Worst 0/10 Completed Anime?

The first 8-ish episodes were amazing though. It's only when the arena fights started that the plot disappeared entirely and everything became trash.

It became trash the minute they thrust a high school girl's camel toe at the viewer on some amirox's dream journal type shit.

Big Order.

it's.. special, I was expecting a lot from the creator of Mirai Nikki which I absolutely loved.

But this? This anime?

CfUciE5.jpg

It's... really really shit. Honestly, I am torn on completely shitting on it because it's kind of parody levels of "so bad it's good". So I would want more people to watch this insane train wreck.

Came here to post this

Not anime but manga: Tenjou Tenge

Tenjho_Tenge_vol01.jpg

I felt personally insulted by the time I reached the end of this manga. It started out as an awesome high school brawler, and then about halfway through it began devolving into a ridiculously convoluted mess, and by the end the story was nearly incomprehensible. It was painfully obvious that the author had stopped giving a shit about this series, most likely because his manga Air Gear became more popular.

The hot takes in here are real. Now we just need Madoka and Death Note mentions and we'll be set.

Sheesh, I never knew AO was such trash. I guess I'm glad I never got the chance to see it after finishing Eureka Seven.

Dumb plot, stupid characters, deaths that by the end was bored of it, a great waste of time seeing all the anime, really overrated by the time everyone was praising it.

Also the twist was really meh, maybe the manga was better but the anime did nothing to me, I wasnt caring about any characters...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Glasslip.

It pains, it really pains me. P.A. Works is one of my favorite studios, and so far, most of their animes are great or at least passable. But not Glasslip. This is the biggest turd P.A. Works has ever released.

64265.jpg

In a nutshell, it doesn't even knows what it is. Slice of life? Supernatural? Love? Drama? If it tried to be any of that, it failed to do its job. None of the characters are memorable in a good way; Touko, the main protagonist, is a forgettable character. The others are quite unlikeable, especially the glasses girl. Ironically, the most ordinary character of the bunch is the best of them all, and that's saying a lot.

It is a shame, because like usual P.A. Works animes, it has beautiful visuals.

Charlotte_key.jpg

I would like to add Charlotte, another anime of P.A. Works and Jun Maeda, the main writer of many Key Visual works like Clanaad. Disappointing is what I would say this one to be. Protagonist started great with how he tried to take advantage of his body swapping ability but later he became another boring protagonist. Half of the anime was devoted to "monster of the week" characters that didn't have any relevancy to the plot. Of the main cast, the other dude was a disgusting creep and the other girl was stupid in a bad way; shame her twin sister that shared her body wasn't the main and only personality. Finally, after the first half, Maeda decided to rush the plot and everything became a mess. It could be salvageable, but this anime, just like Angel Beats, needed more than 12-13 episodes. At least Angel Beats was enjoyable.

Another mention is Lost Village, but this one is a case of it's so bad it's good. The anime is awful, but it is so stupid and surreal that at least it is enjoyable.

The FMA movie - Conquerors Of Shambala. I was coming off the 03 series (I don't think Brotherhood was a thing back when I watched them), which I kinda liked and I was really intrigued by the premise. I remember HATING it back then. Haven't rewatched it, but might be my biggest anime disappointment ever*.

Oreimo - I actually liked the first episode and like half of the second one. Thought I might as well give it a chance. And it nosedived. I actually played solitaire while watching to not get bored. In the end I only liked the first episode and like, the last two or so (plus the first two or three specials). Skipped the second season because I didn't think it was worth my time, and it might have been for the better.

Submarine 707R - Most of you haven't heard about it and I'm not surprised. I only have this because someone was selling some anime DVDs and I bought it all.
Anyway, it's a submarine anime. The fights might be the best thing in it, but they're still half decent at best. It's boring. It's ugly. It doesn't even have a coherent artstyle. It has one of the most out of place and useless loli scenes. It even has no characters - see that cover? No one except for the captain matters or IIRC even appears for much time outside of being in the background at all.
Obviously, it's an adaptation (more like a promo, since it's just 2 OVAs) of a manga, so it might have been fleshed out later, if it was to be continued. No idea about the source material, but it wasn't and as a standalone thing it's just not good.

If I didn't drop it hard, Kampfer would be my another choice. I actually checked out the manga for a bit and while it wasn't great, it was OKish. Plus I kinda like some of the designs.

*aside from the second or third season of Minami-Ke.

ef: Tale of Memories.

Where the (so utterly generic to the point of annoyance) main protagonist
bangs a girl with the mental age of 12 years old on top of the school rooftop
.
Back when I used to collect anime, it carries the distinction of being one of only two series I have sold my copy of due to being so offended and insulted by how bad it ended up being. The other was Oreimo, for reasons others have already mentioned.

As someone who liked Eureka Seven back in the day can I get tld on why this is so bad? I've never seen it.

It's not bad particularly on its own (like if they had filed the Eureka Seven IP off it'd be a moderate-or-forgettable mecha anime), but it completely shits all over the awesome ending of the original Eureka Seven and that makes fans mad.

The new movies fortunately seem to be writing a new ending for Eureka Seven that might relegate AO to discontinuity, though.

Honestly it's been like 10 years since I watched it so I don't remember it that well, but I thought most of the character motivations made no sense.

Did you watch the series or the movie because the movie was even more incoherent, especially at the end when one of the bad guys just straight up starts killing everyone for no reason.

Speaking of CLAMP, my vote goes for Blood C. The Blood franchise had always been kind of gross and grind house-y, but this fell all the way into self-parody but still took itself ridiculously seriously and to this day it's the closest thing I've seen to a mainstream guro anime.

YuGiOh is hot garbage. Can't believe people defend it. It's only good for jokes and threatening to send people to shadow realm. Actually had some 30+ year old dude start an argument because I said it was bad.

FMA Brotherhood is pretty bad. probably not 0/10 bad but pretty bad.

Sword Art Online is puerile wish-fulfillment trash. Absolutely awful.

Other than that easy pick I don't watch many trash anime, but Kamisama Dolls is fucking terrible.

FMAB

Not necessarily 0/10 on it's own individual merits, but for being redundant in general and pointless to watch due to 03 being better in every way.

marry me

also, Sword Art Online. Had some friendos gushing over it, so I gave it a shot and was just appalled. Its insane popularity is frustrating too.

The first half of season one of SAO is at least entertaining even though they waste the premise. Also it gave us the greatness of SAO Abridged on YouTube.

Oh yeah, I don't know what to do with my copy of E7 AO, I bought Blu Ray box blind because I was a fan of the first season without reading reviews and never watched it. After reading this thread, I just want to throw it in the trash can.

I completely recognize SAO as male fantasy trash, but it's memorable trash.

I remember the cool scenes and the characters names, like Asuna or Sinon plus it has cool music and Designs

To me SAO is a 4/10

Can't say the same for Guilty Crown

Each episode felt like it was written by an Evangelion fanboy who hated at E7 and all it stood for.

SAO is a very solid 2/10.

Yeah. It's probably the worst anime I've ever bothered to finish, but there are a couple of decently animated fights, and the music isn't awful.

Everything else is just garbage, though.

Have there been any genuinely good "MMO anime" since like... .Hack?

(Oh god young me liked .Hack please don't tell me it's actually terrible)

I prefer 03 version myself. It's actually one of the only anime things I actually like. I attempted to watch Brotherhood at one point but it just didn't really catch my attention.

My co-workers think I'm crazy when I mention this to them. They always argue that it's simply better because it follows the manga. My response is I just don't give a shit and I think the story they told works on it's own merit.

Yeah but if you don't follow the manga exactly you lose the parts where the soul-snatching release schedule of serialized manga leaves the writer sleepless and despondent for weeks on end and they just pencil in whatever inane garbage rolling through their head sounds least like a suicide note to meet a deadline coming at them like a freight train.

You wouldn't want that; we'd never have another shonen janken episode again.

Log Horizon?

Kill la Kill. Well....this I actually enjoyed a little, so 0/10 is too harsh.

Any of the Fate shows. These I thought were complete garbage. 0/10 for sure.

You're not talking about fate/zero are you?

.hack//sign wasn't very good my friend.

Sign had some interesting bits. It was mostly just a bunch of people talking too much and not really doing anything, but some of it was interesting.

I couldn't make it through Gundam Seed Destiny. They took all the hard work from Seed and just shit all over it.

Seed barely had anything going for it in the first place.

Character development went backwards, Kira Yamato became the focus again, and designs for most of the mobile suits were generic as hell.

Shadow Realm? That means you watched the 4kids version

I mean, let's be real YGO shows are not masterpieces, they're shows about cards

But there is a law in the YuGiOh fandom, no matter how awful a series manages to be, the English dub can make it million times worse.

My favorite YuGiOh series is 5D's, and I wouldn't recommend the dub to anyone. They literally skip arcs and Movie Maker the final Villains lair out of the Sky to avoid the more violent scenes. And every single line of dialogue is an awful pun.

I never watched .Hack, but I'm a big fan of Log Horizon. It has a lot more 'real' MMO attributes than something like SAO.

Log Horizon starts out good, but 2nd season turn it to shit.

As for MMO anime, Overlord is pretty good. Sadly the series ends before it went anywhere interesting. Hopefully there's a 2nd season.

There was a brief point in SAO where the male fantasy seemed to include "being a good father and husband", which was sort of novel at least, but from what I've seen it looks like that went out the window with a quickness.

Log Horizon. It's like watching real people who understand and play MMOs getting stuck in an MMO that looks and plays alot like an actual MMO. Might not be your cup of tea if you aren't a fan of 'politics' in your anime, but it's real good. I could have done without the forced love triangle tho...

I heavily dislike Sword Art Online, I was expecting a modern take on .hack and all I got was the ultimate male fantasy...

The worst part was that the lead female character was actually pretty awesome in the first season... Then they decided that just wouldn't do and turned her into the ultimate damsel in distress, complete with class change from a warrior to a healer.

High School of the Dead takes the crown for garbage tier animes.

This is true. Never forget the magic bullet dodging boobies.

Log Horizon. It starts with the same sort of "group of players wind up stuck inside the MMO they play" premise, but instead of focusing on escaping from the game, or on a "if you die in the game you die for real" hook, its about the main characters figuring out how to pull a messy group of individuals with different interests into a common society with a functional economic and political system. Characters deal with trying to police player-killing around their town, or figuring out how to supply and run a restaurant, or making alliances with a nearby kingdom of now-entirely-sentient NPCs.

It's a bit of a slow starter, with broadly-sketched characters and some tedious stock jokes, but the plotting and world-building, at least in season 1, are so strong that I found it very worthwhile. It aired in a kids timeslot, so it's got a pretty wholesome feel to it too.
