PES 2018 - Pro Evolution Soccer |OT| Man Blue vs Man Red for the KONAMI Cup

Not played a football game in over 10 years ive played both fifa 18 and this demo this morning. Both had great fun for me.

Im mostly looking for just single player fun etc which out of two would be more suited?

Works fairly similar, but no auction, although there's auctions for scouts.

Have two squads so you can switch between them to rest players. You get matched with similar level teams in divisions. Probably save the myclub coins up for a decent manager or good special agents unless you're willing to pay out for it. Due to being stuck with the managers tactics, probably worth familiarising yourself with the advanced instructions so you have a bit of flexibility.

I mean, once it's dispatched it's with Royal Mail. You shouldn't be using anyone that ships with Royal Mail in the future if that's the case.

It always will be coming from FIFA. Took me a while to adapt when I came back to PES.

But when you get used to PES, it makes FIFA feel hilariously bad. I couldn't get through a single half in the FIFA 18 demo.

Though less featured that Fifa's Career mode, the Master League in Pro Evo is more fun.

How's the commentary on Pro Evo these days? I've been Fifa for the last 7 or 8 years, I remember it always being the subject of ridicule.

Is there really no way to add licensed names and up to date squads to the X1 version, even if it just stops at that (with no new graphics or etcetera)?

That's probably what will make me pick FIFA over PES in the end if the answer is "no way"

Squads do have a live update baked into the game, so they'll update when Konami pushes an update out. For the rest:

What you need
A USB stick with at least 2GB space
An option file (e.g. PESUniverse, PESWorld, WEHK)
The day one Live Update

PS4
1. Download your option file of choice and unzip it.
2. On your USB stick create a folder called WEPES. Inside that folder copy all folders unzipped from the option file
4. Plug the USB into your PS4 and start PES
5. From the main menu go to Extras > Live Data Update and install the day one update (this is important, otherwise transfers won't be current).
5. Go to Edit mode > Data Management > Import teams
6. Select all teams that appear, leave all options as default and press Import. Go and make a cuppa and wait for about 10 minutes until the automatic import is done.
7. Now choose Data Management > Import Competitions. As with teams, select all competitions and Import.

Once those have imported, that should be it. Save your edit data and play a match to check everything looks right.

PC
You have two options, a PS4 option file, or (when they're out) a PC patch.

Using an OF
1. Follow the steps above but instead of copying your WEPES folder (with the OF files inside) to a USB stick, put the folder in your Documents > Konami > Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 folder
2. Once this is done start PES and follow the instructions above from step 5 onwards

Using a patch
1. Download and unzip your patch of choice, it will be an .exe file
2. Run the .exe, point it at your PES install location (probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pro Evolution Soccer 2018)
3. Let it install, start the game and that's it.

Xbox One
Unfortunately there are no complete option files for Xbox One, nor will there be. Blame Microsoft. Their policies disallow the import of data which the game requires to be able to load user-created option files.

Only gripe I have with PES is the commentary but oh well. At least I know how it feels to cure cancer when I score a goal. There was a quarterback reference thrown in and have never known commentators to use a lesser known sport reference in what is arguably the most popular sport on the planet.

Still no answer, but can anyone tell me how to play 2vs2 online coop? Can only choose 3vs3, 3vscom or adding a local friend, i tought 2vs2 would be an option?

The US version have the legendary KABIRA COMMENTARY!!!!

So good! It´s like going back in time for the PS1 and PS2 era when i played tons of Winning Eleven. Unfortunately the commentary is not in EU version.

Adding a local friend is the only way to play competitive 2v2 AFAIK

Try creating a CLAN in coop mode and inviting friends to the clan. You can also follow people that you played coop mode and play in any mode of the game in coop, like Master Leaguem Champions League, League, Cup and even MyClub.

I played the two demos over and over last night, and PES is so much better. I mean game play wise it's not even close.

Hahahahah this cannot be possible.

I literally bought this game to play coop seasons as with FIFA. They said the mode was available.

How is the 2v2 mode working then? Someone can explain me please?

Yeah i tried the clan but its stupid cause i have to invite friends, it would be easy if it was just matchmaking , team me up with other user and play against the other 2, still cant believe they didnt add the 2vs2 online coop, why the hell do i need the 3vs3??!

I had the same issue. You need to make a clan and then invite your friend into the clan lobby (online co-op is the menu option). Once your friend is in the lobby (works for 2 or 3 players total) you search for match. It doesn't necessarily match you with the same number of players, so if you were expecting some jank, there it is. In either case, it works!

Also guys, anyone else need added to the OP? I know it's terrible but it's my first OT 😂

How do I get the additional settings? I can only find resolution and fps 60/30 for in game and replays?

I had to do this too, but this was not what it was advertised, they clearly said there would be 2vs2 online coop, and you can only find 3vs3
