First they put the l33t speak hammer bros in Superstar Saga, and I did not speak out, because I did not like l33t speak

Then they put the doge memes in Triforce Heroes, and I did not speak out, because I did not like doge memes

Then they codified the pronunciation as sness, and there was no one left to speak for me

NoA Twitter trying to jump on a bandwagon without thinking of the repercussions is all this is. It's not actually Sness they just want to be cool and now everyone is gonna think this is the real deal.

Damn you NoA. When will you ever learn?

It's not even NOA it's Nintendo NY twitter Who cares what some geek intern has to say.

I have only ever said Sness. All my friends have only ever said Sness (even after I moved to another state). People on GAF like to say Sness is a "British" thing but I really think that's just how a lot of people said it.

Especially if you weren't gaming-conscious during the NES. My first console was an N64 and I went backwards to the SNES afterward. There was no logical way to pronounce it other than SNESS because it's one syllable versus four.

I think, if you say S N E S, you are possibly showing your age.

This is fucking horseshit. How can it be SNESS? There aren't two esses at the end of SNES, so ergo, it must be pronounced snez. It's pretty simple.

Why would a poll be added that has nothing but incorrect answers?

Everyone knows that the system is pronounced S-N-E-S or (if you're regressive) Super Nintendo.

Edit: I'll also accept Super N-E-S or even Super Ninty

Basically, the only pronunciation that is wrong is sness

you've heard of elf on the shell, now prepare for ness on the sness

Are you sure that's what the post means?

I thought that just like the elf on the shelf they were telling everyone that due to "unforeseen demand" no one will be able to touch one of these during the holiday season

this is the best wiggler wednesday ever

That sentence made me laugh harder than it should.

I said it both ways. As a child, I always said sness, but find myself saying S-N-E-S a bit more often now. Maybe this thread can help me to make an informed decision... hopefully... maybe. Nah, you know what, that isn't going to happen.
