I get that he was being an edgelord about it, but that quote doesn't even seem that off honestly.

LawBreakers seems a lot more Quake/Unreal Tournament to me, while Overwatch is pretty much just Team Fortress 2.
That's something I won't discuss since the only game I've played out of those is OW, but throwing shit against your competition isn't a nice thing to do for a dev.

*Sigh*

LawBreakers released this month.

LawBreakers' dev posted this:

LawBreaker's isn't even on the list.

Do you get it now?

EDIT: Yeah, my bad, I decided I had to add something later to make it easier to understand.

I thought I read that wasn't a Lawbreakers dev tho? Its a quake dev or something?

I stand by not liking Cliff's demeanour throughout the dev cycle tho, he kept throwing shade at OW.

is no man's sky multiplayer yet?

a friend keeps talking to me about it and idk maybe i should play it

i like this take

You can see other players like blue floating orbs and leave messages dark souls style (but with free text). Star gates can help go to a specific planet.

They are still working on a more complete multiplayer.

idk why ppl would get upset over lawbreaker devs expressing their opinions about overwatch, it's like spicier than like when obsidian gets asked what they think about bethesda's fallouts but it's also more honest and more fun and from what i've heard lawbreakers is a perfectly decent game

The GITS shooter is being shut down, so what about my needs zky.

i mean every utopia has its hopeless right?

I don't know about that, but that's the LawBreakers' forum and they're marked as a dev, so...

Any dev is marked as dev on steam aren't they? I'm not sure if it is a LB dev or not btw, just what I read.

It wouldn't surprise me tbh, like I said, they seemed to take the old Bad Company "lets make fun of CoD even tho they crush us in sales" approach from the start.

They are only marked as devs if they are on their game's forum, as far as I know. That person also has the Boss Key Productions tag on their name.

Aside from that, they weren't lying. People just love to see "salt" from games they wanted to fail because it's "cool".

Not at all, no. In the forums, you're only marked as dev if you are the dev of the game the forum belongs too.

They were lying, because Quake Champions does everything they described better.

You're thinking of Valve employees. They're not marked as devs in the forums of third-party games but still have a green name.

Edit: Oops, managed to quote the wrong person. Fixed.

Can someone explain why people enjoy Battlegrounds? Every time I've played it's just been waiting for the match to start, running for an eternity without seeing anyone/never finding a fucking gun and then getting one shot from around a corner. I just don't get it.

You played the unfun part.

Since you already own it it's just better if you play it yourself some more to get an idea of what it is. I'm not sure people will convince you by saying "it's just really tense" or how great it feels to wipe a squad.

Try it out, watch a stream, play with a friend or two.

That's exactly what it is, you forgot running around looking for stuff for ages every time you die, and then being one shot by someone you can't even see.
people, who can understand them

it's weird, i wasn't expecting no man's sky to turn into terraria and i kind of feel a bit disappointed that's the direction it's going but i really like terraria so it wouldn't be too upset about it

I enjoy co-op games a lot, so being able to play a co-op murder-sim is fun. It's super easy to find action, just look at the flight path and focus on the large cities. You can also jump at School or Military Base if you're really thirsty.

GAF mods can be brutal sometimes. I mean, it's totally deserved and funny, but I almost feel bad for the guy.

It's either that or being perma banned for thread shitting and being a junior.

Since everybody is talking about great modern FPS games such as PUBG and Quake Champions, let me tell you this: I just finished the first episode in Wolfenstein 3D and the game is still freaking amazing after 25 years.

Check a few videos and learn the optimal places to drop. On this game you only run for a eterneity without seeing anyone if you're new or you actually want to not find anyone.

When you're new you need to land somewhat near to where everyone's dropping. You'll actually get into combat and they probably know where good drops are. You'll have no trouble finding weapons there either. While the ultimate goal is to be the last survivor, you won't have a chance unless you willingly let yourself die & learn.

It's really fun when you take someone out unawares. It's primarily a hunting game, not a traditional shooter.

Also it kind of runs like complete crap?

It's a really taxing game, but with a few tweaks I get mostly 60fps. It is a shame that it's hard to really nail down smooth performance.

This was my first time playing Wolf 3D, so there's little nostalgia involved aside from my love for the original Doom. Controls are very effective and precise, and you can run+shoot+dodge easily even without a mouse. Hard to believe it's a 25 year old game and one of the first in the genre.

Is that image from a mod where he's killing himself?

It's the ending of episode 1, the camera moves to show your character escaping.

People are still debating what is RPG and what not on Gaming side. New victim is AC Origins.

And it's getting tiring.

GAF mods can be brutal sometimes. I mean, it's totally deserved and funny, but I almost feel bad for the guy.

I remember a similar case with someone who's so salty over Witcher 3 winning more GOTY awards than Bloodborne getting a "Bloodborne is shit" tag.

That was brutal.

Not so far back, but I've began Medal of Honor: Allied Assault today. I went in with little expectations, but turned out to be very positively surprised. Today's games have too many gimmicks and subsystems, and sometimes you just don't need any of that.

It was a LawBreaker Dev. You can Google the alias and you can see that he was a senior developer on the project.

It's pretty accessible and easy to grasp, but also pretty unique in what it provides. You're not getting tightly paced matches that have you being meticulous on a small map, it's the macro game and all it brings both good and bad. Sometimes you might just be running around for twenty minutes and then get popped by someone you didn't even see. Maybe you have a fantastic run where everything's on point. Maybe you're being chased by a guy with a shotgun and manage to outmaneuver and bait him into getting a pan to the face. Maybe you're just driving around and honking to peacock for a fight.

The scale of the game and all the bits and pieces in play allow for a lot of interesting moments, both tense and mundane. It's not all about action, it's also about the commitment of it, the gradual ramp-up and sense of loss or satisfaction when you get down to death or a yummy chicken dinner. The stakes begin to increase with each passing minute you invest in a match and it encapsulates a good in-between with games that have persistence like DayZ and tactical quick round games like Rainbow Six Siege.

One of the things I like about PUBG is that it's the least competitive PvP game I've ever played. I'm never going to get 1st place anyway, so why worry about it? Just go in and have some misadventures. The game tends to play out some very dynamic, organic scenarios constantly from the variety of random elements (players, loot, circles, crates, vehicle spawns, vehicle "physics", etc.) that tend to be pretty entertaining.

Also since it's not a team game (unless you bring friends or subject yourself to grouping for some reason) the toxic factor is basically nonexistent compared to other online MP games and you practically have to go look for it instead of it just blanketing the whole experience.

Oh right, Ys VIII is out next month. Neat.

It's such a fantastic game. One of the best I've played in years, and a huge step up from Seven and Celceta in every single way (except maybe music, for which I still prefer Seven). It has a ton of content, yet (mostly) doesn't feel bloated, it has dodging and blocking while also bringing back jumping, great auxiliary systems like mapping, fishing, and defense/domination battles, a genuinely great story (my favorite plot in the series, though I think Origin has stronger dialogue writing), the other party members all feel more relevant story-wise and distinct gameplay-wise than in Seven/Celceta, the bosses are the best out of the trilogy... It's probably the most ambitious game Falcom has ever made, especially considering it was originally for Vita. (The localization, from what we've seen, is unfortunately a step down from the previous games in the series, but from what I hear, it at least doesn't have many outright mistranslations.)
