Very meh list that completely forgets about MMO bosses where you'd need to coordinate dozens of people with very specific equipment and builds for HOURS without mistake to get a CHANCE to win. The fact a Destiny boss wins this list must be some kind of joke tbh.
I wouldn't even put the Shadow of Yharnam in my top 10 hardest bosses in Bloodborne.
It probably isn't technically a 'boss' but the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst is the hardest thing in that entire game outside of Orphan of Kos.
Alma? I guess it's because I have played Ninja Gaiden to death and it's my favorite game series but Alma is easy as shit lol.
Kael'thas?
If MMO bosses count (since they have C'thun at No. 2) then I'd think the top ranks would all be WoW bosses. The crazy amount of effort, skill, practice, gear, patience and above all, number of people needed to tackle the hardest difficulties is pretty crazy. I don't really have end-game raiding experience in other MMOs but I'm sure there are plenty of crazy encounters in those too.
Also, this list has a glaring lack of SNK bosses. Those who have played the older King of Fighters games know what I'm talking about...
I don't get the hype with Nameless King. I mean it is an awesome fight and dudes a badass but I didn't find him all that difficult.Nameless King No.3?
Is this a joke?
My No.1 pick would be Flamelurker and Maneater solo on your first playthrough, especially if Demon's Souls is your first Souls game.
Senator Armstrong needs to be higher on that list.
That guys was a pain in the ass.
But that theme, so good.
So many easy bosses on that list. KH2 Sephiroth doesn;t deserve to be anywhere on a list of hardest video game bosses let alone above Lingering Will or anything from the Souls games.
No Monster Hunter bosses on there is disappointing. Gen 2 G rank Tigrex is one of the hardest bosses gaming has to offer.
If you want to talk hard bosses lets talk the Marionette from Chapter 2, thats before you have promotions and its before you generally have good characters or weapons. It's hard because it has 35 hp and really high defense so you'll do less then 5 damage on it, it also knows Freeze 3 so it'll 1 shot pretty much everyone on your team outside of Ken and if you try and group up it can hit multiple people at once. Oh it also regenerates around 10hp a turn. The only way to make the fight easier is to abuse the power ring but without that its certainly fairly hard when every fight until this point is largely a joke.
Nope.
Still haven't beaten Manus. The framerate, the AoE and those hitboxes man...
Haven't made much progress in Dark Souls after that. I did beat Artorias though after 100 tries.
Kaiser Knuckle's General laughs at your list.
Seems strange to include Shadow Link when you can just stand in the corner and low blow it until death
I wasn't expecting this to show up, but if you're talking about a serious challenge...
FUCKING DUGOG FROM PUZZLE QUEST 1.
That asshole is way overpowered for the first major boss of the game.
Anytime he gets gold? Free turn.
Anytime his blue is above 6? He gets a life point.
His club? Randomly will do major damage.
You need so much luck to win this battle. Then the rest of the game seems so easy.
Certainly not an original point in this thread but it is worth reiterating: This is a dumb list that eschews accuracy and intrigue in favor of including things that people know and will be like "yeah I beat that and it was hard". Yes, I realize this is a result of their weird/populist criteria, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a misleading list.
An accurate list would:
1. Consist almost entirely of arcade games and
2. Consist almost entirely of SHMUPs.
A console game that has been beaten by a large number of people simply does not contain one of the 100 hardest video game bosses of all time. That includes relatively difficult games like Bayonetta and the Ninja Gaidens.
The worst part about him for me is (if I remember) there is no New Game + mode for PQ1, so you have to replay him as a wuss again if you want to play through the story a second time. That SUCKS.Fuck that guy. I mean, all high level battles in this game are bullshit because the enemy literally knows what's outside of the field and what RNG it'll get, so it constantly makes "dumb" moves which somehow turn into extra turns or skulls spawning right where he needs them. But that boss... I raged, hard. I beat him once, never bothered again.
Kind of silly to include stuff like a Guitar Hero song and then ignore actual infamously, insanely difficult bosses like Demi-fiend from Digital Devil Saga.
