I don't mind the manga showing Goku and Geets still have A LONG way to go to even rival Beerus. Too many people watching the anime think Goku's a match for him with kaioken, screw that.

The manga scale isn't the anime scale, just look at Merged Zamasu from the manga and anime.

It wasn't meant to build up Hit. It was meant to build up Dypso. It was to show that even a powerful character like Hit wasn't unstoppable. Not sure why fans think Hit needs to look good every time he's on scene.

So you agree with me. I just said he didn't look good

The Pride Troopers were hyped throughout the entire tournament. Don't be so down on it when finally someone other than Jiren and Toppo lived up to that hype.

The 5 knock outs at once killed most of that for me

Hit struggling with someone other than Goku doesn't make him 'not look good'.

Cool, he did Heroes and one of the best cuts from the Beerus vs. Goku fight in Super.

I didn't say it was.

Just wouldn't mind the anime to show Beerus as top cat again and end any notion of Goku nearing him with kaioken.

Shit if I had my way I'd have him flatten Vegito.

Did they not flat-out say that someone was more powerful in this tournament than Beerus? That someone probably being Jiren? Well, if whatever Goku busts out gives Jiren a run for his money, he's likely passing Beerus.

Powerful non-antagonists exist in Dragon Ball to be surpassed by Goku. It's how the series has been since Episode 14 of Dragon Ball and it's not changing now.

Whis said someone was stronger, but didn't specify if that person is in the tournament.

Who says that Goku isn't nearing Beerus with the Kaioken?
Uh no one dude, which is why I wouldn't mind the anime doing something like the manga and ending that debate. For me personally I can't the stand the thought of them anywhere near Beerus, yuck.

I need to dig that up again. He was specifically referencing a stronger fighter in another universe as an roadblock for U7's chances to win the TOP.

I guess it's possible there setting up a shadowy figure who isn't in the tournament for a future arc. I just assumed this was Jiren hype.

Unless I'm wrong he didn't, he said there exist a mortal stronger than his GoD who is stronger than beerus or at least in an arm wrestling contest

I don't think he said he was in the tournament

Beerus isn't even the toughest thing around. It makes no sense to be stuck in his shadow forever.

Sooner or later, they will surpass Beerus and moved on to someone else.

U11 had a good strategy in saving the energy of their top dogs. Unfortunately for them, the other universes, U6 especially, turned out to be surprisingly strong.

I agree with him. Obviously they'll near him at some point, but I dont think it should be too soon.

I looked it up. He didn't say he'd be fighting, but they were talking about the tournament.

Goku asked Whis if they could win the tournament without Freeza's help. Whis says that he doesn't know, but is aware of a fighter more powerful than any of the Gods of Destruction - including Beerus.

So it's implied they'll be in the tournament.

obviously, even the manga practically straight up said they would, that doesn't mean I have to like it or that I want it happen anytime soon.

I am for the sole reason that once Goku surpasses Beerus, the enemies will surpass Beerus as well. At that point they can actually have Beerus fight without contriving reasons to sideline him.

If the enemies are much weaker than Beerus, you can't have him just clean house.

uh no i'm pretty sure Beerus and Whis would've said something by now if the mortal stronger than Beerus was in the tournament, Beerus would probably be way more nervous

I personally put Vegeta losing to Hit and round 1 with Black as being more humiliating than Gohan. Yeah, Gohan looked more pathetic, but he fought a foe way out of his league. Vegeta got toasted by people within his power range with Black adding salt by calling him the 'warm-up'. Black having Goku's face just added to the humiliation and it's one of the few TFS moments I can quote and find funny:

Vegeta: How are you so much more powerful than me!?

Black: Because Vegeta, a rose by any other name. (takes out energy blade and stabs Vegeta) is still Goku.

Vegeta falls down

Goku: Huh, different timeline, same results, huh best buddy?

Trunks looks on with no surprise on his face.

Fair point.

Where is this quote from?

I think the 'mortal stronger than a god' is from one of the nonparticipating universes and is a setup for a future arc. If not, then the whole surpassing beerus thing is going to happen now.

Considering how strong beerus is, that guy could have ended the tournament or early or wasted everybody

It's one thing for Jiren to save stamina

It's another thing for a GoD level fighter not to end the top

What is soon in this context? Super started in 2015 and it been over two years since Goku battled Beerus.

Where is this quote from?

From TFS short takes on Super. Google 'Deadly in Pink' for them.

Hmm, am I the only one kinda annoyed that Dyspo managed to hold on? I mean, I get that it's a battle royal and that stuff like this is going to happen, but he seemed to show pretty much all he's got against Hit and Goku already. Hell, forget about Goku. Hit pretty much figured out Dyspo all by himself and the only reason he managed to hang on at all was because of an assist from Kunshi (who finally managed to get his ass into gear and did nothing to help when like half of the Pride Troopers got wiped out a few episodes back.... why exactly? Yeah, I get it, we just have to assume he was busy elsewhere but since Toppo and Jiren are mostly just shown standing around doing not much of anything or caring until now, can we even assume that?). And then it was Kunshi who got ringed out, while Dyspo managed to get away while giving no indication at all he held anything back.

Like, I dunno. It just feels really unsatisfying and feels like an attempt to pad things out since we know that Goku/Hit can fight him no prob and having a round two wouldn't be very interesting or worthwhile (and thus having him fight other characters around the same level like Vegeta or Gohan would also be boring since they should be able to figure out similar starts to Goku and Hit) so either he'll just show up again to quickly get schooled and picked off when that should have happened here or he'll only show up to ring out someone like Tenshinhan or a weakened Kale which is like, who cares?

Just don't get what the point of keeping him around after him going from "OMG, can he actually take down Hit???" to fodder in one episode is, particularly at the same time they ended with the lead in of Toppo and Jiren apparently getting "serious." Made the whole episode kind of just end on a flat note for me, when there's no real need to pad things out like that. Clearly they're saving him for something, but I just don't see how whatever that something is will be very satisfying and won't amount to either him being fodder or just treating someone else as fodder (before the same happens to him anyway).

Those 2 little brats are the real antagonists of this arc lol, erasing entire universes like it's a goddamn game. Well, it's a game for them lol

Smh new DBS looks less lika a Dragon ball and more like dialy life of Goku in the mountains smh plus a whole level downgrade of animation quality

Had I not gone back and read the manga at the recommendation of another gaffer I would be pissed too, but this is par the course for this show. Just strap in and take it for what it is, fam.

So has Hit, yet he's still around. In fact, all his techniques we saw in Episodes 71 and 72.

The only Trooper he could have saved was the charmander, and the heavy guy, but he probably would have been too heavy to save.

Everyone else was in a pocket dimension where energy couldn'tbe sensed, and once it broke, they all instantly fell out of the ring.

I've never been either. I just remembered it when I was thinking about Planet Meat.

I should really go sometime. It's like a 5 minute drive from my apartment.

30 min for me still worth it.I looked up on Google tons of photos of the food, looks good. GAF DBZ/S Ramen meet up?
