shake it off has no effect! lol, this skill is so useless.
You'll be able to use it on the inevitable doom that needs to be removed in the 24 man and none of the healers brought Esuna.

Most annoying part of new Warrior is having to not use Inner Release in O2S if it's up when Long Drop happens on tanks/healers because you won't get knocked back.

I joined my first FC today because this group of players helped me decide on a glamour. I'd be a dick to say no after that. Bastards tricked me.

Noob question- If down the line I've decided to level an alt job, would vendor gear be sufficient for it?

Because I used to think I should keep some of these low level dungeon greens for them, but now it's taking up too much space lol ^^;

Vendor gear is fine for leveling up jobs. You'll run dungeons again and get the gear, but unless you see something you may want to glam, there's no reason to hang onto it.

Depends really. If you are leveling a tank or a healer then you can just grab vendor gear and queue dungeons and get upgrades and levels that way. If you're a DPS you might just want to say "fuck it" and spend your time up to 60 in POTD floors 51-60 because your gear there doesn't matter and potd to 60 works out faster if you take queue times into account. Then at 60 you can just grab the Shire gear with poetic tomes.

Ah right, I forgot about PotD.

Yeah I'm thinking of leveling a dps like Samurai or Ninja after I'm done with my Dark Knight.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
OK so last year when I came back from a patch break I caught the tail end of the Yokai Watch event with only two days left so all I did was grab my free Yokai and that was it. Now that I'm actually participating in the event I have to say DAMMMMMMMM

This is Atma farming all over again in the worst possible way with no increased drop rates NOW I see why I barely see people with the 2nd Mount and why they say this is the worst event we had so far. I mean WTF Square-Enix your basically asking players to farm the equivalent of 222 Atmas without the increased drop rates Atmas got in order to get all Weapons and the 2nd Mount....I'm not sure if I have the mental fortitude to go through with it but I will try.

My advice: Get all the minions. Get the lower tier mount. Get maybe 2-3 weapons you actually like the design of.

Then stop.

Can someone help me with my dragoon rotation, for casual leveling. I'm not expecting to reach the top in damage, but I'd like to kill these mobs faster then I am. I'm seeing some skills missing, did they remove some for stormblood?

I'm making progress but can't seem to fill the bar, which I'm guessing that is the time to use drops?

There really isn't much to it. Early on, apply Heavy Thrust, spam Full Thrust combo until you need to apply it again. Once you get Disembowel, Heavy Thrust > Disembowel > Full Thrust combo until you need to apply Heavy/Disembowel again. When you get the rest of the combo skills, you just do Heavy Thrust > Chaos Thrust combo > Full Thrust combo > Heavy Thrust...

No blood of dragoon? That activates other moves.

Then what about the drops?

BotD isn't really worth using until you hit level 58 because keeping it up is a pain in the ass before that, but if you're above 58 then you already have the full rotation, just pop BoTD, add the fourth hit to your two combos and keep using them one after the other reapplying Heavy Thrust every two combos.

Also what drops? You mean the jumps? Just weave them between abilities.

Sounds like you'rte in Heavensward already, you just got Blood of the Dragon? Later you get additions to your combos that add time to it, but as it is now since you don't have Fang & Claw/Wheeling Thrust it's just something you can pop for 15 seconds and then it wears off. While it's active, it provides a 30% damage increase to Jump and Spineshatter Dive.

You weave in the OGCD moves like Blood of the Dragon, Jumps, etc. while waiting for the global cooldown to reset.

Sorry I didn't clarify, I'm level 60 starting out in stormblood zones. No blood for blood?

And with Ring of Thorns gone, do we not have an AOE anymore?

Blood for Blood is still there, the only things that got pruned from Dragoon were Power Surge, Leg Sweep (moved to a role action) Feint (moved to a role action) Phlebotomize and Ring of Thorns. Doom Spike is now your AOE and at... 66? you get a new AOE ability that combos off of it.

If you're after the standard @70 opener:

Pre-pull Diversion -> Heavy Thrust (Blood of the Dragon + Battle Litany) -> Impulse Drive (Dragon Sight + Blood for Blood) -> Disembowel (Potion) -> Chaos Thrust (Jump) -> Wheeling Thrust (Mirage Dive) -> Fang & Claw (Dragonfire Dive) -> True Thrust (Spineshatter Dive) -> Vorpal Thrust (Life Surge + Geirskogul) -> Full Thrust (Dragon Dive) -> Fang & Claw -> Wheeling Thrust

Moves in ( ) are off global cooldowns, weave them in between GCDs; you can break up the double weaves if absolutely needed but ideally they're left as is. Don't try to double weave jumps since they take forever to animate. So the basic rule of thumb here is to get all buffs (sans Life Surge) up before Chaos Thrust, weave all your jumps and oGCDs up through your Full Thrust GCDs and make sure to Life Surge your Full Thrust. So, a condensed version is:

Heavy Thrust -> Chaos Thrust Combo -> Wheeling Thrust into Fang & Claw -> Full Thrust Combo -> Fang & Claw into Wheeling Thrust -> repeat

Obligatory individual fights will shift cooldown usage around; ideally you're after making sure you get buffs up for Chaos Thrust applications and Life Surge + Full Thrust as much as possible so follow that logic when you're left deciding buffs on the fly. This setup is specifically targeted more at just your own DPS and not party (aka, party syncing you'd delay Litany and Dragon Sight).

Done with the Yokai event. If anything, this has guaranteed that I'll never play a Yokai Watch game.

The funny thing is that if you want to be a completionist in YW, you have to suffer through an amount of time that's just as bad, with the amount of RNG involved to "catch" all yokai, insects and such in that game.

Wasn't Hino the one who required the Youkai Watch event here to be super grindy? That's what I heard anyway. He seems to really like that kind of stuff.

these seasonal events were never a good reason for someone to return to the game if they quit it in the 1st place

I didn't quit. I have an active subscription but I haven't been motivated to log regularly since I finished Omega Deltascape normal. I did some crafting/gathering for a week or so and got FSH/CUL/BOT up to lvl30 each and then,,, got distracted by PS4 games.

No need to let XIV take over your life if there's other games you want to play.

I'd only recommend doing the Youkai event stuff if you've got a podcast backlog you feel like doing some mindless grinding to.

Oh no, I missed eligibility for the falcon mount campaign! And just by a couple of days....

The Yokai watch event is at least tolerable to me because I never do FATEs, so I haven't gotten sick of these yet. It is at least convenient because dozens of players swarm these FATEs so it's all over pretty quick, and I get decent exp. Very helpful for my lvl 47-50 grinding.

Alright, I just thought I would ask as I am confused about what my healer partner in the static asked of me yesterday for next raid. She said my drawing cards is low on AST during raid and she said I like to redraw whenever I get a crappy card. She suggests using bole.... which to me is kind of useless but she did say I should use bole if I have no other options as it is better than praying for lord. Should I take her advice? All the years I played ast usually consisted of not using the trash cards unless I really have nothing to use. Obviously, she suggests bole being used last in the "useful" cards. In my opinion... I would rather NOT use bole as the damage reduction is already in effect by shields. What really needs bole that I dont know of? Anyway, she just wants me to use cards more often than just rolling for good ones so I can become versatile. I don't necessarily agree with her but it's something that did catch my eye.

So just to check the Falcom mount thing. I've been on a 6-month sub that expires in mid-Sept. Yesterday I changed my subscription to a monthly one so I can cancel after I finish the 4.1 content in Oct without committing to another 3 months. That monthly sub will kick in on 15 Sept or something like that. Once that kicks in, I will get the Falcon mount right?

If you're resubbing for just 1 month then I don't think it'll count for the falcon mount. You need to do the 90 day sub option.

i think it said something about counting days since july 1 so idk if you need to sub a whole 90 days; maybe just enough to reach 90

It starts counting from July 1st though, because I'm still subbed. At least, that's my understanding of reading the rules!

I mean, that's why the promotion ends on Sept 30 right? because July 1st to Sept 30 is 90 days.

From the website
If you have remaining subscription time that was purchased before the campaign period, or you have an active recurring subscription, we will calculate any remaining game time available as of Saturday, July 1, towards the campaign.

It seems that you're right! As long as you sub for a total of 90 days starting from July 1st, and you register a copy of Stormblood of course, you'll be eligible for the mount. You can look on your Mogstation account to see if you're eligible for the mount too once your sub payment goes through.
