He didn't let his guard down, he didn't know how to counter IT.
Like mentioned above, he finished off U10 and Ultimate is strong, it allowed him to trade blows with Blue.
Why he didn't use Ultimate against Jimeze I don't know, I guess he would have used it if the fight went a little longer.

I like his design more than Freeza.
Frieza didn't no sell it. He was clearly hurt by it. It wasn't enough to kill him. No sell is Kale walking through the Kamehameha.

I loved the robot guy Gohan was fighting early on
I was out eating BBQ with the wife. Gohan was being real smart this episode. Playing along, saving his power vs. Jimeze to learn how to beat Instant Transmission, and also helping Freeza remove Frost
Seriously, what was the point of that?

Toei did the same thing in Movies 13 and 14 so I'm not surprised.
Of course he doesn't. We saw his performance in Episode 90 against it and Gohan isn't that smart of a fighter.

So part of me wonders a few things from this episode. For all we know, Frieza's plan is still the same and considering circumstances. Here's what I mean with this week's "Fighter Rankings"

2) Goku- 3 Eliminations, 3 Assists
3) Frieza- 4 Eliminations
4) Master Roshi- 3 Eliminations, two assists
5) Android 18- 3 Eliminations, one Assist
6)Kale- 2 Eliminations 3 Assists
7) Caulifla- 1 Elimination 3 Assists
8) Cabba, Android 17, Gohan, & Hit- 2 Eliminations
12) Krillin- 1 Elimination, 2 Assists
13- Tien 1 Elimination, One Assist
14) Basil, Frost, Ribianne, Jimeze Piccolo, Harmira, Jiren- 1 Elimination

Frieza was basically sitting with Cabba, 17, Gohan and Hit for a while now, but with two straight eliminations, Frieza moved up to 3rd, passing Master Roshi (since I would take it that getting eliminations counts more than assists in the long run). Should the situation play out where Frieza continues to eliminate the weaker enemies, he could easily be sitting comfy as the "MVP" and get the Wish to basically be the new "God" or whatever the plan would be.
In regards of Frost, I think we all saw that coming that the two were going to stab each other in the back somewhere and of course it would have been Frieza who got the better of Frost and a free elimination. Still, that sudden erase of Frost caught me off guard, and it does make me wonder if that will be it for Frost in Super (or if he will likely get revived with the rest of the universe if that's the likely outcome of the survival arc).
As for the next episode... Definitely going to be one to watch. One thing I'd like to know though is if Jiren is actually going to take out Ribianne before fighting Goku. If so, that could be a strong indicator for which universe would go next since it does seem like either U2 or U4 will be gone next.

This deception wasn't even needed. Frieza could have easily taken out Frost without it.
For how lame it ended up being at least the way it wrapped up was kinda funny, but still that whole aspect ended up being disappointing.

Not really. In movie 14, Gohan's bang appears as soon as he wears his gi, even before he powers ups. That likely happened because they just reused an old character design for that outfit.
