AV said 1st rd picks Lias Andersson, who will play tonight, and Filip Chytil are both realistic candidates to make the @NYRangers roster.
Both 2017 first rounders still in the mix to start the team with the big club. Right now I'm putting Andersson's odds at about 50% (we'll see how he performs tonight) and Chytil around 10%. I think there's going to be more inclined to wait on Chytil, who is going to go back to the Czech Republic if he doesn't make the NHL squad.

Add me on Steam if any of want: caldermuyo

Oh if you message me while I'm playing pretty much anything other than PUBG it will probably be my wife and she normally just ignores it lol.

How come PUBG doesn't have great reviews?

Besides its dearth of cuddly and saccharine content

because the review system on steam is borked

Couple of people got banned because streamers accused them of stream sniping, and some LOLMAO 4CHAN ARMY XDDD all gave the game negative reviews

just scroll to the reviews and check the first 10 or so, it's all kids complaining about that specific situation

Steam reviews are unbelievable - somehow they created a system that combines the worst elements of your average Youtube comment section with hivemind gamer culture. Love the reviews where kids complain about being banned for cheats their brother/cousin/friend/deep state CIA blackops operator installed on their PC.

I'm not sure I have you yet Dubbed. Calder, I added you years ago back when someone set up the NHL-GAF Steam group.

What bask said.

There were 2 reddit/4chan inspired campaigns against the game. The first was over some guy who got banned for stream sniping. The second was about BlueHole having pay-to-open crates during Gamescom. The former was completely bullshit - turned out the kid was stream sniping - while the latter had some legitimacy: BlueHole had said they wouldn't have pay-to-open crates until after the game left Early Access.

So Fucale and Lindgren will be the main goalies in Laval and McNiven will start in the ECHL.

When Montoya leaves the Habs in a few years it'll be either Lindgren,Fucale or McNiven as the backup

Looking forward to seeing both but even saying Chytil is a consideration feels like a stretch so I guess it's just motivation. I'm thinking Andersson may get his 9 game cup of coffee unless he plays very poorly. Chytil would have to be amazing to get the same. More likely one of Farnham/Desjardins will make the cut.

Still fun to FINALLY have some 1st round picks who actually even could make an opening night roster, really. When we do have 1st rounders we tend to do well with them recently, overall. Let's not count McIlrath =/

Anyway, YAY HOCKEY!

I'm assuming AD/AG stands for winger, but i can't figure out the abbreviations
I'm assuming it means Center as all the players with it next to their name are both wingers / centers, but they already have the C for other centers... *shrugs*

^^ there ya go

Just saw Subban's advanced stats last night compared to the rest of the D. He was much better than the rest of his peers.

Leafsgaf, if you're interested in advanced stats then give Darryl Keeping a follow on twitter. Tracks the d-men and might be helpful in determining how effective Liljegren is

I think that lineup means they're going to try Danault as a winger in order to keep Galchenyuk at center for some reason

Nah Danault has centered AGally and BGally all training camp, and Bergevin has blatantly said AGally will be a winger to start the season.

Love how salty other fans are about this Lupul situation. They just wish their teams had the gumption to circumvent the cap as effectively as Leafs Nation.

About LTIR. If you are under NHL contract, want to play, but your team says you don't pass the physical regardless of what the reason is, could you play in some other league or are you literally stuck?

I mean you could technically just say you retire from the NHL and then play in another league. That would be the only way right?

There's the money implication. Would you get more than the millions you're owed by the NHL club that you're collecting while sitting?

Right right. But if you wanted to play and the NHL has you as LTIR the only thing you could do is send in your NHL retirement papers, right?

I don't know the legal ramifications of it. If a player retires is he owed insurance money due to his career ending in injury? If he then comes back to play how does that affect the original insurance claim that his career was over? Best to just sit and collect your money and go clubbing like Lupul is doing. Oh, we are talking about Lupes right? :D
