The Boltor seems like a cool gun see many folks using it. Anyways, to make sure I have this right. If I use a forma on my Hek, it'll reset it's level but give me a polarity slot and increase it's capacity right?

Also I think I forgot to say, thanks to who ever gave me Nova Prime for free, finished cooking it today (like 2am this morning really).
You don't get extra capacity. The extra polarity helps you fit more in. It resets to level 0 with an extra polarity basically. That extra polarity might let you fit another mod in so it's increasing your capacity that way but 60 is still the highest it will go.

Ah word. Good to know my forma is almost done cooking so I'll probably drop it on my Hek.

OK so I played through what I assume is the tutorial- various missions leading up to a boss (Vor?). I read quite a bit about this game and it sounds great, the Warframe skills in particular sound really interesting. However, the few hours I spent playing consisted of me walking towards objective markers mashing the melee button and winning. I used my abilities a bit but they didn't seem necessary and I wasn't finding much energy. Even the boss I just walked up to and mashed the attack button.

I haven't been able to unlock any new equipment and didn't realize I'd be stuck with the weapons I chose in the tutorial bit for hours, or with the Warframe I started with (Mag).

That's all very negative, but I don't want to say I don't like the game because there is so much I don't understand. Does my account sound normal for the tutorial bit? Am I missing something? Does the difficulty go up so that you have to use your abilities intelligently? How long is it likely to be before I unlock new stuff? I did unlock two new Warframe powers but didn't realize I had them for quite a bit.

Started a few days ago and I'm still using starter weapons and gear. It's a bit of a grind, but people recommend leveling up your weapons to rank 30 as soon as possible. I think this helps you rank up your mastery rank faster too. Eventually you start getting blueprints as you unlock planets and complete Void missions. The initial grind is tough for us new players, but I can see where it starts getting real good. Enjoying it so far!

Got the rest of nidus in back to back runs.
You lucky dog, that happened to a friend of mine too. I'm currently sitting on four chassis...

One of my biggest gripes when I started out years ago was how unclear it was that my starting gear would be locked in, interesting that that bit hasn't changed. You can go to the market right now and look at blue prints for different weapons and the resources required to craft them. Spending money in game essentially cuts down on crafting time but there are some resources that are hard to get regardless. Completing the junctions on planets will give you stuff for free and unlocking all the planets should be your first priority. Save your starter platinum to by more Warframe slots and weapon slots, that is by far the best thing to do.

The early game is very easy, the difficulty scaling is based on what planet you are on and mission type. Exterminates are very basic and always are kind of easy, assuming you have proper gear. Interceptions, survivals, and defenses can be overwhelming if you are alone or you didn't bring a good crowd control frame. Most of those mission types have a kind of push your luck mechanic, where you can stay longer for greater rewards but the difficulty ramps up.

Don't be afraid to go ahead and build some new weapons if you are getting tired of your existing ones, but definitely don't sell anything until it's 30. I usually have one weapon that I like and is maxed out and then two others that I'm leveling. I rarely go into a mission now with all unleveled gear on the off chance a death squad or stalker comes after me, getting your mastery rank pro-rated to you helps a lot though.

I'm very lucky the last two days.
Got broken war and war blueprints yesterday. Also fleeting, blind rage, narrow minded and heavy cal and the electric dual stat rifle mod.
Today, first T2 spy Ivara chassis. First T3 spy frigid blast. Second Ivara neuroptics. Third Ivara BP and already had the systems from clearing the star chart. Got all nidus parts today in five runs. Two of them were double though so took seven drops.

Both were much easier than equinox.

Even the boss I just walked up to and mashed the attack button.

The tutorial isn't very representative of how the game plays.

I just started a few days ago, and had the same experience you did. Felt far too easy, walking around slashing things to death.

The most important thing I learned after the tutorial, joining public groups, was that NOBODY WALKS in Warframe.

I wondered why my the team could be miles away from me waiting for me to complete the mission whilst I walked around completely lost, or died pretty fast when groups of enemies surrounded me. Then I looked into the mobility skills and learned them, which helped me stay with the group and survive when things got more difficult.

Look up the maneuvers on the wiki, practice them a little bit, and I guarantee you you'll have a lot more fun.

I'm still patiently waiting for that dumb shadow stalker to drop the War blueprint. I did get Hate and Despair back to back after a long time of playing, which was weird.

Edit! Broken War is actually a quest reward and you'll get it catalysed for free as well. They made it a drop in case people sold their broken wars and then would be locked out of making the intact War.

there with you on that War BP train.

Got the rest of his weapons recently after many many hours and confrontations.

I regularly do Spy missions for fun and still haven't seen a single Ivara part.......

In order to get all the ivara parts i had to do
like 6 missions for the systems
like 3 for the chassis
about 20 for the neuroptics
and something around 60 more for the blue prints.

I think total i spent something like 4 hours a day for about 2ish days doing spy missions. I did the grind with a friend so we were able to make missions take about 5-7 minutes. One would go for A the other for B, when A was done they'd go to C and the other would try to fnd the extraction point early lol.

Farming Ivara made me really good at spy though.

Except for the ones on the newish tilesets I'm not familiar with. Especially Kuva Fortress spy fuck that.

Kuva fortress only has three vaults so those are easy to learn. It's just that they're long and really weird compared to other spies, sort of like how people don't get Lua very well.

I got the broken war already but don't want to use it to craft war so want to get a second broken war to use to craft war.

I just did sedna for t3 spies. Was really easy. Just used nyx to mind control the sentries since can't one shot them if they are eximus variants.
Kuva fortress only drops the chassis I think? Does have a higher drop chance than t2 though.

About to prestige Ember (honestly, my favorite frame) for the third time, is there even a reason for me to get Ember Prime at this point? Hmm seems they have more mod slots? Guess I gotta hunt for Ember Prime

I eventually gave up on getting War (and another Broken War to craft War with) and just paid DE their blood money by buying Hunhow's Gift. My clan's never going to build Hema though and I refuse to buy it.

No increased capacity. She has negligibly more shields and armor, counts for MR, comes with two polarities -- basically just two pre-installed formas -- and has a cool fire mohawk. She's also vaulted, which means the only way to currently get her is to buy her from another player, and she's expensive (~600 plat). Up to you if it's worth it.

Yea fuck that lol, I'll pass. I just assumed she had more mod slots someone gave me Nova Prime, edit: Oooooh it doubles mod capacity. I need to get an reactor for Nova.

Generally I believe the differences for Primes compared to base frames (outside of a few exceptions) are as follows:

-Different skin

-One abilities looks slightly different

-A couple base stats are slightly better

-Added and/or different polarity slots

-They can interact with Death Cells (I believe that's what they're called) to give everyone around them 250 energy.

Ah word. Meh don't see a point in hunting an Ember Prime. I will say though, I love Nova Prime's look, scarab beetle looking with leg warmers

Ember prime has been out of the game for a while and her full set costs anywhere between 600-900 plat :p

Also she's not that much of an upgrade, she has a bit more armor and a bit more energy, and instead of having two dash polarities she has a D and a V. Just keep fromaing your normal ember instead.

There's enough stuff to grind for without digging into the deep past for Prime frames unless you're really in love with one of them.

Got Nyx Prime up to lvl. 30 again after a forma, only to realize that the two factions I'm at max with (Red Veil and their ally) don't have the augments for Nyx... If anyone is ranked up with either Loka or Hexis(I think) I'd be willing to trade augment/prime BP/plat for the absorb augment.

Otherwise, time to start grinding Loka from -44k rep to max.. Here we go.

I got you dude, In game name is Weebdrill. I'll give it to you for the price of FREE!

Its Death Orb.

Everything else is about right.

Also Ember Prime isn't a bad frame to get its just that she's unavailable and you have to pay crazy amount of plat to acquire. She has already been unsealed so it might take some time until shes released again but given they have changed how the unsealing works we'll see.

Ember is my favorite frame in the game by far but nah, I'm good on dropping 600 platinum for her.

I am enjoying Nova so far though, I need blueprint for an Orokin Reactor so I can increase my mod capacity.

Watching Ember Prime's price change over the years has been fascinating to me.

Ember Prime was my first ever prime, I bought her full set for like 35p or something a few month before we even knew that she was going to be vaulted. Now part of the reason why ember prime is expensive is mostly because of her BP, it used to come from Orokin Derelict Survival on rotation C I believe. Most people weren't really stockpiling those but would rather just farm the BP so they could sell the rest of the parts for at least SOME plat. Other than that, Ember P parts were basically baro fodder because they were plentiful. The other reason why she's expensive now is because Ember used to suck something serious so none of the parts were stockpiled by people expecting a rise in price.

Like holy fucking shit she used to be so bad. Her 4 which is now known as this passive murder aura in star chart missions that you leave on and for minimal energy per second kills like 8 dudes every second before you can even see them. Well back then not only did it have high energy per second drain, but the thing also had a max duration so you had to keep recasting it. This meant that to build for her 4 you needed a lot of duration which meant you couldn't get much range, which meant you couldn't get much strength. On top of that the firequake augment also wouldn't be released until a few months from when she was about to get vaulted, so basically if you were building for her 4 with high duration you might as well build for her 2 which offered some CC for less energy cost.

Ember Prime was to be vaulted on October 6th 2015
On October 1st something crazy happened.
World on Fire now drains 3 Energy and has had its maximum duration removed.

That single change basically turned ember into the frame people love today, some people went crazy and started framing her BP but few managed to do stockpile enough in the short time they had. As soon as she was vaulted her price went up to about 300p and has been climbing ever since.

First time I've ever seen one in almost 700 hours of playing. Look at what frame Rinzler is using.

Spent some time with the new Arca research weapons. I love using the Plasmor with Harrow. Its wide projectile and innate punch through let it easily score headshots to feed health/energy, and Penance cuts the reload time down to something more manageable.

The Scisco is also more fun than I thought it'd be. Scope levels are tolerable and the pseudo-Sniper shot combo mechanic is cool; it's easy to cap and maintain, the bonus is noticeable, it doesn't punish you for missing and it all-in-all just generally works well on a rapid fire pistol with a reasonably sized magazine. I also like that it shoots a fat, Opticor-style laser beam instead of small energy pellets like some of the other Corpus secondaries.

I keep every weapon that isn't easy to reacquire / every weapon that I remotely enjoy. Latron Wraith is a weird gun, it's hilariously strong in conclave but who really cares about conclave lol.

Comfortable in the 30s enemy range but I'm still getting the same ol mods. Le sigh.

In other news, my Hek is currently at 1.8k puncture damage, which I've been using to level up my lesser used frames and weapons for MR.

Most of the progression in this game is lateral rather than vertical, soon you'll realize that there are other things to grind for than mods but there are also some high end mods you might want eventually.

Almost all mods you get from here on in are fodder for Endo or Credits.

its possible now since invasions have the pieces but its just playing the waiting game at that point.

I don't consider camping invasion weapons easy to reacquire since that's mostly RNG lol. And usually when they've been out of invasion rewards for a while "like the sheev" their price goes way up to like 100p for a set.

What sort of mods are you looking for? If it's anything basic, I probably have extras I can part with.

This is very true. Most weapons are going to use some combination of relatively common mods.

Basically this. If the BP isn't available from the market or dojo then I will keep it. I'll keep most dojo weapons too if they require a forma to make. Outside of a few weapons that take a crazy amount of a resource.

I'm really happy with giving these Vandal and wraith weapons as invasion rewards, they used to only come from one time events and you'd never see them again for months. Baro started carrying some of them, but I think they were just waiting to have some kind of critical level of weapons that would allow them to do this.

Also yeah, Ember Prime being so expensive really weirds me out, she was a trash frame for the entirety that I played. You could kind of build her for crowd control, but she would do hardly any damage, look how swole she is now.

I am probably a crazy person, but weapon slots are pretty cheap platinum-wise, so I just keep basically all of them.

I'm good just didn't have a clear understanding of the progression. Thanks though
