This new Toppa would've interrupted that transformation, just saying

I'm honestly surprised people can't grasp what took place in the early fight between Goku and Beerus. Yes, Goku no longer had the Super Saiyan God transformation, and Beerus suggested that he had absorbed it, and the power of the god was still burning within him, but I never, not once, assumed it to mean that Goku's Super Saiyan form from here on out would have the same power as Super Saiyan God. I also never believed that he would never have access to super saiyan god ever again. Goku just never had legitimate cause before this arc to really use anything other than Blue since it's both faster and stronger. He was going for the win period, but now this is a tournament where conserving your stamina has never been more important.

It was just that in the moment of that fight with him and Beerus, his super saiyan form was just that powerful. It was a side effect, not a long term thing that would hold. And they don't literally need to explain every single thing in the very episode that they do it. Sometimes they just have to do things, explain them later, or even much later if necessary. Just give us some awesome episodes.

I think people assume that because Goku kept fighting Beerus at the same level when he lost his SSG form.

Beerus and Champa continue to be the best things about Super. Fantastic episode, and I am glad Dyspo didn't get eliminated.

For the people saying Roshi isn't cool, how dare you? He's Goku mentor, and is honored throughout the show by having his gi worn by the protagonist. Go skipping and zig-zagging carrying milk and think about what you said.

Universe 6 wins because an unconscious Kale or a cowering Frost remains in the arena after a Goku x Jiren double KO. And then Champa makes the winner wish back Universe 7 so he can lord it over Beerus.

Sounds perfect.

You mean Frost. The warrior gets the wish, not the god. No doubt Grand Priest will translate the wish, or the angel of that particular universe. Or they forgot to collect them in advance and blowing up one of either universe renders them inert, forcing a quest to get the dragon god that made them in the first place (bitching, we going back to Namek).

catching up on dbs. fun times, as usual ruined by goku but w/e.

Still surprising that hit is a reoccuring new character this show. No way that he's gonna survive until the end though. Any other strong folks left besides justice leaders and teletubbies?

Best smidget of fight animation this eps for me.

Great episode. Like in the manga, I thought the God <-> Blue aspect is really clever and gives both forms purpose. The biggest fault of God was to be forgotten right after its introduction, so seeing it in action now justifies its existence to me finally.

That advice shouldn't even need to be stated lol

You would think. Saw the episode and loved it outside of Super Saiyan God being shoe-in, came here and saw people calling it boring, the worse episode so far, ect, and I'm like 'what'?

This fight showcase strategy and wit especially from Hit after fans patted Gohan on the back for his 'smart' battles, yet this was called boring.

I hope Goku sees Roshi do the thunder shock surprise and then says something about Jackie Chun.

Yeah, I know, hence Champa having to force the winning warrior to make the wish.

Universe 11 is a collection of losers.
They play dirty and most of them are cocky assholes who think they're the shit because their on the Fraud Troopers, and when they're exposed as frauds they have no problem dropping their act and play like everyone else.

I wouldn't mind seeing all the universes wished back except for this one.

Two times he could have saved stamina instead of going blue and he doesnt until now. Two times. He also could have against Zamasu as well seeing as SSJ2 was enough to handle him.

And super rarely explains shit after the fact.

The movie mentions that Goku kept part of the power, the retelling specifically says that his power didn't change at all. The movie also has the scene at the end where Goku goes God again by himself and stops a blast that SSJ1 couldn't, while the anime removed that (since it wouldn't make sense with God = SSJ anyway). But now we run into this episode that doesn't make sense with the anime version of the arc.

The movie never claimed he only kept part. It outright said he absorbed Super Saiyan God, which is why Goku didn't even noticed he lost the form while fighting as Super Saiyan. And Goku didn't even know how the hell he went god in the movie. It was out of nowhere and not explained.

So Super Saiyan was always Super Saiyan God's level of power even in the movie.

Yeah the Pride Troopers are punks

I knew from the moment I saw that it was definitely a side effect. Goku has other super saiyan transformations. Unless his new base super saiyan form was going to look vastly different, they would never allow him to keep such power in his base form. It was a side effect from his initial transformation to super saiyan god. And he just opted to use Blue instead because it's an improvement over super saiyan god. If you really think about it, he never really had a legitimate reason to use it before this arc imo. He had plenty of power for lesser opponents, and there was no need to conserve his energy. It made more sense to just go full power.

It was longterm since it took Vegeta six months of training with Whis just to catch Goku after he absorbed Super Saiyan God.

I mean dont blame fans for the lack of an actual explanation.

Lol this is a tournament of survival, they're not always going to play nice. Most people in this tournament are pretty cocky. And only Toppo said that.

Goku's entry in that fight felt really undeserved considering the context...
Felt like he should have been thrown out right there and then. Also wondering if Toppo meant 'playing the hero' metaphorically or literally.

Also, Whis said that Goku was using to blue to match speed and power, so obviously blue is better than red in both areas. The show never set up any rule as to blue NOT being the better form, so there's no reason to false conclude that now. Blue is better than red, that's it.

That's how I felt. Goku and Hit didn't team up really. Goku just shows up to take some pressure out of Hit, but for the most part fought separately. It was like what Vegeta did for Goku against U9. I wanted more coordination.

My mindset right now is Goku and Jiren knock each other out, and Caulfila and Gohan are the last 2, and either they tie, fighting in base because they used all their energy against Jiren, or one of them wins, either Caulifla to push the development of U7 helping Champa's universe, which started with Beerus wishing Champa's earth back, or Gohan wins, which is what fans want, Gohan being the last one standing.

I think Frost gets knocked out after Piccolo and 18 team up against him. Kale will get tortured by Frieza, pissing Caulifla off.

Calling it right now Tien will be the first person eliminated on Universe 7 without registering a single elimination or an assist. He will put up a fight but in the end will lose.

Tien got an elimination already.

Besides, we know who is taking out Tien.
The saiyan prophecy of destroying the three eyed clan must be fulfilled.

I was expecting more SSG! I love that form. I'd give this epeisode a 7. Not as good as the last 2 episodes. I did like how this fight was about skills and counters instead of brute strength. Super could use more fighta like this.
