Media Create Sales: Week 35, 2017 (Aug 28 - Sep 03)

Mega Man Classic Collection 2, Disney Collection, Okami HD (this one hasn't been announced yet, they could at least try to go for a simultaneous release). And of course, the Resident Evil remakes already available on other platforms.

Oh, and Resident Evil 4. Let's not forget Resident friggin' Evil 4, he he. THE game will port on pretty much any platform for all eternity.

Hope y'all looking forward to Resident Evil 4 Ultra HD Ultimate Deluxe Definitive Master Gold Edition on PlayStation 12.

I will buy a copy of Resident Evil 4 every generation.

If there are still people who don't believe in Capcom's complete lack of faith on Switch but everything is going according to keikaku with small support at first, next week's direct is a good chance to prove themselves right.

But something tells me they will be absent once again.

Okami seems especially unlikely since it got rated for every other platform. I'd have thought with the Wii release of the game they'd see more of an audience on Switch than XB.

DBXV2 restock could coincide with a big moment in the anime so I wouldn't worry about it being late.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

The only TGS announcement I see possible for Switch from Capcom is if Revelations 3 is announced.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Did we really expect much more than an USF2 type release, RE and MH ports for the first couple months ? If we had asked on GAF what kind of support the Switch will get prior to launch from Capcom thats what most people would have listed.

Capcom strategy is multiplattform - so expect whatever they are developing to find a way to Switch if they can port it. If R2make isnt coming to Switch i would be really suprised, but other than that its pretty much what i expected.

Not having anything for the first couple months doesnt mean much when current-gen titles take 2-3 years to develop.

Megaman, disney afternoon and okami should have been absolute no brainers for switch though

All these late ports to PS4 and XB1 must require big resources and development time. Except for being late even with whatever they have given to Switch Capcom can't deliver neither these.

Yeah, Capcom doesn't have the resources to also port games to the Switch. It's not their fault!

Street Fighter V is my guess, judging from USF2's success and the fact Capcom was able to impressively port IV to 3DS (and sold over 1 million units).

It's a Playstation 4 console exclusive but it was still published by Capcom at the end of the day, and it wouldn't be the first time a Capcom-published game originally exclusive to one console found its way to another.

Likely won't be the next NEXT "test" but I'm betting it will happen in 2018/2019.
SFV was developed, at least partially, with the assistance of Sony's funds. That's the reason it is a PS4 "console exclusive" in the first place.

Even so those are small budget lineup filler that will barely sell enough on established consoles.

The Switch is still a new system... It won't get every game scheduled to release on other platforms in its first year. That's just not how it works.

People ITT act like the Switch not getting small outsourced projects like the Mega Man Collections means Capcom doesn't have any plans for it. Switch will be here for a while...so will Capcom be.

Let's be honest.... Even if the games you listed would have been on Switch... Man Nintendo fans would be bitter about MHW skipping Switch and the new generation starting on other systems.

To me you could easily argue with Nintendo's history on VC releases, Nintendo establishing a presence with older games via the mini classic systems, the fact that it's a portable, plus the huge Neo Geo collection already establishing a base for older games, it'd be possible to start cultivating an audience on the system with those kinds of releases (collection of classic games), or see higher profile re-releases like RE4 (instead of Rev 1 & 2), Dragon's Dogma (that makes too much sense to me too given Skyrim and BotW, etc).

But really all it will take is some sort of real announcements, which they could do at any time if they wanted. Today even, tomorrow, the next direct like mentioned. But I'm not holding my breath.

Would be quite funny if a month before MHW releases Capcom announced MHW: Special Edition for the Switch, with exclusive improved features, etc, releasing in ~9 months after the console release... but I really doubt they'd ever jeopardize sales of a product like that...

So many hints and you still don't see it? Only the official announcement is missing.

I've seen posts like from GamesMaya and whatnot, but I've been disappointed so many times I just have to remain skeptical, no matter how much I want it to be true. :(

Really it's been like:

"Is it this week? No."
"How about this week? No."
"SURELY this week now! Nope."

Feels like it never ends sometimes.

Yeah no, this hasn't happened in these threads.

As far as I can recall, something resembling what you describing only happens when users see a spot cleared for a new direct video on the Japanese Nintendo website, but I don't recall retailers mentioning impending directs on a weekly basis.

Huh, maybe it's just me... likely is lol! :p

All the hints were pointing just before TGS, no everyweek. You remember wrong.

E.X. Troopers would be amazing.
Monster Hunter's exit from the Nintendo ecosystem ushering a wave of hunting action clones would truly herald the Switch as the Vita successor

Well that and a bunch of nameless otome VNs stinking up the bottom of the sales charts every week but I'm assuming those are coming

27./24. [PS4] Final Fantasy XV (Square Enix) {2016.11.29} - 2,644 / 1,000,712

In fear of looking like an idiot... Why is Dengeki listing FFXV here (and quite high) but Famitsu and Media Create don't even list XV in their top 50s? It doesn't make sense. (Did the other two just stop tracking it or something?)

I agree. I know there's been obsession about MH, but I think the absence of so many "easy money" games is a more telling sign of their lack of faith. Not expecting much from them in the near future, mayyyybe an Ace Attorney sorta tease at TGS but that's it. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, though.

I think the Direct will at least focus a bit on Metroid and a few other 3ds games while heavily focusing on the newer Switch titles.

If the Direct is next week, that'd be a couple of days before the Samus Returns is out, so featuring it in the Direct would be pointless. They've already shown everythign there was to show without going into full spoiler territory.

We'll be fixed pretty soon anyway, but yeah it'd be weird if a direct wasn't happening next week, or in the few days before TGS the following week.

Now for something completely different, I just read this on Gematsu and found that story pretty interesting. There was that Summer Lesson-clone made by D3 called "Happy Manager" announced at last year TGS, initially planned as a VR only title (just like Summer Lesson). D3 recently announced that the game will release in early 2018, but the platform choice went under some changes. From a PSVR only release, it then switched to PS4 + PSVR support at some point, and now it's seemingly only releasing as a PS4 title, without any virtual reality features. It's pretty weird how a game that was seemingly tailored for the virtual reality is now stripped of its core to release as a PS4-only title. Hence my question : is the VR state in Japan that bad, or has the hype simply completely died ? Note that this announcement comes a few days after Bamco announced the episode 3 of Summer Lesson, still only on PSVR.

Ignoring the fact that a company like Capcom that survives on infinitely porting ther games not porting to the newest system that can easily run those games is. . . . strange, the drama about World would largely disipate if Capcom localized XX. All this stems from that decision. You know this. It's only been discussed a million times.

Anyway, what are peoples expectations for COD and Star Wars this year. They didn't have PS3 versions inflating the numbers like Destiny 1 so I think they should be able to match their last iterations.

I'd blame the lack ability of D3 to make competent videogames.

The cold. It burns.

By the way, didn't see it mentioned here, but Spike-Chunsoft's Attack on Titan 2 (3DS) is out on November 30th. I hope they don't have have extremely high expectatiosn for this one, because I expect sales to drop sharply compared to 1st game.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I was more thinking along the lines of 30 secs to 1-minute headlines for most of the 3DS titles, kinda like in the April direct (Basically just another option to advertise Metroid before it's release).

They don't track the same retailers, so FF could sell well in Store A tracked by Dengeki, while do shit in Store B tracked by Media Create.

Ah yeah, I agree then, but that's a rather... safe (to say the least) prediction ^^
