Huh? It has nothing to do with Kairi Sane, I like her quite a bit. The problem is putting MMA people in the ring and expecting it come off as anything but ridiculous when they lose. It works with Lesnar, but that's because Lesnar was in wrestling before MMA and they generally don't put him in the ring with dudes who are 50+ pounds lighter than he is, e.g. Daniel Bryan or Finn Balor.
I have to admit I'm curious what idea you were reading into that...

Watched Smackdown for some reason and the MYC this morning, on the finals... Thank the wrasslin' gods they followed through with what was done in the tournament, I didn't hear about the NXT match thing but they kind of telegraphed Shayna losing with all the talk of her winning and other stuff but good.

Also yeah i wouldn't be surprised at all if Shane goes over. There was a news regarding Vince wanting to make more money with his son. The real target is not to make Owens a legendary heel, but to make Shane the savior of the family.

The 90s was a different era where wrestlers were portrayed differently and things like UFC were viewed differently.
And I don't think that it says anything about Kairi's abilities. I just think that wrestling as a performance art has certain gimmicks that are fine when they're placed with other gimmicks, but that they look foolish when they're put up against a gimmick of "legitimate shoot fighter."

Well...yeah, Vince getting stunnered is a landmark wrasslin' moment showing that NO ONE was off limits to the loose canon that is Stone Cold.
Since then authority figures getting beaten up is relatively standard practice, diminishing returns and all.
The only repeat of that kinda scenario that really left me shook was of course Kane tombstoning Linda McMahon on the stage, another classic Kane moment to put in the Kanetober list.
Meanwhile what are the other times Vince getting beaten up has been a notable moment in recent-ish memory? I'm thinking the Nexus but I swear there was another one that felt pretty surprising since then (and no, it's not da big dawg)
