I'm just looking forward to Frieza having a turn as Pan's babysitter. That is the true Redemption F Arc.

Even if Spirit Bomb were powerful enough to defeat Jiren, that damn thing is way too friggin slow. That has absolutely zero chance of touching Jiren if Jiren doesn't wish for it too, which means it's only purpose for being shown is so Jiren can show us how easily he deals with a technique at that level.

I wouldn't be surprised if he physically touches the spirit bomb with his bare hand, only to just nullify it out of existence without too much effort on his end.

This episode was dumb.

Why are the writers so dumb.

Why is DB Super so dumb.

Isn't the Spirit Bomb destined to defeat very evil enemies with pure evil ki, energy and intentions since it gathers the energy of innocent lives, people, animals, plants? Jiren isn't an evil enemy with bad intentions after all, he is a the most important hero in the Justice team. The Spirit Bomb won't have any effect on him not because of its low caliber but because of the principle of it and to whom it is targeted.

I also love Frost.

Freeza suddenly being smart kind of fits worth the idea that he realized he had to improve himself after his resurrection. Maybe having been dead for so long really changed him?

I would be able to buy this if RoF didn't happen, but he repeated his same mistake from before the Androids(got a shiny new form and rushed off for revenge).
After all this time and multiple chances I just don't think it's believable that Frieza is able to reflect and improve himself.

What if the twist is that the limit breaker stuff with Goku is all fake and it's really Gohan that gets it... lol yeah right

This is actually a theory I've had for the longest, that it might be a prelude to the more complete version awakened by Gohan at some point during the tournament.

Also, the more I see, the more this arc looks like Gohan is being treated like the second main character, or someone receiving a major buildup for something. Frieza's interactions with him this episode, as well as the different moments of focus he's received in the tournament (with the exception of that sniper episode of course), makes me think something is seriously up.

Even Jimeze said he could tell that Gohan is a fighter with great potential, and that if he should see him again, he would teach Gohan his attacks.

Anyone see the theory floating around that Jiren is just an empty vessel that is being controlled by the god of destruction of that universe who can somehow imbue the vessel with his power.

lol

Also, next episode looks like one in which the anime reveals that it is Jiren, and not Toppo, who is the mortal in training to be the next God of Destruction for Universe 11?

Maybe that will be a key difference between the manga and anime. Who knows, maybe Jiren won't be quite as deadly an opponent in the manga, and it will instead end up being Toppo? We will have to see I guess.

Me too, I thought that Frieza fought Gohan to push him to his limits and unlock his true power since he was always intrigued by saiyans. I think witness the new form for Goku based on Gohan's Mystical form and both will team tag fight Jiren.

Keep in mind that even in the anime, the one in cloak next to Universe 11 hakaishin, watching the pre-tournament 3 fights was first Jiren then changed after by Toppo.

That was more than likely just a mistake and miscommunication

The manga also had it be Toppo so it was supposed to be him in Toriyama outline and it's not like they can make a last minute change like that

I wonder why they decided to switch them, I don't think they switched their roles, maybe they just didn't feel like introducing Jiren like that.

Well that's that.

It was never said the Spirit Bomb only works against evil. Seriously, where are people getting this?

No it wasn't. The model before didn't even match Jiren's design.

Man, I think this episode is really good setup for some stuff down the line. Remember that the Zenos can't keep track of things if they move too fast? Someone on the stands could exploit this to help out their team. That would let them dodge the instant-wipe from Zeno and tilt things in their favor.

Oh, and NEP looks awesome. A damn spirit bomb while SSB + KK is nuts. That'd probably drop all but 3-4 people in this tournament (outside of Jiren).

Even if Zeno didn't see some speedy shenanigans the Grand Priest or one of the angels would. Remember that Vados could keep up with Dyspo and Hit's fight.

You can't gather energy from evil entities anyway to form that ball. It is supposed to be pure kindness against pure evil. That is why it is called Spirit Bomb.

It's called the Genki Dama. The Spirit Bomb is the English dub name, which isn't entirely accurate. It was also never said you can't gather energy form evil either. Plus, Cell said he could create the Spirit Bomb and no one questioned him on it.

The Genki Dama hurt Frieza though. Frieza's not evil.

Hah. It was in DBZ of course when he was evil. but in previous times almost all Dragon Ball characters were evil, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Piccolo,Vegeta, the androids, Buu and even Bulma in the beginning. Then all suddenly became more docile than sheeps. This is a cliche of the majority of mangas and animes.
But again, who told you that Frieza became a nice person and doesn't hide an evil scheme like many still suspect?

Then why would it kill gohan if he fucked up reflecting it? Its never been said it only hurts evil people

I don't remember any of those events happening. Can you tell me when exactly?

I don't think it was ever stated it only work on evil just that only the pure hearted can use it

This. That is why I can't understand (or remember) Cell saying this.

Pretty much, and it gathers life force or something similar (genki), which is the reason people who offer their energy feel a bit tired afterwards, plus I don't think evil people are excluded from sharing their energy tbh.

Yea, it would be pretty badass and speak volumes of Jiren's power if it took two among the most powerful Saiyans from Universe 7, one or both in which will unlock far greater power, to take on and defeat, or just to stalemate him. It would be a rather nice way of showing us just how far from a god of destruction the current main characters still are.

Keep in mind that even in the anime, the one in cloak next to Universe 11 hakaishin, watching the pre-tournament 3 fights was first Jiren then changed after by Toppo.

Really.. wonder if that was a mistake by the animators?

Maybe they're confusing it for the Devilmite Beam? Speaking of, that was such a broken attack.

That thing kills anyone who doesn't have any evil. Meaning, only people like Buu (who needs to be atomized to be killed), maybe Cell, Future and Merged Zamasu, and extremely pure-hearted people would survive it.

Huh

This is actually an interesting theory

Doubt it's true, but it's interesting

That would replicate the Kami Piccolo case, illegally participating using Shen body in order to contain the evil Piccolo. Does that mean Universe 11 Hakaishin would do this in order to guarantee his universe's victory? Possible, seeing how apathetic Jiren is during the tournament, looking always hollow and needing so much concentration, maybe due to the Hakaishin remote control.
In that case if Universe 11 wins by this fraudulent manner, if the Zenos find out, they will erase them.

Bahaha! After all the scheming, all the fan theories, Frost is casually eliminated with absolutely no fanfare. Not even any music playing. Well played DB Super, I wasn't expecting that.
