IT - Official Trailer 1

I'm still surprised this movie looks good.

I never read the book, and I think I caught the old adaptation when I was young, but I remember nothing so I'm going in blind. Reallllly hope it delivers!

Just call it "IT" again.

No numbers, no colon, no subtitle.

IT (2017)
IT (2019)

I'm seeing this tomorrow night. Was at a party last night and the film came up, and like 80% of the room did this "oooOOOOH" thing.

I'd say anticipation is high.

They could call it Pennywise

Or The Losers (although that shitty DC Comics adaptation has that name already. But nobody remembers that, I don't think)

Happens quite a bit.

I'd imagine both of those films being distributed by Warners should make it easier if they wanted to go that route.

But it's usually for movies that have some relation to the original, whether it be a reboot, continuing legacy, etc. You don't see movies do it often.

Funny enough, The Losers (2003) comic book has no relation to the original Jack Kirby book other than the title. But that sort of thing happens a lot in comics.

Not for me. I don't want people giggling every time something scary is about to happen. It ruins the atmosphere and is distracting. Ideally I want the cinema completely empty.
I feel practically the complete opposite.

My screening for Annabelle: Creation was absolutely incredible. The crowd was cheering, laughing, screaming, questioning the characters, etc. It turned an already awesome movie to an awesome theatrical experience and that's something that I can't get at home alone watching it on my big tv.

I'm way too jaded and unfazed by horror movies to be frightened or surprised by them, but watching it with others lets me get to the heart of what's scary to the public and I adore that<3

I hope my crowd for It goes absolutely bananas.

This exactly. Great crowds elevate even mediocre horror movies to great experiences. Same for some comedies.

I read a article on one of those Zergnet sites or something that apparently according to critics it's really quite good. They say it stays true to the original while still bringing new and interesting things, it's actually scary and so on. All of this tells me very little though, gotta see it for myself. Which i am.

This wednesday at midnight in the cinema, yes sir! Please be good. I'm ready for a great horror. Been a while. Get Out was the last one, if we consider thar horror.
We'll know if that's true tomorrow since that's when the embargo lifts for movie critics.

I dunno man. I saw It Follows and some people were giggling in the back for all the intense parts. I was into it but they kept derailing it.

Another vote here for "IT Returns".

This is why I want to be there opening night.

Horror movies generally don't spook me but I love feeding off the energy in the room of everybody it does. Its a lot of fun.

I'd love it if they produce a narrated "interlude" video or two about Derry, narrated by adult Mike, in the run up to part 2's release. The interludes from the book are fascinating, and while there won't be room in the runtime for them but they'd make for great world building extras.

i think an interlude or two could fit in part 2 considering how there seems to be more stuff with the gang as kids than adults (or maybe i'm just imagining that since i'm kind of down on a lot of the adult stuff by comparison and think it'd need a god number of rewrites to sustain a movie to itself).

In general I think the adult story is going to see a lot of reworking. A significant chunk of their story in the book is them sitting around in a couple different locations slowly recalling their childhood, which obviously won't work with these films format.

Saw an article on Facebook from Veronica, which is Dutch and they said several movie journalists have seen the movie and said it was scary as shit. The best movie based on a Stephen King story, scary, bloody, funny and romantic. Even Stephen King himself apparently wasn't ready about how good it was.

Well bring on Wednesday midnight.
