Sean Spicer shouldn't have been invited in the first place. He likely got a good amount of money for this rebranding appearance. It was specifically Colbert's idea to invite him. He's back in the public limelight and schmoozed with other popular people. He's likely to get further media appearances. Maybe his own TV show. Jason Isaacs is accurate in comparing him to propaganda ministers.

I dont think people need celebrities teaching them who to like and not like and I generally disagree with the notion that the other side should be removed entirely from the conversation for fear of the huddled masses being brainwashed because theyre too stupid to be able to hear uncensored politics. His views represent half the country and as stupid as they might be in your eyes, they are a part of the conversation. And the sooner we realize that being holier than them and refusing to engage doesnt actually help us politically and in fact hurts us, the better. He was a press secretary.
