Yeah, but every Destiny release has been at midnight Pacific. So I wouldn't put too much stock in what other non-Bungie releases have been.

I wonder if buying Destiny 2 with the expansion pass bundle actually saves you money. I bought Destiny 1 that way but I don't remember how much the first 2 expansions ended up costing.

Feels good to be back here, getting super hyped as Destiny 2 gets closer and closer to release. What do I need to do to be prepared? I've already requested the launch day off and will be ready to protect the farm all day long.

Saved you 5 bucks.

If you are generally certain you are going to consume every scrap of Destiny 2 content that is ever to exist, there's no reason not to. If you're not and plan to see how you feel about the prospect of sticking with the game after (i.e.) playing through the campaign, it's probably not worth the savings in advance.

I'm jealous of everyone able to take off on release date. Starting to get pretty hyped now that it's so close. Going to try to get some rest after work on the 5th and wake up early to get a few hours in before work. Can't wait for Destiny to consume my time once again.

We have 305 GAFers in these clans right now, with a split of 220 PS4, 63 PC and 22 Xbox. I've deliberately not included clan size in these cards because I don't wanna discriminate against smaller clans AND I want to believe small clans are viable. Don't prove me wrong, Bungie.

Blue is PS4, Xbox is Green and PC is Red.

I think I read it here, not sure. But someone said GameStop was opening at 9 for D2's launch, was that west coast only? I'd love to take my son, but I can't take him at midnight on a school night, lol.

My East Coast GameStop is opening at 11pm to sell the game. Best to call your local store directly and ask.

Even if it opens at 9pm they can't "sell" the game until midnight. Their Point of Sales system literally will not allow a sale to be completed before street date. At least that's the way it was when I worked there about 10 years ago and I don't know why they would have changed that aspect.

I know, but was just asking since I had read that. If the servers don't go up til 3 PST then there's no reason in going the night before to get it anyways I suppose.

If you have joined and can not post or see all of the channels, you must go to "#role_managment" and type "+roleme PS4".
Replace PS4 with XBOX or PC depending on your platform of choice.
After you have set your role, you are free to comment and see the other channels.

I just wanted to point the PoS aspect out because some individual Gamestop will advertise and do "Release Party" type events without mentioning that they can't actual sell the game in question til Midnight local time. The hope is, of course, to get impulse buys if other products during the wait.

However, yes it's most likely true that Bungie won't flip the switch on the servers until midnight Pacific so the whole thing may be moot for you anyhow.

I have just created my clan, OmegaBlack, and it's open to any fellow members of NeoGaf! Omega Black is one of the first big clans for Halo 5, and while we're in Halo-hiatus I have just created an extension for Destiny 2, if anyone would like to join you are more than welcome! It's Xbox in case the Halo bit didn't give it away.

FYI if anyone is torn between all the delicious clan options- Sherpas Under Duress (SPUD) is the de facto evolution of the School of Hawk from D1 and will be the banner under which I run newbie raids in D2. Of course, anyone from any clan (and even filthy clanless peasants) will be welcome to join newbie raids at any time, but if you are interested in running them on a regular basis and especially if interested in helping run them as a sherpa yourself, we'd love to have you!

It also has open membership so you are free to move about the cabin and rejoin with a click at any time.

I know there have been server load issues all day, probably since they just brought the system online and everyone and their sister started working on banners.. could be related.

Yeah, the site has been a mess the past couple days. I'm not a big fan of the new format either since it doesn't mesh well with my works network and the mobile site is messed as well!
