Do we know if you still get recognition for D1 if you don't import your character? Is it based on the account?
My D1 character has been wearing his helmet for 3 years because he looks like Prince Charming, only with bleached eyebrows.
I heard in D2 there's an "established" date on your character, or rather first reborn, so it would be cool to have that branded on your account rather than a specific character.
I really don't want to be Prince Charming with bleached eyebrows again.

Given that there's three character slots and you apparently only have one character, make a new character in D2 before shitcanning the old one.
Yeah I have considered that. Just want to things to be tidy and I'm odd.

Destin From IGN asks Deej if he'll be stuck with an ugly character going into D2. He gives a long winded answer before saying "The things the game remembers about you are account based," implying that we can delete and re-create new characters without worrying about missing out on veteran rewards.
My two takeaways so far.
This balance seems to be much better than the first Beta.
I've never seen so many diehard for a game be as overwhelmingly 'fuck console' as with Destiny lol. It's not even close. PC is the far favorite for almost everyone.
Might change my plans. I'm all about the raid though. Sucks.

Click the settings link and on the right side of the screen the yellow tabs next to everyone's name says "promote." Just click on that.
How did you get to that part? When I click on a clanmember it just redirects me to the same page i was already on lol

So this has nothing to do with anything really, but am I the only one who finds most of the "content creators "(hate that phrase) for destiny to be, well, lacking in some way?
I don't want to just say annoying, that seems to simple. Just listening to some podcasts and watching some videos and I realize I don't really like any of these people.
I appreciate what they do, especially someone like datto figuring things out so I don't have too. Just don't like to actually watch or listen to them so much.
I always thought about doing some stuff myself, but I know I have an annoying voice and I don't think I'm really that great. Maybe above average. But man, looking at some of these guys I figure I might give it a shot you know?

I love Byf and Myelin for their lore videos. Everyone else seems to just post the same videos.

All this PC hype makes me feel a little better about deciding to 'main' PC and rescheduling my holidays from the console release to the PC release but still, the PC delay is massively bumming me out.
There's no way I am going to be able to wait for the PC release, I will 100% cave and semi-casually play one character on PS4. I wish I could wait an experience everything first hand at the PC release but I don't see it happening. I originally told myself too but 1k+ hours on D1(low compared to alot I know) so I absolutely love this game. Least it means I will have a PC character to play with some of the old GAF crew should the opportunity arise. I definitely won't be raid ready at the launch of the raid though.

Anyone having issues with the Destiny app on android? Ever since it updated a few days ago it just decides to launch itself randomly several times a day.

I haven't had that happen, but notifications have been a mess and it fails more tgan it works. I've been using the desktop version through my phone with much better results.

I know Bungie have come out and denied it's Sony forcing their hand but I still believe it is.
I am normally not one for conspiracies or whatever you want to call it but the fact that even the beta was delayed roughly the same time as the launch leads me to believe something fishy is going on. I am sure they are trying to capitalise on people like me who would prefer the PC version but simply can't wait for it.
You're overthinking this. It's their first "day and date ish" PC launch in almost two decades. They want to make a good first impression, so the reality is they're gonna want all hands on deck for console launch, so PC gets sole focus for it's launch.

The US one is run by me and the EU is run by Daxy.
Before the game releases in a few months, we want to make sure each clan is filled with people who are going to play in the respective regions.
To help filter the current US PC clan between US and EU I've demoted everyone to Beginner status.
PM me here on Gaf or on Bungie.net with your bungie name to let me know that you are going to play in the "Americas" region OR comment in the US Clan chat
and I'll promote you back to a regular member.
I'm not going to kick anyone out during the beta but when we're about a month out from release I will.
That way both clans can be fulled properly and we can find out if we need to make other clans when the first ones fill up.

I used my alt account on my second PS4 and stationed them at the big bell then used my main to run from 2-5. It took a while and I had to change dates on both machines because people kept ringing the bells and jacking it up for me. Lame, I know but that's how I did it like a month ago. 😐

So just the PC version ? 👀After plugging in my DS4 the pc version is awesome. I can't wasd really at all anymore. This is great.
Still not double dipping though until cross save
Destiny felt great for a 30fps FPS, but at 60 it just feels so much better.

Amazing how good this game is on PC. Graphics are superb and the performance was perfect on my 1070/6700K setup.

I thought going from The Division on Xbox to The Division on PC (when network/server based lag doesn't rear it's ugly head) was a game-changer as well but this is on a totally different level.
Just buttery smooth performance all-around while being quite the looker as well. Player movement/mobility, gunplay precision, and general gameplay with M/KB translated amazingly well too.
I'm still gonna play the hell out of the Xbox version but I can't wait to sink my teeth into the PC version in October.
Playing with a i7 6700, GTX 1070 with 16 GB RAM on a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor and it doesn't even break a sweat at max settings during any of the game modes available in the beta.

Played a little bit of the PC version tonight. Anyone else having an issue with enemies popping up out of no where? It is running smooth everywhere else but I noticed it quiet a bit during the Homecoming mission and the strike.

A small change that I noticed in the PC version for vehicles: It seems that they removed side dashing completely. I got a pike during the strike, and was confused that none of the buttons I was expecting would dash sideways or do a side roll in midair like they do in the console version. Sure enough, there's option to set a key binding for side dashing in the options

I think the PVE felt ok at 30fps.. but not the PVP for sure..
60fps for both is a dream on console ;/
