and then a bunch of people respond to agree. But it's down-voted because the swarm doesn't want to show anything other than total support for Donald. I'm sure their Moderators flex a lot of control on that front, too.
