Essun, Nessun, and Alabaster from the Broken Earth trilogy by NK Jemisin. The first book starts with Alabaster removing the largest city on the planet by cracking the plate below and creating a new volcanic rift that runs the width of a continent. And he's the weakest of the three mentioned.

The fuck.....??

The Discworld books had some crazy stuff for a series that is mostly satire.

I would argue satire lets you get away with even crazier things than serious stories. Like Rick and Morty, Kingsman, and One Punch man can pretty much disregard rules because it is not about things being fair, but about them being funny or making a point.

If even half of that is accurate then Strange wins handily. I don't know enough about all of his comics to verify, but that kind of power would make pretty much every one else listed in this thread free.

Hell, that would wreck the reference of the meme this image is based on to my knowledge (Machine God Demonbane).

Ask our friendly neighborhood comic enthusiast, Slayven for the approval of that pic. My guess is that it's probably true.

I once told my sister, who's a huge Harry Potter fan, that Gandalf would destroy Dumbledore in a wizard fight. She wouldn't talk to me for a day or two after that.

strange has so many feats under his cloak that he pretty much only loses due to PIS.

tho iirc cyttorak can fuck around with strange something fierce.

Even in Eddings books his powers were fairly minor for the most part, plus he was constrained by terrible writing and bizarre plot justifications all the time.

(I recently re-read them all. Gods they are bad. Don't destroy your childhood memories, do not re-read Eddings!)

Good note. I have fond memories. What did we like about it lol

Ciri from The Witcher

She's a source, meaning she has a natural affinity for magic, and also a child of the Elder Blood, meaning she can control time and space.

Bitch can literally travel to other worlds and other time periods whenever she wants to, on top of her affinity for regular spells and other magical properties.

I really hope we get a Ciri game after Cyberpunk comes out.

I now want a series ala Doctor who with Ciri traveling to other dimensions, solving troubles and such.

People sleep on Strange. Dude told his patrons to fuck off and invented a new form of magic that scared Old gods, concept beings, and demon lords.

Welp, if Slayven approves of that image (on top of Coriolanus already saying it's legit), we don't even need to have this argument, Strange whoops all of the people in this thread as I previously mentioned. XD

-Kefka after absorbing the magic of the three statues
-Urza, Yawgmoth, and Nicol Bolas pre-Mending in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse (they're all on pretty equal footing, I think)
-Ghaleon
-Lavos
-Sephiroth
-The Man in Black from The Dark Tower
-Pennywise, if his abilities count as magic

He did sit out the civil war because he thought he was too broken to take part of it

Since whichever side he's in they win

Current ongoing kinda fix that by having anti magic alien inquisitors basically killed most of magic thereby nerfing him

I'll be the first to say Raistlin.
Elron is up there too

He did end up killing all the gods and ruling over his grey mush world.

Pretty high up there.

But obviously Fizban was stronger.

Actually Fistandantilus would probably be higher tier than Rastlin... However Rastlin is GOD TIER!! =)

Except when Raistlin travelled back in time and murdered his ass.

Maaaaaaaaan that was a cool series.

Kefka from FFVI becomes
the literal God of Magic that all magic in the universe hinges on his existence
so him.

How do you distinguish magic from superpowers?

In Brian Clevinger's book, Nuklear Age, the big bad of the story, Nihel,
instantaneously ended the lives of exactly half of the Earth's population without so much as a movement just to clarify that there was no special meaning in the death of the protagonist's girlfriend. It was just a thing he did in the midst of trying to hold a conversation with the protagonist.

Well, yeah, comics changes power levels.

Dr. Strange is the most powerful Avenger. He can control time (without Time Gem) and alter reality according to his lore.

Doubtful that he's the most powerful, but Belgarath from the Belgariad is one of my favourites. He's basically Gandalf with a backstory and some personality.

Nah man, that would require actually being able to use magic.

Um sock with a brick in it is the most powerful spell in the universe.
